New Zelda Wind Waker HD videos

No Tingle Tuner means that super swim and zombie hover are unfeasible.

pretty sure super swim is doable without tingle tuner.

zombie hover would need some new (or old) setups, though. even still, I think the changes to the game (faster boat, faster text, intro skip) will speed it up significantly enough that sub 4 is feasible.

Also that 30 minutes of footage reconfirmed how much I loved this game.
Yeah, the 30 minutes of footage is great, although there seems to be slowdown in strange places (Helmaroc King carrying Link up to Ganondorf, Link scaling the waterfalls outside of Forest Haven, etc). Maybe it's just the video upload?

Sorry if this is a bit ott.

This needs to be reposted on every page of this thread.

Minor spoilers-a reviewer at zeldainformer is saying that there's more charts in the game and and at least one item has been moved from a side quest reward to a treasure chart.

"Hero's Charm has been replaced with Treasure Chart #45 which is for a 200 Rupee chest. The Hero's Charm has replaced the Heart Piece in the 50-floor dungeon on Outset Island. I still don't know where the relocated Heart Piece is."

so what exactly was changed about the triforce hunt?

only three of the Triforce shards require Triforce Charts- the other five will be picked up directly in place of the original charts. At some point during the game's main quest, you'll now be diverted to tingle island to help players figure out how to translate the charts.

Guys. I've never played Wind Waker before. I'm excited. Even more excited for this than the release of GTA V. October isn't far away now. Am I in for a great ride? I can't wait :^》

I'm so happy right now... This game is amazing, saoiling through this wonderfull world, with that artstyle... in 1080p...

It's like a dream come true !

EDIT : Gamecube wasn't that successfull... I wonder how many gamers actually played this game.

Oh god, those gifs...THOS GIFS!!!
I'm really excited also for the new triforce quest, that really was a nightmare in the original game...

It's one of the greatest Nintendo games ever I think. I wish I could experience for the first time again ;)

Here's another new WWHD commercial for Japan:

Here's the same commercial in 1080p.

Btw, the tagline for the commercials is WiiUで遊べるアニメーション - "A playable cartoon/anime on WiiU"

Not sure if the "playable cartoon"-angle has been used before by Nintendo. I think it's a clever way to market it anyway.

'Playable cartoon' was exactly how I described the game to a friend back in the day. He was sceptical, and even though he didn't ask, I lent him my GC and WW a few months later to 'prove' it to him. I remember him ringing me after he'd just done that first lava dungeon saying that was exactly what it felt like.

I don't want to sound like those people who claim to know what's best for Nintendo's marketing department, but I think Zelda advertisements have, to a certain extent, become to reliant on the Zelda brand. People with knowledge of the Zelda brand know that they are games of consistent quality, instead they should focus on selling it to people who have never heard of Zelda before. "A cartoon you can play yourself!" would be a great tagline, I think.

This thread has (almost) convinced me to get a Wii U today.

I need one final push. What, besides WW HD, is a 'must have' for the system? Though I'm not super interested in the 2D Mario.

This looks like it will be a must have. Also NSMBU. Best 2D Mario. You gotta have it! :P

For me personally, Pikmin 3 justifies the Wii U. Others worth dipping in to include Rayman Legends, NSMBU, Zombi U, Wonderful 101 and Lego City. The library is currently limited, but it will improve, particularly over the next few months.

Edit: I missed the 2D Mario bit on first pass, ignore NSMBU.

I'm thinking Wonderful 101 + Pikim/Zombie U. I might get Earthbound as well. Maybe.

Thanks guys.

What sort of genres are you into?

All sorts - though I'm burned on FPS and 2D platformers a bit at the moment.

I know. I just wish they would have added that, especially since they have tweaked the soundtrack in other ways. It just sound so much better with the bass.
Any reason why they took the bass out originally?
I'm guessing it has something to do with the gameplay-music balance; The "rhythm" of the game, as Kondo often refers to it. Perhaps they felt the bass was too overpowering, whereas removing it gave for a fluttery, soaring feeling -- coinciding with the vertical nature of the island.

The sound team at Nintendo does tend to take this philosophy to stupid heights, though. Take, for example, the idiotic decision not to mute the enemy encounter music in TP during "Midna's Lament". They were so pre-occupied with "micro" context, they missed the forest for the trees.
