I hope that they're working on that, even if they have to resort to Mercenaries 3D-esque tricks to get the framerate smooth. It's a really intriguing spin on Mercenaries, even if the health bars and damage outputs look really unnecessary.

I assumed this before but looks like Rachel (along with her hair) mutate. Guess she's going to be like the Birkin/Nemesis of this game.

I honestly stopped caring about the story after RE0. RE4 story was over the top but it didn't stop me from enjoying it. RE5 took it to another level but it was more the co-ops fault I couldn't really enjoy it.

I feel this brings the best of both. A single player campaign to enjoy and a co-op I can play with my friends that isn't forced. This game looks like it's going to be a ton of fun.

I cant wait to play this game. It will be nice to see how ridiculous it gets and hopefully a scary and intriguing ride.

If only the game would turn out good, really good. Feels like an eternity withouth a worthy Biohazard game.

Enemy design in Revelations has been shit so far. :(

For me, what impressed more are the graphics. I mean, think in the the best looking games for XBOX with indoor environments, like Riddick and Doom 3, and this game looks better.

Capcom is a true graphical master. And if they can archive that kind of visuals in the beginning of the 3DS's life, I can't imagine what we will see more ahead.

The actual gameplay videos show plenty of jaggies.

We both wish it looked anywhere close to the bullshots (and moved at a smooth framerate to boot).

Still the best looking 3DS game so far.

But Alexia was in control of her powers, while Rachel looks like she's just gonna be along the lines of Birkin. Possibly popping out everywhere.
 
I'm really looking forward to the new writer they got for this series. Cowboy Bebop was always a cool series, so hopefully Dai Sato can make an interesting story. I also want to see the new 3D mode; my eyes are going to bleed...
 
Surprised about the little interest this game has had on GAF as a whole. Hell not even the mods have come to change the title saying there's a new trailer and media blowout.

If this ends up being as good as I'm hoping I'll absolutely buy a 3DS for it. Although with my luck they'll announce a hardware revision for the system the day after.

Surprised, really? This looks no better than Resident Evil 5, hell I think it will probably end up being an even bigger turd. Add to that the fact that it's on a handheld instead of a console. All in all I'm not shocked by the general lack of interest.

Speaking of which, wonder whatever happened to RE Portable for the PSP? It's like they announced it and forgot about it. They did that before with DMC PSP and it took them years to say 'oh yeah we're not actually making that'.

I believe they've explicitly stated that Revelations is not RE Portable as well.

Lord only knows. I think pieces of the concept fell into Revelations but we have no way of knowing. Lord knows how many prototypes of RE4 were made.

I'm decently hyped for this though. Looks like it has an RE:Mercs of its own, and the fact that is has taken so long can only make me belief it's atleast 7+ hours. Worthy of my 40 bucks I'd say.

I don't really see the RE5 comparisons, up to pre-release, 5 looked good, but suffered from the AI companion, and carbon copy set pieces from 4. This other than the scanning mechanic looks like it's shaping up quite nicely.

But yeah, I supposed I'm not that shocked because GAF seems to be allergic to anything 3DS, but it's still pretty much a mainline RE. Just look at ORC, that gets tons of pages, even if they're mostly negative.

It looks like they're at least attempting to make it survival-horrorish again, despite the silly global terrorism story.

Plus it's built around single player.

Is this based on anything? The gameplay doesn't look like RE5's...it looks closer to the older games, or at least RE4 and the story is being written by someone who actually knows what they're doing.

Also, LOL at the handheld hate. That comment alone is almost enough to make me just denounce your post

He has a point though. You won't see this title garner the kind of attention it should get for the sole fact that it's on a handheld. And a Nintendo handheld, no less. Hell, there was even a preview from either IGN or Gamespot, I'll look it up in a moment, that complains that the game is too good for the 3DS.

I mean, I'll take my good games anyway I can get them so I don't care about the platform dealio but, as you can probably guess from the things people write, handhelds apparently aren't deserving of some of great titles that get made for them.
 
I'm not hating on the fact that it's a handheld game. I'm completely fine with it, but in general it means a game gets less attention.

I will gladly purchase the game if it turns out to be good, because graphically it sure looks great, and I could use an excuse to get a 3DS. However the gameplay clips give me zero confidence in the game. Will it be as action packed as the RE5? Probably and hopefully not, but the gameplay clips are stilling giving me a bad vibe. The enemy design and scanning in particular.
 
So psyched for this game. Not so psyched for the rumored $50 pricetag.

Edit: Poster above me nails it. Amazon has it for $39.99!

I'm going to try to get it in my goldbox!
 
Revelations is looking great. I'm glad they didn't just take RE4/RE5 and plant them on a handheld -- they're clearly tailoring it to the 3DS's abilities.

(That said, an RE4 port to 3DS and/or Vita would be fucking awesome.)

I'm pretty sure that's a confirmed price tag. A capcom rep confirmed it, amazon has the msrp at $50 as well.
