The funny thing is...
AMD is showing these things now, and if you look at the TDP and such, it seems to be fitting.
But ok, look.. this is somehow a wishful thinking and such but it does not seem that you have to burn down the house in order to get 3 TFLOP in a console form factor.

I don't want to be rude to the Insomniac guys but I don't think MS would want to sign an exclusive with them. They make creative games but they don't really become big hits. Seems like Sony just kept the Resistance franchise going to have something to pit against Halo and the Ratchet & Clank series kind of fizzled out on PS3. My judgement also tells me Fuse will bomb in a similar manner to games like Brink and Blur and will be buried by an onslaught of standout titles from competitors. MS goes after the money makers (90s Rare, COD brand, Square, etc.)

A combo of taking a loss (par the course for consoles), the subsidy program and recouping from games, services and whatever money making schemes they have conjured up.

I don't want to be rude to the Insomniac guys but I don't think MS would want to sign an exclusive with them. They make creative games but they don't really become big hits. Seems like Sony just kept the Resistance franchise going to have something to pit against Halo and the Ratchet & Clank series kind of fizzled out on PS3. My judgement also tells me Fuse will bomb in a similar manner to games like Brink and Blur and will be buried by an onslaught of standout titles from competitors. MS would never get them to do new IP, but if they want to revive some old Rare IP and don't have enough resources there, Insomniac are a good fit.

If it bombs it wouldn't be Insomniacs fault (after they're competent at making games).

What about the gamers that like variety in what they play? A studio like Insomniac shines doing their own thing in their own way and don't need a four hundred million budget and need to sell sixteen million copies to be successful.

I personally would value studios that focus on fun rather than necessarily metacritic and topping NPD charts.

I still feel MS's best conference opening is the one they started with Cliffy B.

If I was them I would do something similar this time. Cold Open with a game play demo of an exclusive. That sends an immediate message to the viewers, they can get into the Box specifics after that.

I can see Insomniac signing up with MS, I doubt they will work with EA again now that the EA partners program is dead.
