That's not Nvidia's fault tbh, and I imagine they'll say the same thing to avoid it all as they are not a retailer. But you could try it if you'd like.

Newegg is giving out keys, so far I haven't heard of Amazon doing so for May orders.

I ordered a GTX 970 G1 from Amazon on May 8. support just told me they would "request a key from the promo department" and to "give them 1-2 days for processing" so i could receive the key through e-mail
so yeah, dunno if that's a 100% confirmation or what

Well they are the lower end of the 900 series so they're pretty cheap. From what I hear they're like a GTX 680 equivalent?

So, so glad I looked at this thread. I ordered a GTX 980 on May 15th (and recently got my 980 Ti from EVGA via their Step-Up program) and just got a code for The Phantom Pain.
I thanked Adam and then he posted info about a survey that he said would appear when I hit the "Exit" button at the top right. Unfortunately, Adam ended the chat session and the button was grayed out. If anyone knows how I can still do the survey about my chat with Adam, let me know! Otherwise, thank you to them and Newegg for their awesome customer service.
I thought the game will be released on September 1st, but I guess that release date was for the console versions. Shit.

Got a Titan X in June for Batman. Didn't get a free copy. Bought a $20 key on ebay. Game was fucked so i had the get the PS4 version sooner then expected (was going to wait for GOTY). Tried to ask Newegg anyways and they flat out said no. Awesome.

Tried chat support at amazon again. They are submitting a form to the promo department to exchange my batman code for the MGSV code. We'll see how it goes.
Is titan x supposed to have a promo?

Is there any confirmation of a release date for this game on PC? I can't wait to finally play this, but I'm waiting for PC. Would be nice if I can get one of these codes off a friend.

Only the Witcher 3 iirc. I was hoping they would at least toss me a bone but nope. Oh well, since there is a delay for the PC version maybe they'll be dirt cheap by the time i'm done with the PS4 version.

I could swear I saw some cards with a MG backplate on them. I think it was on kojima station a while ago. I think they were Zotac cards.

It's impossible to resolve. It's intentional design, not a bug. It's still a fantastic card for the price.

No but it's really not a big deal. You'll still get better performance per dollar from the 970.
Or you could go with Radeon's 390. That thing has 8GB of memory. Unless you absolutely must have MGS5 with the card. But you can probably just buy it cheap anyway.

Doesn't NVidia buy these codes from companies? Wonder how this all went down between them and WB.
UPDATE: Contacting Newegg at wecare@newegg.com about exchanging past promo codes for the Phantom Pain works. A customer service rep called me no more than 10 minutes after sending the email to tell me they could get me a promo code for The Phantom Pain. The woman on the phone told me that many of their reps in the chatrooms are mistakenly telling people (like me) they aren't eligible for the code swap.

LOL what a load of shit. Unless you're running the game off an SSD or you have more than 8GB of RAM there's a good chance you'll run into issues.
