This definitely looks like a mixed response movie.

Oddly this:

I've only seen the poster, and have ignored all other noise or images from it. Going into this as dark as possible! It's actually exciting to hear they cheered and booed, could be a super interesting time!

It's certainly possible. Not sure if the rules have changed, but back in the day, it would just cost a film print and you're good to go.

This sounds like The Fountain all over again. I like Aronofsky a lot but this could be said of many of his films

Aranofsky is real hit and miss for me. I love Requiem, Pi, and the Wrestler, just like Black Swan, and kinda loathe everything else.

This one has me worried.

The Fountain's divisiveness also showed in it's reviews right out of the festival gate. There's no signs of that here.
