New BF:Bad Company 2 trailer/screens

So if you pay more you get multiplayer cheats? "Get the day one advantage." That sounds pretty shitty. Coaxial gun, vehicle motion sensor, improved armor... Sounds like LE tanks will destroy everything until everyone else has caught up with the unlocks.

The LE cover is cheap too. Just a simple black bar. Booo! Also it confuses me by saying "six exclusive unlocks". Guessing the "exclusive" bit is a typo.

Looks like they're undoubtedly really putting focus on multiplayer this time around (see the tagline and nametags). Hope the single player won't fall to the wayside. Bad Company had potential in that area. Basically, fix the AI and everything's hunky dory.

So what does that REALLY mean? That means those weapons will ONLY be available on the Limited Edition, or does it mean they'll be available upfront on the Limited Edition, but you can get them on the regular edition as long as you get to level XX (like the Gold Edition of Bad Company)?

It means they will be available right away for LE owners, and unlocakable for SE owners. I could be wrong but I think the LE is going to be only $60 similar to the BlazBlue LE deal (limited avail.).

In other words, just like the Gold Edition of Bad Company 1.

In other different words, who cares.

I just hope this comes to Steam day-and-date with the PC release.

What the shit is with this SERIOUS BUSINESS cover? It's not Bad Company at all. Well other than the player names hovering above the vehicles I guess.

Hot shit.

Looks fantastic. Loving the art direction. Though this shot totally reminds me of a level from Half Life 2!

Thank you for those sweet looking ramps DICE. The only problem is they appear to be not facing each other, thus making it impossible for two vehicles to fly over one another, or collide in midair. Please do something about this oversight.

And there are jets in this game? How didn't I know this? Hope it's the slowest jet ever.

Well yeah if there's no one else on your team interested in defending. But that's not the important bit, the point is that the dynamic isn't fun. Hopping in a vehicle only to have the missile warning pop up as soon as you leave the base is a largely passive experience that punishes a player for driving out of the base. It's simply not fun. Compare that to fighting a guy with a RPG. Your both actively engaged in trying to kill each other. Die in a tank then and you get punished for say, driving into an enemy town without clearing out buildings. Or maybe simply for having shitty aim, but at least you were doing something. It's far more rewarding and fun system.

The big question though is what Dice will do with it I guess. Can't remember, are there any details on how/if the LD will be integrated into BC2
well, i can see how that sucks, but i've been on both sides so many times that i guess i just take it in stride. if i get close enough to the enemy base to LD camp their tanks, then i figure i earned the right by getting so close undetected. and if i get LD'ed when i drive a tank out of my base, i assume my team isn't doing enough and head out the next spawn to find and kill the sniper.

ET TU DICE?

a few of my friends are gonna be so upset about this.

Ok, so.. Server browsing is a valid point.

No proning. Ok. But people are really going to start a riot about it?

What else are we pc people going to complain about? OMG there's no 256 color version of the icon for Windows 7? OUTRAGE!

No prone is fine with me. Less camping please, more fightning. :p There is plenty of brush for ghillied snipers to crouch in.

so on the new box cover art for the game, the guy is holding what looks like an m4? so does this mean, this will be in the game finally?

There were a number of times in BF:BC when I was on top of a building being shot, and if I was able to go prone, I would have survived. It's really fucking annoying in those moments, but not really a huge deal. It's just more of a "wtf.... really? The games balance can't survive going prone?"

It just sorta reminds of the odd thought process behind other decisions in BC1 like 'gee it takes a ridiculous amount of bullets to kill someone ...... obviously the clips need more bullets!' I think most would go, maybe you should increase bullet damage. Similarly here, maybe the problem isn't the ability to go prone, there just going about it the wrong way again.

Anyway, can't wait to get home, so I can actually watch that video.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

No!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Yes!

Or maybe, it would be cool, kinda like it when games do it, ads an extra reward for putting a 50 cal into a players face. :D

i don't even know how to respond to this. mainly because i'm not a PC gamer and couldn't care less. i do know that some of my friends (who are PC gamers) will be upset, since they were looking forward to prone and the game not being "a dumbed down console port".

Pretty annoying that they decided to remove prone again. I don't really see why devs have to do stuff like this when it's obviously a feature that a lot of people want in the game.

Still looks pretty damn good tho' and it'll probably be a day one purchase for me.

Motion sensor on the LE Abrams is some horseshit. The coaxial and improved armor I don't really have a problem with. Might make encounters a little more exciting actually.

But motion sensor is horseshit.

Maybe it's something like what Ubisoft did with Far Cry 2? Where for the price of a regular version, you got a special edition. But that was at Gamestop (the last time I ever went there).

I'm not sure how this limited edition works. Per-order only maybe?
