But for a while we called it the Nintendo, then the Super Nintendo came out, so to differenciate we called them the Regular Nintendo and Super Nintendo.

NES. And for the SNES, I've noticed a lot of US folk on YouTube and the like pronounce it as S-N-E-S. But I've always called it Super Nintendo (I think the majority of Europe as well).

Nobody is going to even try to pronounce FBI or VGA as a word, but NES and GAF are both easily parse-able into regular speech.

As a kid, I knew SNES as Super Nintendo, but after years of exposure on the internet, I ended up calling it 'Σνες'. As for NES, I first came to know it as NES (as opposed to 'Nintendo Entertainment System') so I never really called it "the Nintendo". I pronounced it "Νες" (ie. Ness) at first, but nowadays I use N-E-S and Ness interchangeably.

Frankly though, there aren't many situations where I have to actually pronounce it, so I wouldn't say I've exercised any kind of pronunciation much.

I'm with others though, i usually said the "Nintendo" or ""Super Nintendo". I have never known a single person from my generation (I am 45) that said nes or snes.

I can see younger generations doing that though. I always tell my daughter that kids today are lazy talkers
