Have they announced if this is a smart delivery title yet, because that could be a work around for Xbox folks lol
Yeah, i'm sure the casino sounds and visuals will be out of this world on the next gen consoles.NBA 2k21 next-gen is being built from the ground up for next-gen, it's not a cross-gen game. I'm sure Madden and Fifa are cross-gen. I'm big NBA fan so I'll rent it from Gamefly and keep for a discount.
Think this will be the trend?
You guys ready to pay 80 bucks for the same shitty games we've been playing since the PS3 era with slightly better graphics?
I always wait and get them brand new off amazon like a month or 2 later for like 30 bucks. Last time I bought a game for full price was TLOUNope. Used game market on Ebay and Amazon is your friend.
Think this will be the trend?
The more reason to support that physical PS4/Xbox Series X sku. Think before going for that digital sku and the supposed "savings" on hardware. The used games market for physical is king.
Fuck Take Two.
Gamepass has made gaming easier for me. I game more now than ever before.Let's see what the rest of the big publishers will do, 2K is among the greediest ones so it doesn't have to mean anything.
If this is actually going be the case, then I'll definitely think about not buying any full priced games on launch (even now for me it's only a few per year).
Back in 2005 there was a huge debate too, but after experiencing it in the past many people have the inclination to NOT get upset at the inevitable. No one actually wants to pay more, such is a against self-interest. But this is capitalism, if someone can provide a better product at a lower price thats the companies prerogative to do so but it is also the companies prerogative to demand I higher price for a commodity that will still be in demand even at its higher price (especially if additional production costs are involved). If games went to $100 the price it might be prohibitive enough, and a lack of sales would drive down the price, but a $10 increase will not have that effect on the market. There really is a defense force for everything. I'm kind of impressed.
This decision is not driven by need, new market realities, or a 16% increase in development costs. They're just seeing what they can get away with at the start of a generation while everyone's out to splash a little more cash for their shiny next gen consoles.
I wish they would bring back NBA Jam. It was the only basketball title I liked to play.lol NBA live needs to come back ASAP
Omg yes, I got GoldenEye USA Import for 130 euro.Nothing new. 360 and PS3 games looked to be price higher but soon came down. Still its cheaper than the N64 era LOL
I expect this to combat “smart delivery”. Im pretty sure publishers dont enjoy Microsoft trying to force them into giving free copies.
I think paying 10 dollars to upgrade your PS4 copy into a PS5 copy is fair.
When NBA2k20 debuted in September 2019, not only was it the highest selling game that month, it became the highest selling game of the year to date in that one month.
It's fine to be salty about price increases, but you aren't thinking about it rationally if you just ignore the fact that release date MSRPs have been stable for 15 years and games like this sell tons of copies immediately at MSRP. As suggested, just wait until Black Friday or wait for it to make it to Gamepass/PS+ if you are morally opposed to paying MSRP.
Or hell, don't buy it all. I haven't bought a 2k game in years since exploiting people for VC has become the organizing principle of the development team.
