Millenials have weaker grip strength than previous generations.

Our local school district has banned 'games of chase' on their playgrounds during recess.

THEY HAVE LITERALLY BANNED TAG.

Why? Insurance claims.

Of course millennials have weaker grip strength, all that hand-wringing the older generations do about us builds up some mad finger muscle.

EDIT: Seriously, I don't like to play into generation wars, but what the fuck even is this?

I never thought my grip strength was all that good, but for some reason my coworkers constantly need my help with opening containers and screwing/unscrewing things. Maybe it's because I do a lot of crafts that have me using my hands?

Could also be due to increased keyboard and mouse use, hm.

I have carpal tunnel in both hands, so playing grip games at carnivals or doing martial arts can be a bit of a challenge at times.

I guess gripping my penis is not a good hand workout. Perhaps it does not provide enough resistance. I will need to change my exercise regiment to include gripping others' penises.

didn't hang out enough in big shell

I can't recall a single moment in my life when having a better grip strength would have done anything meaningful.

Thank god we can stop making handshakes with guys a petty dominance match.

But without the ability to crush bones in your hands, or chase down wild deer and headbutt them to death, how do you expect to make a living in today's world? Grip strength doesn't help you in that cushy $12 an hour middle management job!

Heavy manual labor jobs are no longer the norm, instead it's the services section that is the norm today. This is hardly surprising.

I keep a grip trainer in my car and at my computer desk.

Also you can practice a S-grip

But why is that important?

I mean, its not a BAD thing to be in better shape, or have better grip strength. It's good to be in better shape. But where does high grip strength and regular hand exercises factor into the importance of the average person's life?

Like, it's just absurd that we're using GRIP STRENGTH as a reason to look down on this generation. It's so meaningless to the vast majority of careers and life situations.

Fat gripz y'all! I deadlift 415 without straps now or a belt. I used to struggle with 365 with double hook grip. In any pulling exercise, they really work.

I like to play guitar, carry my groceries is one trip, and not have carpal tunnel syndrome. So grip strength is very important to me, second to a strong healthy lower back.

Those things don't require a particularly strong grip though.

Oh old people jokes ahoy. Laughing all the way from govt funded university to job for life and cheap homes. Then laugh whilst ripping away the social programs their fathers built for them for the next generation and die laughing from their final salary pension and ballooning property bubbles making them 2000% returns.

Cunts.

*ahem*

Get a grip.

People who play guitar generally have pretty good grip, and anyone who wants to start will probably build it up as they practice. Millennials aren't cursed with some kind of incurable, atrophied t-rex hands. Also, Carpal Tunnel causes weakened hand strength, it isn't caused by it.

But you got me, some millennials probably have to walk back out to the car for groceries depending on how big of a grocery run they made. So I guess some people having to make a second trip makes us pretty much the worst.

EDIT: Nvm, since all of those points were petty as all hell, I'm actually taking back that last point, since the economy we were left is so shitty that we aren't bringing much back from the grocery store. No need for all that manly grip strength when most millennials can't afford big grocery runs.

If you want better grip strength, get yourself one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002HOOGWU/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Anecdote, but when I was doing the physical test for the police academy, they have a device that measures grip strength. A minimum of 90 pounds per hand was required. I was surprised seeing a lot of the other people fail on that, despite being able to do all the other physical requirements. Many were barely passing with scores between 90 and 100. The highest score of the people there was some super jacked guy that got 170 for one hand.
