I thought the series was initially about how their brother-sister relationship improving but it seems the games and even the light novel have now made it into a harem. I mean the initial concept is not something you see in anime often, (non-romantically), but now its becoming like your average harem series: got your tsundere, yandere, childhood friend and loli. Hope season 2 redeems itself.
It won't, unless season 2 is not based on the light novels. At least with the games you can pursue a girl and not have to deal with the harem crap. In the show/books it's just nonstop harem drama stuff.

Kirino end?
Not blood related, but still...
Well, there is that, but it's not really the same. She did also have that kind of friendship end though with the protagonist which I thought was well done.

Even if this game is entirely innocent and contains no questionable content at all, it still just serves to remind me how little I understand of Japanese culture.

I mean, the name alone boggles my mind. Can you imagine how well a name like that would go down in America, or Europe, or basically anywhere outside of Japan? And don't even get me started on the weird-as-hell spelling and capitalisation in the last word.

Its almost as if the word cute has more than one meaning, some of which arent shorthand for "I want my dick in it". On English, you crazy, crazy language you.

Otaku culture. It's not like this is mainstream stuff over there. Plenty of people in Japan look down upon it too.

That's mainly because it is a direct translation. The name doesn't sound as bad or imply the same things necessarily as it does translated into English.

Otaku culture is scary sometimes. :) Funny enough the show is partly about people looking down on people if they are involved in the said culture, even if they are completely opposite of the usual stereotypes.

Just to be clear, the anime had no incest or even hint of incest. I was planning to drop it as soon as it would see some but I never did. I don't think the original novels went with that route either. No clue about the games though, they can be weird I guess.

Bullshit.

Thought the title of whatever this game is sounded all anime pedo. Went to wiki and, yeah. Sounds anime pedo.
Had you continued to read, it isn't at all.

It's essentially the story of a girl who has a secret otaku/moe hobby that she can only share with her big brother because she has a rigid image to upkeep in public.

Until that point, the big brother never knew that side of her even existed, hence the title "My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute." It's him expressing disbelief.

The show is a lot more innocent and wholesome than it sounds and is about sibling bonding, not incest.

The title is pretty innocent and harmless.

Also Kirino is obviously the best girl, followed by Saori and friendzoned girl.

Typical anime fanservice is hardly incest. I've accidentally had embarrassing situations with my sister, that doesn't mean it was incest.

Typical anime fanservice isn't a guy groping his younger sister in a show with heavy incestuous undertones.

Look at her face, the placement of her arms, the fact that we can see her underwear. The point is to make us imagine that the mc is pushing down and groping his sister to have sex with her. You cannot ignore the specific placement of this scene and others like it in a show about a girl who likes incest games, where the main title references the feelings he has for his sister, and the general relationship is almost romantic.

Just to be clear, I don't look down on people who like this sort of thing (unless it turns out to be less than innocent, in which case I'll just try to avoid looking at them at all), but it sure highlights how wide the cultural divide is.

Actually...

What? No the point is for the viewer to see her underwear, not to imagine the dude forcing himself on his sister...

Have you even watched the series? He doesn't have romantic feelings for his sister. Heck eventually (spoilers from light novel)
he even dates another girl completely, and the sister kind of fades out of the spotlight compared to earlier on.

I agree that is blatantly hinting at incest. The title also suggest some non-brotherly affections from the mc to his sister (though theres nothing wrong in thinking your younger sibling is cute) but so far in the anime the relationship between him and his sister is not romantic and I hope it stays that way.

If they wanted to shows fan service of the girl they would have had her go to the beach or something.

Look at the placement of her legs. The entire point is that it looks like he's about to sleep with his own sister.

A quick look at summaries for the games show that they have routes where he and his SISTER become a couple. So the franchise actively encourages the idea.

The anime hints at it at times probably to please the MCxsister couple fans but so far it does not encourage it at all.

I am guessing the people who are fans the above relationship (incest) do not have a younger sister or older brother in real life.

You're reading a lot more into the series than is there. The general relationship is in no way romantic, unless you consider it impossible to have a platonic relationship with a member of the opposite sex up to and including family members. The title isnt a reference to "romantic" feelings he has for his sister, its a poor overly literal translation and is a reference to his surprise that his sister isnt the complete bitch he thought she was.

You're also taking a still image from an animated sequence and interpreting it out of context. The "point" is not to make us "imagine that the mc is pushing down and groping his sister to have sex with her" as both the context and familiarity with this overly used "oh noo I slipped and grabbed an inappropriate body part and am about to get slapped, how embarassing!" trope would show.

Also I thought I'd let it be known that the two best girls are Manami and Kuroneko. Anything else, including route wise pales in comparison.

Although I do like ayase and kirino too. Saori outside of her otaku persona is nice too :D

14 year old girl obsessed with porn games revolving around brother-sister relationships = Not disturbing

lol forgot about the porn games. I just regarded them as porn which many teenages look at but forgot the context. Yeah that part is creepy. In fact when I first saw the show I though the sister was the one wanting to have an incestuous relationship with the brother but apparently its because she likes little sisters. I don't even know anymore tbh but as soon as this show go towards that incest route I am out.
