Because Kojima is a genius, simply as that!I'll never understand why Kojima does this stuff :lol
It was the perfect remake at that time.
This is so fucking wrong. Listen, I bought a NGC just for the TTS, I'd be the first guy to let you know if the game was amazing. It wasn't. It was MGS, with crazy Kitamura cutscenes, weird voice acting and badly implemented MGS 2 mechanics on levels that weren't meant to account for them.
No, he allowed Kitamura complete freedom on that project. He didn't "want" them any specific way.You mean Krazy Kojima cutscenes. everyone forgets its their Lord & Savior Kojima who wanted them that way.
Not really. Physics and animations are pretty much on par between these 2 games. At least from what we have seen so far. Scale and AI make the difference though, although the view distance here wasn't that big to be fair.Beyond is not a game as in MGS GZ. It's a tech demo with spectator mode, IMO.
MGS GZ on the other hand is a full game, with its advanced physics, animation, scale and AI.
this is all 100% fact:
ground zeroes is like the tanker mission from mgs2. just a prologue(like kojima said)
after a few hours it skips ahead and you're playing Big Boss with longer hair a few years later.
you're welcome
Will this game limit you to one pistol and one two handed firearm at a time? Snake seems to have a holstered gun on his right and the big one on his left. Peace walker already had two firearm limit but no size distinction.
maybe fixed.
I'll never understand why Kojima does this stuff :lol
Spin off cooking game staring Sunny would be awesome.
Cooking Mama-less
Do we know who the scarred face man is in the trailer?
Galvez, even juniors know that already

Very sad to hear Kojima say there are no plans to remake MG1/2.
Simply playing MG1/2 is not satisfactory to me. Fine games for their time, but they are hardly coherent/consistent with the Solid games.
How could someone not want to experience the two missions that made Solid Snake a legend in MGS style? Snake vs Big Boss. It would also serve as the connection between the Big Boss games and Solid Snake games: The end of Big Boss's career, the start of Solid Snakes. It is such a pivotal part of the franchise to not be remade in my opinion.
I'm actually pretty disappointing that Ground Zeroes is not a MG1/MG2 remake.
But fine, whatever, I guess after MGS4 a game to flesh out the dynamic between Big Boss and Zero is necessary too (I originally thought that's what PW was going to do, but nope). But the next game better be The Remake.

That said, I found them kind of fun.
The problem I have with Twin Snakes centers more on the fact that the graphics performance is poor and unstable, a lot of the modelling is ugly, the level design wasn't made for MGS2 style gameplay, and the controls didn't work all that well on Gamecube. I still enjoyed it, but it had issues. The GC was strong hardware so it was disappointing to see a rendition of Metal Gear that looked vastly inferior than both installments on PlayStation 2.

He made a mistake, and didn't make it again.
Blackmamba, even juniors know to be polite and understand that no one can follow every thread of interest religiously
For what it is worth, I have some serious doubts about Galvez. It just seems too obvious.
Sorry I've been busy and out of the loop, what evidence (or confirmations) supports that the man with the scarred face is Galvez from PW. Or are we talking about another Galvez?
I like your work Plastica!
From my knowledge, that is wholly wrong. No, he allowed Kitamura complete freedom on that project. He didn't "want" them any specific way.

Can someone please do me a huge favor and sum up this 43 page thread?

Thanks, but it is not mine, it was posted very early not by me!
I like the idea of playing that Snake/BB show down from BB's perspective as a great way to tie up the whole Big Boss/LET saga.I don't know if 'remake' is the exact word for what I'd like, but I really want Kojima to revisit and update the MG1/MG2 storylines to better gel with the rest of the series. The actual level design, missions, boss fights, etc, can be all-new, I just want to play the game where Big Boss and Snake have their showdown, with the appropriate "Oh shit!" factor after all the games building up the two characters.
As it stands, the two MSX games are a really unsatisfying link between Peace Walker and MGS1, regardless of how many more prequel games Kojima wants to make setting up Big Boss' fall.
Oh, and I really do love me some Twin Snakes. I always feel that preference probably just comes down to whichever version of MGS1 you played first. To me, it's the voice acting in the PS1 version that sounds weird.

Fuck it, I like Twin Snakes. I can't compare it to the original, but I like it as a MGS game. I think it's fun, and it played great. Some stuff was a bit off because it wasn't exactly what you expect (like some of the music), but it was a pretty awesome game overall.
I liked it better than 3 overall. It was more fun and special to me. I don't know if I played TS a lot sooner than I played 3 (which was like in 06') but it felt a lot more special to me, and felt more akin to what I liked in 2. I don't know, I mean I know gameplay is better in 3, but TS was more fun.
Bring it on haters.
I've never played TS and I never will because i'm a Kojima purist.
also @plastic-man your are making a ton of assumpion about the snak/bb/snake/bb cycle. I think they just make what they want to. I do agree that GZ on PC is a slim chance though.
Haha, what? These are video games people. Just play it with an open mind. If you dislike it, well then, you dislike it. Not a big deal.I've never played TS and I never will because i'm a Kojima purist.
