What do you have against Michelle Obama?
They don't like her because she wants to take away their fried-everything.
I'll give you my reason. Here in Chicago, she was an executive at the University of Chicago Hospitals, and I know a few people that worked with her. They said that she tried her hardest to make sure that the hospital avoided providing any care to uninsured or poor patients. Of course, that's just what I've heard, and it could be false.
I'm sure almost every President and his First Lady have been booed at least once :\
i'm english, so unless we're talking wimbledon or lawn bowls, no.Of course, we expect attendees at a major sporting event to have more class than kids at a concert. Don't you agree?
I'm sure every president and first lady gets their share of boos. No need for outrage.
It is absolutely shameful to disrespect the First Lady in such a manner. That being said, there was definitely some booing but the cheering was significantly larger, so I don't think we should treat the crowd with one broad stroke.

I'm sure she wasn't surprised

I don't think Mrs. Obama is worthy of such rudeness, but at the same time I think the concept of a "First Lady" is pretty silly.
The first lady doesn't deserve respect merely by virtue of her status.
NASCAR?
Damn stereotypes.

I like how the concern trolls in this thread are all "She hasn't done anything to deserve respect" as if booing someone is the most neutral position you could hold.
You'd probably be wrong, first ladies were traditionally given politeness if not gentlemanly respect. Some people think because she uses her station as first lady to speak out on social topics that she's fair game, because she's essentially a politician. But Betty Ford and Nancy Reagan and Jackie O and Pat Nixon were probably never booed. And of course not Lady Bird Johnson. Hillary Clinton was, however, and I'm guessing Mrs. O is ok with being held in that regard.
Once again, just from what I've heard, but the Cook County Hospital System wanted UoC to help pick up a bit of the slack in the community when it came to the uninsured, and I've been told that she was against it. It may not necessarily be that she had any say in it, but her attitude and opinion was against it.She worked at the hospital as the Director for Community Affairs and then as VP for Community and External Affairs. Pretty sure that position excluded her from any input on hospital billing procedures.
It just goes back to that one simple creed: It's okay if you're a Republican.Laura Bush was pretty active on equally controversial social issues and she was never booed, or had politicians/news networks bash her for it.

Maybe im being naive but why does everyone automatically equate her being booed to "OMG everyone is racist".
To be fair Obama is an extremely liberal president who gets accused of being a socialist by many conservatives. They pretty much hate the guy. Mix that with the drunk people in attendance at the event and not surprised they booed. They hate everything he stands for.
Im sure that many dislike him because of his race but I really think that its based on such a strong Liberal view and them being against that.
LOLTo be fair Obama is an extremely liberal president
meh, every first lady gets booed
I'm waiting for colonel colon to answer thisWhy exactly should she garner disrespect?
I'm waiting for colonel colon to answer this
I'm wondering why in the world she would choose a fucking NASCAR event to do anything...

I wouldn't go so far as to boo her, but I'd turn my back to her due to the insane amount of money she spends on her entourage.

I'm sure everyone on this particular trip was living it up in the typical top-shelf Michelle way.

You're not referring to the Secret Service detail that HAS to accompany her, are you?
:-/
You under the impression that she can travel with less? It doesn't work like that.
