New Hot Shots Golf 5 Info and Screens

Thanks to kpop for the menu translation earlier. If anyone gets chance it would still be great for captures of as many menus (options, pre-games etc) as possible to we can know what we're doing ahead of time. I got my tracking number this morning, should have the game Monday.

And I don't think we should be too worried about online until it's fully up and running (with free mode) and people outside Japan/Asia have a chance to report back.

I did make a start yesterday but scrapped it because everything in those screens was completely obvious, except for the post-match run down with the requirements and what you actually achieved next to it. I'll translate those if you need me to, otherwise everything else should be easy, especially now we have the menus.

Still 'processing' for me, grr, looks like it won't ship until tomorrow.
 
There are a few things on those screens I wasn't sure of:

The text above the 31%, what's that?

On the 'PAR' screen there are SQUARE, CIRCLE and L1 (presuming SQUARE is replay and CIRCLE is continue, not played the demo in a while)

On the replay screen there's TRIANGLE, X and SQUARE (square was replay again I think)

And yeah there's plenty of stuff on the tournament screens. I like to knowing everything.

If you get a chance it'd be cool but no worries if you're busy.

The text above 31% says 'greens in regulation', as it does on the after match screen. Well, it doesn't, but I think that's the most appropriate translation.

IIRC, this is the percentage of holes where you reach green in par-2
 
Can anyone with the game take a pic of the character select screen? Curious about the open slots that may be for costume changes/character customization.

When you start the game you have 2 costumes and 4 empty slots for new costumes. :D

Yeah, that's what I love about it. Just like real golf it's almost impossible without a good amount of skill, but then you need a brilliant stroke of luck to get you all the way there.

I have been placing shots from that distance right around the cup consistently, but yeah you have to get a little lucky for one to drop right in.

The wait for the game to arrive is getting worse though...
 
taking the game online is incredibly easy, when u choose to play online mode its gives u a prompt asking you to download 355 files.......after that its away you go smile.gif .

oh and if u dont have a japanese machine, it wont let you download the file.

Just found this on another site i vist, so without a japan ps3 you cant get online as it wont let you download the file to get online with.

Everybody’s Golf 5 is off to a strong start in Japan. The game has already sold more than 150K on its first day release. A total of 300 copies were shipped out. Many stores in Japan are reporting that , they have already sold out of the number of shipments they received.

The game has not been dated for the other regions yet. We will keep you posted

Thats not exactly whats written there. They are saying that various retailers reporting 50% sell out indeed. And that they think that at the end the game will sell more than Gundam (which was at around 300k).

The actual numbers are still unknown and will be reported in the next few days.

Yeah, had always planned to, the missus won't touch it in Japanese. Hopefully the UK version will be out towards the end of August in place of Lair.

the characters look good, but I did shrink those pics a bit. Blim's pictures earlier in this thread are a better indication of the look.

150K sold. The game had pre-orders of about 300K before launch and with the great reviews that famitsu had regarding the game, i expect that number to sky rocket even more
 
If this game tracks your overall stats what happens in multi-player? ie. can you load another profile or does it only track it for single player.

Wow that character select screen is nothing like the one from the demo, i was expecting a small tweak here and there but this is completely different.

Whenever one of you unlocks a costume change please post a pic from the char select screen and on the course, curious how much effort they put into it since the player models pretty detailed in their default stuff.
 
Excellent, YesAsia have now said it'll be another 14 days before my pre-order is shipped. I'll get it about 3 days before the UK one comes out... =)
