I know the way I want to respond to this but it won't be considered acceptable.
I just find it ironic when you use the phrase "usual suspects" you yourself fall into that spectrum.
Now the exodus might give you a little more exposure but remain humble.

I put it in the same boat as the Elite controller. The Elite controller sold well and was sold out for a while after release but it didn't set the world on fire. I think MS is smart with the demand and putting out enough to sell respectable numbers but not enough to overstock. At the end of the day considering price and the fact that the XB1 just isn't as popular as the PS4 I see it selling well but also being quite niche.

i had it preordered but canceled it and got a Mario switch bundle instead.
I have a ps4 and pc so can play most games already.
For me, exclusive games i want to play are the #1 reason to buy a console. Specs are irrelevant if it does not have the games or i can play them on a system i already have.

Didn't know about that. Curry's/PC World are generally shite anyway so it's probably for the best.
Yeah I'll have a peek in the local Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco next weekend. Maybe GAME will have some in store units too.

I wouldn't put any stock in a company saying this of their own product, but the new xbox is by all accounts so far an excellent device, and so will likely do well. Even if you detest MS products, them pushing out a more powerful console will only spur on the product you do like to do the same thing, along with an increase in the standard of fidelity across the board, meaning a delayed but preferential result for you as well.
They don't have to. That doesn't mean they don't have the numbers which is all I was getting at. I think personally think it will sell better than the pro.

Agreed. Supposidely they are working on the next Xbox as we speak, according to Microsoft, so we'll see what they have planned. Looks good so far. I don't think nothing can pull me away from my Switch atm, though, lol.

IÂ’m not a fan of Microsoft at all but I recognize that competition really benefits the consumer so I hope this X is very successful.
I really like the idea of the Xbox x but all I play is my ps4 and switch atm. I will probably get an Xbox down the road though. Hopefully they have some interesting new single player games to announce since that is mostly what I play.

You cannot beat a Nvidia streaming box.
Its th dogs bollocks and I have tried more than a few.
Netlix, Amazon and more Kodi (tehe) is just sublime.
I wish they would be more competitive in software. Hardware is becoming a commodity.
Sony's show yesterday had some new stuff, but it was primarily full of updates to announced projects.
Most of the new stuff that was shown was VR, a market where Xbox isn't competing with them. I wish we saw Xbox create content that could give Uncharted or God of War competition.

I'm an "own everything" kinda guy when it comes to gaming consoles. My biggest problem is that last year when they announced the Xbox One S I jumped on board the platform. I've enjoyed my Xbox One although truth be told it hasn't got nearly as much playtime as my PS4 Pro and has primarily been an Xbox 360 machine.
The issue is that now they want $499 for another iterative upgrade that is now only marginally better than what I already have. I understand that this product probably wasn't made for people in my situation, but what's strange is that it's being heavily marketed and directed to people just like me. I want the better frame rates and higher resolutions (especially on backwards-compatible games) but that alone simply isn't enough of a draw to make me dip in.
I obviously knew the Scorpio was coming (it was announced alongside the S) but as someone that didn't already have an Xbox One and was looking for a 4K Blu Ray player it seemed like a good fit at the time.
After Sony's recent announcements and their big VR push, along with including VR games in PS+ now, it seems dollars to dollars the better value is going to be in purchasing something like a PSVR headset.
But again, that's just me. I totally understand why people are excited about this - I would be too if I didn't already have the S. Maybe I'm missing something though.

They probably aren't releasing that many units, kind of like with the Elite controller. I believe the demand is there, it's just that there won't be that many consoles on the market.
MS has done fairly well with high-end harware lately, don't see why this should be an exception.

Hate to break it to you, but they will not sell that many this holiday. You'll have your early adopters which will be around 3-400k for Nov. 100k for rest of the world and not a chance at more than that in December.. I'll give it a million WW.. but 2 million is insanity

Quite happy with my original 500gb model. Won't consider a S or X upgrade until it breaks down (which it did in July but I just replaced the power supply).

4K Netflix is available through 4K Smart TVs and several devices. I can tell you as good as it seems it is, the compression makes 4K Netflix streaming a bit above Blu Ray quality, but not nearly the same quality as off a disc or drive.
Bought an original Xbox in Nov. 2001 for $299. Six months later they dropped the price to $199. Was so pissed of about it I didn't buy a XB360 until 2009 when they came out with the arcade version for $149. Bought a Xbox One at launch for $500 only to see them drop the Kinect and the price to $399 six months later. They dug in the knife when the dropped the price to $349 during the holidays that year.
History is telling me give it six months to a year. I want to be one of the folks Microsoft is giving 2 and 3 games for free with purchase of an XBox X even after a $50 price drop.

This seems unlikely to happen as long as the delta remains the same in between sales of the PS4 and Xbox One.

I'm really contemplating buying one, but part of me thinks I should just invest that money into building a powerful PC or upgrading my PS4 to a PS4 Pro. Plus, I don't have alot of extra cash and the only Xbox exclusive game I want to play is Cuphead, which is available on PC. Decisions decisions

Well put and agreed, though I do hope it is successful. It benefits everyone, though I will add that I hope it becomes successful after it drops to $399 or less, and not before, b/c that subtle statement needs to resonate w/ MSFT imo. Also, not real happy w/ the choice of CPU, which is a really bad bottleneck in this system, which is otherwise extremely well thought out. The other thing I wish they would have done is a hybrid SSD/HDD, especially at this price.
I'm buying one myself, but am conflicted now as to exactly when.

I would be amazed if it doesn't sell AT LEAST a million units over these next couple of months worldwide. Xbox early adopters are all over it.
While this is true 4k netflix is really really nice looking. I have an S with uhd blu rays which are amazing. But netflix 4k really is pretty nice. Ive been impressed by it.
Actually i try to stream everything when I can. Hbo on demand looks like ass as its compressed not even 1080p. But hboGO app on my ks8000 looks pretty darn crisp on the tv.
