You can't play BAP in the demo.

How? I was gonna try but I couldn't find it anywhere in the settings.

The demo has 3rd period (+OT/SO) of LA-NJ, of LA-PHX and then a Tournament with a random reasonably good HUT team where you play a terrible team, then NJ, then LA, then Team USA, consecutively, if you win. Then usually your first contracts of players in your HUT team will run out and there are no contract cards, so you an just re-draw a whole team.

And why does the Kopitar we get in the Free Skate have sluggish hands compared to the one we get in the Play Now mode? It literally takes over a second to bring the puck to his backhand.

maybe you're skating faster in free skate, which then affects his deking speed and makes it slower/harder?
