There is zero proof they've done anything but.
Which was great, because it meant you had options. Dropping stuff on people was fun, but so was watching some dumb schmuck pick up a live mine that you could still detonate and use as a distraction.Blood Money had remotely detonated mines that you yourself placed in the environment. You COULD be an idiot about it and put it randomly on the ground, but you could also place the mine on a chandelier and blow it up as your target is under it.
It is, but ultimately it's just another environmental tool for you to mess with. The ones that are actually big bright red barrels a little earlier in the trailer worry me more. The thing in the video is just a video game red barrel. That's kinda different.
Stuff like this was great. Shooting out the bottom of the glass pool was another high visibility, high entertainment solution I loved. And that's really what the Hitman experience comes down to for me. Playing the silent assassin is all well and good, but when the designers give you so many tools and the fundamental goal is simply "don't get caught", then yeah, I'm probably going to cause a little havoc on my way. It's not unlike Deus Ex in that regard, just without the superhuman abilities and robots.I did like tweaking the BBQ grill in Blood Money causing it to explode when used though. It wasn't silent but it was stealthy![]()
I thought the trailler was well done.
Then again, I have never played a Hitman game, so I can't get appropriately outraged about it.
Yeah that's not creative, stealthy, or fun. That kind of stuff is meant for the bros this game is trying to attract.
Blur/Digital Domain > Visual Works.![]()
Why do you care so much how someone might play a game? I don't get it. I never fired a gun in my first HR playthrough-half, wen't gun blazing from then on from time to time just because it's fun and diverse. How dare them add options.
As I keep saying in the stealth thread when there's too many options for non stealth stuff you get bad or mediocre stealth games. Human Revolution included. Choice is not a good thing in this regard. There should be 100 different choices for how to stealthily accomplish your goal, but good shooting mechanics and shooting at all really shouldn't be an option. Or a good option at least, they should make it where you're swarmed by dozens of people at the slightest alarm for punishment of exposing yourself.
That's true, I agree.
Hitman was never a true stealth game though.

Because they havent shown the CORE gameplay.
But it was a game about being a Hitman and performing hits.
The core gameplay was shown in trailers, but I suspect you are talking about big open levels?
Well, yeah, but we have no diea how big those missions were we only saw a glimpse of.
They're doing the suburban home holding a birthday party thing again to a T.The point is that we have seen nothing like the first level in Hitman 2 (Anathema, I think) or the suburbia mission in Blood Money, the missions that I remember most when I think of Hitman. All we've seen gameplay wise is 47 taking out police one by one in a dilapidated building, and trailer wise we get hot battle nuns.

Again, if this is just the marketing root they're taking, I'll admit I was wrong and play the shit out of the game, but to not show anything like the aforementioned levels doesn't really inspire hope for me.
i'm assuming you didn't see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUz2mmXEBzE

It's one third of the stealth trinity to me at least (Splinter Cell and Thief the others). It was a different kind of stealth, hiding in open, but it was still stealth. And the shooting was always janky and terrible and you were punished a bit for going all out.
The same exact shit?
Oh no this changes everythiung!

The portion of the trailer about dragging bodies and melee kills does feature people dying, yes. It's cut to show off game mechanics. The point was that they are in fact still doing some of the unusual locations the series is known for. I hope this one in particular doesn't play out exactly the same as the one in Blood Money, or I might as well just play Blood Money. The only people in that scene are two bad guys and he proceeds to murder one of them. The only way you can compare it to that mission in Blood Money is if you haven't played Blood Money.

The sniper challenge they put out answers this perfectly. Your entire point is to take out a high profile target.
That's nice they did that for a minigame, now how about the main game.
My point wasn't about people getting dead, it was about the fact that there's only two people there. That makes it kind of the opposite of a good example of Absolution having any Hitman gameplay in it.
For fuck's sake people, this is what a Hitman level looks like. There are people there. It's not about killing them or not because stealth and choices, they are just people. All they've shown us so far are rooms of people you have to deal with in some manner. That's Splinter Cell, fans are expecting Hitman.
I am sure you do kill high profile targets in this game. That's not even a good question.
He avoided those cops just fine by being dressed up like one in one part of that trailer - no idea what you are arguing with.
Than why do I not see this happening anywhere.

I'm really hoping this is nothing more than, "Hey let's release an absolutely ludicrous trailer right before E3, that way everyone will want to check the game out to find out if it is an actual trainwreck or a real hitman game."
In the gameplay demonstration they showed him getting there and it was pretty much a straight corridor from the library to the police station. That's where he got the cop clothes from - the library scene we've all seen. Which kind of means you are forced to wear the cop clothes to even proceed.

considering the ratings and likes its getting on facebook/twitter and gametrailers, i'd say the hating is most vocal on gaf.
Blur trailers are awful.

Do you honestly think that they made their engine able to handle large crowds if they weren't planning on having a lot of people in certain scenarios.
No.and unlike Square CG shit, Blur trailers most of the time reflect/or give hints about how the game will actually play (like Dishonored and Prey 2) they most likely make their CG trailers based on some gameplay footage they got from the devs, and that why they are awesome.
Well I guess if the FB, GT and youtube like it it's gotta be good, right?
Yeah, no civilians anywhere to be seen.My point wasn't about people getting dead, it was about the fact that there's only two people there. That makes it kind of the opposite of a good example of Absolution having any Hitman gameplay in it.

Did you even watch the trailer?
