New Watch Dogs PS4 Gameplay/Previews

Well I guess Ubisoft is lucky. There's not much else to play on current gen consoles right now so many people will buy it out of desperation.

I'm really not seeing how anyone says this game looks bad. The second video of just the drive around I thought looked excellent with a lot on screen. To each his own I suppose.

Pretty much. There's nothing of note coming out until August.
Even a shallow game that fails to realize its original potential will sell gangbusters to a starving, thirsty crop of current-gen gamers.

I didn't think this was the Titanfall thread.

Ubi is good at generating hype. Why did I also pre-order this?):

Never pre-order anything. I even cancelled my Dark Souls II pre-order. (then bought it used for $50 a week after it released).

One exception is Nintendo games. I pre-ordered Mario Kart 8 with full confidence that it would be good (the free game offer made me) Nintendo's seal of quality lives on!

Wow, so much hate in here lol. I understand that this is a cross gen title so I'm not going to complain too much about the graphics. Car physics don't look bad at all. I'll take a wait and see approach with the hacking. Like others have mentioned, it may make the game too easy if the mechanic is overpowered.

Look at that next gen graphical disappointment.

Also a Ubisoft "AAA" game so will be rubbish.
A game developed for 37 different platforms is bound to not look that phenomenal.

This is terrible advice because you can often find really good deals. Why would i not pre-order a $60 game for $45 when i know for a fact i am going to buy that game day 1? Why would i go spend $15 more? If you can't find any deals then i can see where you are coming from on the waiting thing but if you know you are going to buy something day 1 and can get a deal by pre-ordering you would be stupid not to take that deal.

Besides, you can cancel pre-orders.

Not a lot of pedestrians in the playstation access video. Also, it looks like ass on "next-gen" consoles. What a disappointment.

EDIT: Payed online, under-powered, and most likely a 5-6 year life cycle. Sounds like a losing proposition. I can't even play digital PS1/PS2 classics on the PS4 (Fuck PSNow).

AWWW . so then leave

Stealth looks really good, and looks to be a viable playstyle. it's how I'll be playing.

Yeah when stealth/CQC is an option that tends to be my way. Why be a guy shooting when you can be a stealthy karate master.

SECRET. HAXX0R MAN!

SECRET. HAXX0R MAN!

He'll Haxx your shit and look good in the rain

edit: as far as complaints go I've now stopped caring about my own since I'm renting the game through gamefly.

I don't have a problem with the graphics. This just doesn't seem like kind of game I was expecting or want to play.

I didn't want gunplay. I don't want crazy driving mechanics or physics (did you see some of those jumps or flying light posts?). I don't want a jamming soundtrack.

I wanted a realistic and somewhat low key game with some artistic license in regards to the tech/hacking mechanics.

You knew it was gonna have gunplay, driving, and big ass jump physics in it from the very first trailer. Are you just now hearing about this game?

Yeah same here, I wanted something fresh, this is a gta clone and not a very good one.

Apparently you can hack bullets to shoot at 90 degree angle.

I an amazed.

I stopped watching after the car wheels didn't turn as the car turned. It actually looks like the car is ice skating without any momentum. Lots of object pop in and the game looks disappointing visually. The shooting looks off as well. I haven't played the game so i can't speak to the gameplay aspect of it but i am sure that this will be the worst looking open world game released on xbox one and ps4.

What is the deal with TheCloser? Almost every one of his posts are devoted to speaking bad about the game in hyperbolic terms.

Does anyone know how much of a faithful recreation of Chicago the game is?

The Downtown area certainly looks like Chicago, but those big hills with tunnels cutting through them and pretty much everything else that isn't downtown looks completely off. Its like they took the city and dropped it in new england or something. It's really starting to bug me as it isn't an accurate depiction of my hometown at all. I'd go as far as to say Midtown Madness from 1999 captured the atmosphere of the city better...

Yes, I am really not convinced by the driving model which is one of the most important things for me in GTA. It looks super arcadey and not fun at all. (Maybe a bit better than Sleeping Dogs though)

Car models are embarrassing as well.

I think its safe to say that the launch trailer was not console footage. The lighting in the ps4 footage is so non existant in parts

Some peoples graphical expectations really were too high for a cross gen game. I think it looks decent which is all I ever expected from WD.

The various Ubisoft trailers get rendered on a $3,000 PC and that's the only footage that Ubisoft releases in an attempt to fool all their customers into thinking that's what it will look like on their console or PC of choice. Caveat Emptor.

is it me or the tires on the cars dont move when you're turning? it looks like the cars is on ice, i was one of the few that was pushing for this to be good but it has so many things that are unacceptable man, if i ended up picking this up its gonna be for dirty cheap

Visually it is disappointing. The physics also fails a lot sometimes. But actually the game looks quite fun! But I prefer to invest my money on a Xbox One right now with Live Gold and Dead Rising 3. I may wait for a promotion on the future!

I dont know... Actually I would be pretty excited for this game if it was announced like Sleeping Dogs did, with no bullshots or fake gameplay videos. And I dont like this kind of posture, for the most common it is becoming on the game industry.

That 90 degree shooting is uncalled for in this day and age of TPS games.. That is Uncharted 1 bullshit. The graphics of this game go from amazing to mediocre from video to video.

"Dr. Therapist, I can pinpoint the exact moment my life went spiraling out of control. It was when I realized the virtual tires on the virtual car weren't moving. I realized I had been living a lie. I can never be a complete person. Thx Ubisoft."

Anyone else have a problem with the driving mechanics and the car models, or is it just me.

Driving in open world games is something I'm obsessed with. So it's a big deal to me. Pretty upsetting. Not only that, it seems the variety is lacking. GTAV did it right in my opinion. Loved everything about the vehicles, from the mechanics to the models to the variety to the surprisingly deep customization.

Damn it.

They were wise to delay, would have gotten destroyed had it come out close to GTA V.

If a next gen GTA V is released, it will look better than this.

Definitely. And theyre releasing it in a period where is pratically no big releases. Many will only buy it because they have nothing else to buy this month.

I hope the critics do this game justice on their reviews. It will be pretty stupid to see a 8.5 or 9 out of a 10 coming through this. I mean... the game can be fun, but with so many flaws and that bs marketing it doesnt deserve that much.

If I could, I would recommend people on PS4 to bet on Transistor prior to this. Such a smaller title but much more interesting imho.

For being a cross-gen, open world game, I think it looks excellent. I'm not sure what people were realistically expecting.
