More like 7 years vs 6 years, but to answer that graph...something everyone has to remember is that PS3/360 were different enough in their games library (considering the console exclusives) where a lot of people purchased both. Same with the Wii; LOTs of people purchased all three systems that gen.

This gen? PS4 was more or less always the XBO but even better, being more powerful and with way less BS, and with wider range of 1st party exclusives/console exclusives to boot. So for a lot of people buying an XBO was redundant therefore they didn't do it. And Nintendo was a non-starter until the Switch came out, 4 years after PS4 and XBO.

If PS3/360 were more like PS4/XBO that 171 million would be a lot less because one of those systems would've just been seen as the all-around inferior option and a redundant purchase. That wasn't the case, however.

Komachi word “tremendous” is related to most AMD chips being final in C0 or C1 revision... E1 means they had to make a lot o revisions not usual for AMD (C0 to E0... each letter means it can have up to 10 revisions).

And revisions can add even cores... Phenon X4 is revision C1 but Phenom X6 was released at E0.

Letter changes means in most cases big changes while numbers means more fixes or adjustments.

Yeah but the bulk of their sales were before 2013, before PS4 and XBO launched. So in terms of effective commercial market relevance, about 7 years for PS3, 8 years for 360.
