Wii finally beats PSP in terms of multiplatform!

EDIT: Beaten so badly.

Will be very interested to see Mario 3D Land's figures.

The Mario platformer/ Mario Kart double-punch is going to be killer for Nintendo. I can well see them doing the same for Wii U.

You know, pretty much everything you said in this post was applicable to the PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3. Sony knows the score. Specs don't sell systems, games do. And to get games, you need developer support. They fucked up the developer support with the PS3 big time, because it was way too hard to develop for at launch, and they lost some support on PSP due to piracy, but the Vita aims to avoid these two issues. Sony has tried to do everything the developers want, and the launch lineup reflects that.

It's NOT about Specs. PS2 for example was the weakest system that generation (not counting Dreamcast). There is a difference between a high end system and a low end system. PRICE is a bottle neck. That's why the PS3 struggled. That's why the 3DS struggled out of the gate. People have a certain internal price they think a console is worth, and that a handheld is worth. Sony fans repeatedly pointed out, and I agree from a technology stand point the PS3 was a GREAT deal. Didn't matter as long as $599 was what consumers saw because that was over many consumer's price they were willing to pay. I understand that $250 from a technological standpoint is a huge value for the Vita. I just see it hurting Vita's sales.

Maybe I'm wrong. I just don't see Vita being able to change things, I mean, PSP got a nice toe-hold into the handheld market, doing something no other system has done. Vita though is just more of the same and more of the same isn't enough to CHANGE that dynamic.

edit: also, YES, amazing.
