Haha, stay PRESSED like Miley's buttcheeks in that hideous outfit she wore. Ya'll lovin' her.

Is that how these threads work?

The video would have been fine and even pretty good if she didn't decide to be a try hard with that licking a sledgehammer thing. Has nothing to do with the song and looks awful.

Think the blame here falls on Terry Richardson, not Miley. Video could have been much better with better direction. Looks amateurish at times.

Songs okay. Video is off-putting. She looks sickly and their are too many unflattering angles. No one wants to see a girl grime up their white panties. Plus the hammer licking is typical popstar retardation. To me it screams "I got nothing, nothing to say and nothing to do."

Sickly?? Dude come on..she is in fucking fantastic shape. Perfect female body.

Edit: I agree on the hammer licking though.

Camille Paglia hit the nail on the head -

But more important, Madonna, a trained modern dancer, was originally inspired by work of tremendous quality — above all, Marlene Dietrich’s glamorous movie roles as a bisexual blond dominatrix and Bob Fosse’s stunningly forceful strip-club choreography for the 1972 film Cabaret, set in decadent Weimar-era Berlin. Today’s aspiring singers, teethed on frenetically edited small-screen videos, rarely have direct contact with those superb precursors and are simply aping feeble imitations of Madonna at 10th remove.

Pop is suffering from the same malady as the art world, which is stuck on the tired old rubric that shock automatically confers value. But those once powerful avant-garde gestures have lost their relevance in our diffuse and technology-saturated era, when there is no longer an ossified high-culture establishment to rebel against. On the contrary, the fine arts are alarmingly distant or marginal to most young people today.

Unfortunately, the media spotlight so cheaply won by Cyrus will inevitably spur repeats of her silly stunt, by her and others.

Very nice

Looking at your posts you'd think you were either Miley, know Miley personally, or are getting $$ from her success somehow.

It must suck being so devoted to someone who doesn't even know about your existence..

God's had his chance.
I don't even know what it is but I'm way past caring. She could just sing the "It's Miley!" Bit thing from Talk Soup over and over again into a microphone and i would still smash.

She's fucking hawt. Duntevenhate.

how dare I be a fan of someone

let me go be a fan of a console or a tv show and care about that shit instead

then I will be totally respected by icecold

I don't even make the threads. I fucking hate when neogaf talks about her

but someone makes the thread about her music video and I'll bump it to get it more views because that helps me get more of what I like

her music

I can't watch past those disgusting strings of saliva. Brush your goddamn teeth before shooting super close ups, Miley!

superb analysis. it's too bad, because when pop is good they kill it, but when it's forced or rote, it's mediocre.

part of the problem is Miley Cyrus was manufactured as a product where she had no real say or probably little influence at a young age. Her stardom was acquired years ago. Madonna (and similarly, Lady Gaga) were allowed to make their own product and found their own way to stardom. Any attempt to break from an established mold of pop-stardom will be met with resistance. It's happened before and it will happen again. It's got to be tough on Miley Cyrus as she flounders in a spotlight that isn't her norm.

Imagine that guy getting a checkup at the doctor. The barely-contained revulsion that washes over the doctor as the meaning of the tattoos hits. It must be magical.
