What are the building restrictions in the town? 10 acres doesn't seem like much to house all of GAF. We need to build huge skyscrapers if that is all the space we get.

I think most Internet nerds are too under-motivated to do things like farm and build communities.

It would be a pretty awesome, once-in-a-lifetime venture.
Would love for a lawyer to provide some input but as far as I can understand it, a town can make its own local laws as long as it doesn't contradict federal laws, or state and county laws in which it resides.

We could legalize it but the state and fed would still consider it legal. But our local police could turn a blind eye. I doubt the feds are in the area very often.

I've always wanted to live in a mountain town! This could be the next most awesome city!
I'll go in on this. debating $500 or $1000. If done right, we could be a beacon for the rest of the US to wake the fuck up and do something great with their lives. I dream big, so I have lofty expectations. 10 acres seems sizeable, but I don't think it really is.
Can someone with city planning say how we much we can reasonably fit/build here?
With that being said, put in me for $500, I can go up to $1000 if we need a little extra oomph to get this off the ground.
Also, I like the idea of seeking some kind of sponsorship to help us subsidize this effort. If we can get some extra help with the promise of all PR/Marketing opportunities that were to come from an internet forum now owning a city in the US, go towards promoting the shit out of that brand, we can make this happen. Though it'd have to be a smaller brand, since the company itself could just buy the town for PR.
