Just so you guys know-- I own a Deep Red PSP, and as far as I can tell from the shots, the GoW PSP is the same as the Deep Red, with the difference being the edge and ring accents being darker (and of course the silkscreen).

As much as I agree with that its a good deal. 499 is still 499 and it still detracts potential buyers. I just believe that the PS3 is a good year from hitting the 299.99 price point. If we get it by X-mas 08, great as the sooner the better for my friend here who can't afford 499.

Does the extra 40GB matter to you that much?

Does software BC matter to you that much?

If the answer is no to these questions, then you're pretty much as well off getting the 399 40GB.

40GB PS3 now + DS3 + MGS4 = $515
80GB PS3 in June with DS3 + MGS4 = $500

The advantage of getting it now being that you get to play it now, and all the nice stuff coming out between now and MGS4. You're by no means necessarily getting the short end of the stick by getting the 40GB now, if the extra few months with the PS3, and the more immediate access to certain games matters more to you than 40GB more HDD space and partial BC.

Downhill? You do know that Metal Gear Solid 3 was released don't you? Everything you mentioned points towards MGS2, which was indeed a lesser part of the series, albeit far from a bad game.

Also, fans of realistic anything have little to look for in a Metal Gear Solid game, or a large percentage of games in general for that matter.

No one who brings up the HORRIBLE "but but people associate so and so game with so and so system so they'll buy the new game on that system" argument should add to a conversation. That's so ridiculous. That isn't even RELATED to people buying it because of the DLC. Many gamers WILL buy it on 360 because of that.

And I SAID that's when I would get my PS3. Because of this bundle.

And the DLC has nothing to do with CASUALS picking up the game. But many GAMERS will get it on 360 due to that.
