Well, to be completely fair, Totori's already been out for awhile in Japan, so in a certain sense it's playing it a lot more safe than most of the top choices!

That's really not true at all. UC1 was a sub-par game with cool characters. UC2 was quite movie-like in its presentation and the mechanics from shooting to stealth were much better.

Maybe, but my issue is that the shooting and stealth still weren't anything special.

I'd like more actual exploring and less set pieces but I realize that's not what ND is going for. Saying the first Uncharted is subpar is pretty strange to me. What about it is subpar? By the time the shooting mechanic gets old they change up the enemy structure. ND changed up enough between the first and the second for me to be excited about the third one as well.

Hmm.. if I had to choose between Super Mario 3DS and Zelda: Skyward Sword I would probably go with Skyward Sword at the moment since I am playing Ocarina of Time right now.
