some of y'all are straight up weird.

my attempt:

1. Sunset Blvd. (1950, Billy Wilder)
2. Eyes Wide Shut (1999, Stanley Kubrick)
3. Dazed and Confused (1993, Richard Linklater)
4. Happy Together (1997, Wong Kar-wai)
5. Under the Skin (2014, Jonathan Glazer)
6. The Long Goodbye (1973, Robert Altman)
7. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (2001, Peter Jackson)
8. Naked (1993, Mike Leigh)
9. Paths of Glory (1957, Stanley Kubrick)
10. Vertigo (1958, Alfred Hitchcock)

most of them aren't the usual canon suspects but I do adore them. shout outs to The Bicycle Thieves, Vivre sa vie, High and Low, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Sherlock Jr., Beau travail, Persona, Army of Shadows, The Passion of Joan of Arc etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

1. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
2. Spirited Away (2001)
3. Millennium Actress (2001)
4. Alien (1979)
5. The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
6. Once Upon A Time in the West (1968)
7. The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
8. Rear Window (1954)
9. The Dark Knight (2008)
10. Hero (2002)

I included Millennium Actress last minute. Just saw the movie yesterday and it blew me away. The editing is a thing of beauty.

Honorable mentions:
Princess Mononoke (1997)
Grave of the Fireflies (1988)
My Neighbour Totoro (1988)
Witness for the Prosecution (1957)
Aliens (1986)
Back to the Future (1985)

Yeah, I love me some Ghibli. It was a hard decision to not put them all in but I really wanted to cut the list down to one film per director.
But I also have to admit there are many classics I haven't seen yet, like 12 Angry Men, Lawrence of Arabia or any Kurusawa movie.

1. Lawrence of Arabia (1962)

I haven't updated the list in a while. Been super busy, and my computer crapped out on me - so I had to purchase all new components and build another from scratch.

I probably won't have the chance to update anything till this weekend, so it makes sense to leave voting open until Friday/Saturday.

This is hard.

Sticking to the one film per director rule:

1. The New World (Terrence Malick, 2005)
2. Late Spring (Yasujiro Ozu, 1949)
3. Nights of Cabiria (Federico Fellini, 1957)
4. L'Atlante (Jean Vigo, 1934)
5. Rosemary's Baby (Roman Polanski, 1968)
6. Dead Man (Jim Jarmusch, 1995)
7. Cleo from 5 to 7 (Agnès Varda, 1962)
8. Happy Together (Wong Kar-Wai, 1997)
9. INLAND EMPIRE (David Lynch, 2006)
10. Brazil (Terry Gilliam, 1986)

I wanted to fit in Spirited Away (Hayao Miyazaki, 2001) and The Shining (Kubrick, 1981). I'm probably forgetting a lot of stuff.

This is pretty hard to nail down. I guess I can just change mine like everyone else up till the finish.

1. Lost in Translation (2003)
2. Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
3. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
4. In Bruges (2008)
5. The Incredibles (2004)
6. Die Hard (1988)
7. My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
8. Ratatouille (2007)
9. Hot Fuzz (2007)
10. Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

Mad Max and Shaun the Sheep are actually pretty close for me right now, but I'll give em some more time and let the high die down. Thinking more on Aardman now, I feel like Were-Rabbit might actually deserve a spot.
