It's sad that we can't even be sure of Wii U versions at this point. It doesn't get much easier than it being because the money is in the handheld installments. At best, you'll see Wii U versions of the mainline games in the foreseeable future.

It's probably only a matter of time before they run this franchise into the ground like they did with Resident Evil.

Don't you say that. Capgods (yes I said that) can't ruin 2 franchises, Ace Attorney, and Monster Hunter. The reason being is that they are very Japanese-centric, so they won't do any of that appeal to the west nonsense they keep on doing with the other franchises.
These MMOs are generally on the PC only, and generally in China only.Is this for PC only it looks like? If yes i am going to play it. Never tried a Monster Hunter game would be awesome though.
All of Capcom's franchises come crashing down eventually*. There will be a tomorrow where Monster Hunter is today's Mega Man.
* and still sell millions in the case of RE

While it's possible that the Monster Hunter brand and Capcom involvement might make this an exception, it being called an "officially licensed product" feels like it's fire and forget from Capcom and up to Tencent. In which case, I wouldn't hold my breath for a localisation.
As someone who has never played a Monster Hunter game but is terribly interested, I'm down to fake some IP's and play on chinese servers.
I was thinking the same thing but it is an online game. They aren't going to exploit a lot of features seen in demonstration videos.Doesn't look like Cryengine...
Really? I think it absolutely has a distinct Cryengine look, in the environments and particularly the fire effects. I mean, a Chinese MMO won't be pushing Cryengine 3 to its limit, but you know.Doesn't look like Cryengine...
The barrier previously being that you didn't own a PS2, PSP, PS3, Wii, 3DS or WiiU, I assume? You could be playing Monster Hunter Frontier right now!As someone who has never played a Monster Hunter game but is terribly interested, I'm down to fake some IP's and play on chinese servers.
Nintendo should get this on WiiU
If you are that interested you could just get one of the existing titles for PS2/PSP/Wii/WiiU/3DS. The core-gameplay hasn't changed over time.
There's a trailer in the OP.I'm not certain if I am really liking those screenshots. It seems technically more powerful, but lacks some of the charm and character of the 3DS game. I guess I need to wait to see this in motion before I can pass judgement. Animations are where a lot of the character of the series comes through.
lol sure.. compare that to character designs from the first MonHunWell... if you said this was for PS2 I would almost believe you:

If Sony had an ounce of sense theyd put this on Ps4 - we need an online PETITION!

I hope it is better than the other mh online.
This will probably end up on ps4/next box as well.
