Well... apparently there's a limit to how many calories your body can digest in any given time period.

Something like 10-15k limit a day. Literally, the food will simply move past the intestinal tract through peristalsis at a rate greater than the villi will absorb the nutritional content.

Absolutely a great point. Food will definitely move through the small intestine unabsorbed due to the physical bulk of it all. There does have to be some complication in regards to what does get absorbed though. The nature of the competition is gluttony and it often involves processed foods in excess (twinkies, hotdogs, burritos, pizza). Stonie did eat bananas like crazy in one of his videos, but that could induce all kinds of issues of other issues too (too much potassium etc etc).

There's definitely a way to balance it all, I'd just love to see a long-term study that follows weight and overall health.

Pretty sure he lost once due to a jaw injury prior to the event (and still almost won) and another due to some sketchy last-second shenanigans by Joey followed by some BS "sudden death" dog-off they made up on the spot to break the tie that resulted. That's hardly "having his ass handed to him".

I still remember a few years back when Kobayashi showed up at the event (in the audience) and when people saw him and started chanting his name, he got onto one of the risers, then MLE had him arrested for Trespassing.
