'Tis how we teach a lesson!

Thank god I've already seen that awesome movie.

I just saw

Which was alright but honestly there were loads of things wrong with the movie in regards to the plot. Very lame ending as well imo.

But then again I do always enjoy Buscemi.

4/10

Mostly contrived bullshit. From completely implausible/impossible situations to the farcical and ridiculous. Jolie looked awkward in almost every action scene, the motorcycle sequence in particular was a giant LOL moment, the helicopter jump (good one), the black guy letting her go (again lol).

What about Mr Sqinty Eyes being the REAL bad guy! Hahahaha, fuck me.

I watched Shaolin Soccer today. It's been a while since I've seen it, but it's still a pretty funny movie. Some of the effects are starting to show their age, but for a bit of escapist fun, it's worthwhile.

Holy shit, me and my friend used to watch this in middle school and laugh our asses off. Damn, I completely forgot about it.

Let the Right One In [2008]
it was awesome that she came back for him and pwned those fuckers

I love how it just shows Oskar's head being held underwater, and then all of a sudden you see a head falling in the background, and then the arm that was holding his head sinks revealing that it is detached
:lol

That's seriously one of my favorite scenes in a movie ever.

Another one for class,

Sullivan's Travels (1941)

Absolutely loved it. Think it's a fantastic movie and a great one that the semester is ending on. :D

It goes through so many different genres and takes you through so many different emotions. I need to watch Preston Sturges' other films.

3.5/5

It had so much potential. All the acting was fantastic. It needed some re-editing and to be about 45 min longer with some of the pointless scenes scraped. I would have given it a 4/5 if it wasn't for the motorcycle scene. I liked it a lot.

Watched Inglorious Bastards and Wolverine: Origins, well tried to watch, switched the channel after half an hour..

IB after that "Bear Jew" babbled something about homeruns and hitting balls out the park (get it? He has a baseball bat and is speaking in baseball terms hi hi), and Wolverine after he started to fight against some dude whose special power is to grow pretty fingernails (I always forget the names of these dudes, I'm sorry).

I actually liked all the X men movies (yeah, even the third) but this one was boring as hell.

I haven't seen much shitting on it from GAF, most people seem to love it.

Yeah well it's a pretty great movie.. Too bad when I recommend it to people in the store they don't want to rent it because they think it's all about wrestling.

Imagine the trouble you're going to have trying to get people to rent Black Swan. My mate Dan likes Portman and Kunis, and loves The Fountain, and he still doesn't want to watch it.

It was horrible and laughably cliche.

I mean fuck it even has Wolverine falling on his knees and yelling "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"
after his wife is killed.

It would have won the worst film I watched last year if it wasn't for Twilight: New Moon, which barely edged it out.

Stephen Chow has a direct link to my funny bone.
Can't wait for Kung Fu Hustle 2.

Enjoyed this a lot. I really ended up sympathizing for Ram.

I just watched this recently as well. A very good movie. The director has come a long way from pi and Requiem. The problem is this movie is unwatchable twice. I liked it but it was a very sad, uninspiring movie.

The Pianist - really late on this one, but this is probably one of my favorite movies I've seen this year. Brody nailed it in his role and totally deserved the Oscar for his performance, imo.

I've also started trying to watch The New World - Director's Cut and I'm about 45 minutes in. It's really beautiful to look at, but I find it kind of boring and am questioning if I should keep going.

Also about 45 in to The Ghost Writer and I'm sorry, I really like Polanski but this is just dumb so far - does it get better as it goes on, or what?

Don't. It's a cure for insomnia.

I watched the whole movie. It was a bit boring, and while it did pick up at the end, I found the ending to be rather disappointing.

the secrets in their eyes...argentinian crime drama that won best foreign feature in the 2010 aas. about a man revisiting a 25 year old crime and lost love.

i liked this quite a bit...it's got some humorous parts, some horrifying parts, some love, some justice, some wacky chronology. i mean nothing was totally groundbreaking, but it was well shot, well acted, and has that sense of underlying melancholy that i like so much.

i am watching VIDEODROME again tonight, because the BLACK SWAN trailer reminded me of it, for some reason.

also, i saw LOVE & OTHER DRUGS with a friend and i actually thought it was pretty enjoyable. there were some really heightened perspectives on what it means to be a drug representative, and the marketing scenes were stylized to the point of absurdity, but the actual romantic scenes and the handling of the parkinson's i thought was pretty textured. and i love jake gyllenhaal, god help me, so damn much. he is just cool as hell.

Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 1 : Loved it. Stunning scenery, just beautiful.

The next three days
: The first portion of the movie felt a bit slow, but after that it was a nice steady pace. Nothing extraordinary, just an entertaining movie. One nitpick i have is that
they should not have revealed that she was innocent, i like films with ambiguity

Just saw Black Swan.

Holy shit, Aronofsky has created a masterpiece. I am still rattled by the experience...Natalie Portman is brilliant in this; the emotion she bares, her transformation, her impeccable dance skills. Wow.

And that ending....just holy fuck. Chills.

Avoiding these spoilers for three months is going to boarder on impossible, I can't believe the February UK release date.

I liked it, but didn't love it. Totally agree with the bold, though.

My mom convinced me to watch "The Last Airbender," with my little brother. I was hesitant, but gave it a shot for my younger brothers sake and holy shit.

That was bad.

Hey, get it right. The movie is just called "The Last Airbender." It does not exist.

Damn. I'm going to watch this tomorrow.

I rewatched Inglourious Basterds tonight. Such an awesome movie.

My favorite scene is definitely the bar scene near the end, so suspenseful.

Crank 2: lolthefuck

Crank 2: High Voltage is still my favorite parody movie, without a doubt.

I just got around to watching Network.

This movie had a couple of rough spots, and I thought it overreached a bit in terms of what it wanted to cover, but for the majority of its running time, it was brilliant. There are some great, great performances to watch here, particularly from Finch and Dunaway. This film is dense with monologues, but nearly all of them had me transfixed. The dialogue was sharp, much of its depiction of the direction television news is taking seems to have been fulfilled today, and there were even a decent number of laughs to be had. I highly recommend this movie for anyone that is even mildly interested in television news and what it takes to get people to watch it.

Saw for the 1st time:

Gone With The Wind (1939) Directed by Victor Fleming: Not much I can say about this classic that hasn't been said 1,000 times over. Great movie, and one of those you can truly say "They don't make em like they used to."

Doctor Zhivago (1965) Directed by David Lean: I don't see as many people talk about this one as I do Lawrence of Arabia for example, but I enjoyed it just as much, if not a bit more than LoA on my first viewing. Great directing, great acting, wonderful cinematography, and great music. I was completely into it for the whole 3 hour runtime.

Re-watched:

Hellboy (2003) Directed by Guillermo del Toro

and

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008) Directed by Guillermo del Toro

I really love these 2 movies. I mean, they're nothing completely groundbreaking, but I just enjoy the hell out of them. On Blu especially, the set and costume design is amazing, and so detailed. The
Angel of Death
in part II was really cool looking, and the
Troll Market
just dripped of "Del Toro-ness." It's crazy how many of the creatures weren't CG. I just read that Ron Pearlman is warming up to the idea of making a 3rd one, and I really hope it happens. I know those 6-7 hour makeup sessions he goes through are hell, but I want to see one more.

Black Dynamite- Saw it on Netflix and decided to give it a try since I heard so many positive reviews on it. I thought it was excellent from beginning to end. I've never really watched a blaxploitation film before but I knew enough about them to understand what the film was about. It was straight up hilarious and I would recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.
