Indy saw that KC was in better shape to get Luck.

Polian wasn't having that.

Gary Brackett and Melvin Bullitt both put on IR today.

"And we're starting that Painter kid for the rest of the year," Polian said.

And they released Justin Tyron. Guess thats alright, because, you know, JACOB LACEY IS SOOOO GOOD AT FOOTBALL.

Eh, what a day, what a season.

EDIT: Also, I think we've seen the last of both Brackett and Bullitt in Colts unis. I think Angerer takes over MLB and they simply just cut ties with Bullitt (which they should have already done).

Might as well start casting the inevitable movie that'll spring from the scandal of Indy throwing games for the #1 draft pick.

Thinking Jason Statham as Peyton, Michael Cera as Curtis Painter, and Kevin James as Ben Roethlisberger.

Larry Zierlein just gave the steeler's offense/defense a great nod of approval. We don't have a chance vs. Mendy and if we worry about Wallace? Mendy looked like shit against the colts and he's still lethal? Please. At least try Redman, who looked good in preseason.

Steelers looked like shit against the Colts. The Colts. The same team that the Texans dropped like a sack of potatoes. And the team we're playing against next had a hard time with them? If Painter had Delhomme accuracy, the Colts would have won. He missed wide open receivers, overthrew a fade in the endzone that coulda been a TD, and looked helpless for three total drives that the Steelers did nothing with when they got the ball back. Schaub is a bit of a puss sometimes, but at least he can deliver the ball more than 10% of the time.

What a terrible interview. Learned nothing except Mendy likes to bounce it to the outside, we shoulda gotten more TD's instead of FG's, and Steelers weren't as bad as they looked. I think Migs coulda given a better analysis.

If Indy gets Luck does that mean they would look into trading Peyton?

Imagine being able to get Peyton Manning, even at 80% efficiency, through a trade? Unless you had a young franchise qb you would have to be an idiot not to try and get him. I mean an over the hill Brent took the Vikings within a turnover or two to the Superbowl (in a game they probably win 8 out of 10 times against the Saints). Just imagine what Peyton Manning could do on a new team...

Would be nice to get Peyton out of the AFC as well...

In Delhomme's defense that was a relatively small broad side of a barn.

Plus, we all know he wasn't throwing it to the barn anyway, he was throwing it to Steve Smith.

...in triple coverage.

...while he had Moose wide open on the other side.

Peyton would look good in a Patriot jersey

Would Peyton agree to that? I think he would rather go to a contender instead of babysit the guy who was going to take his job.

Peyton as a Pat would make me stop hating them.

Would be even better if Brady was cut and had to play for some second rate organization like the Raiders or Niners.

He'd probably get traded to the Browns or something

Indy will win enough games to get like the 3rd or 4th pick and miss out on Luck.

Instead taking the best Left Tackle (I've seen Matt Kalil's name mentioned in places) in the draft, ripe and ready for Manning's return next year.

Heck even if the Colts are #1 they might trade with someone giving up all (or at least, a lot of) their picks to get their hands on the QB.

I would honestly not be shocked at all if the Colts ended up with the #1 pick and Polian passed on Luck. Why?

1. It's Bill Polian. He's terrible at drafting.

2. He still believes Peyton Manning will play for 4 more years.

In fact, I'll go ahead and make that prediction right now.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The fractured rib hurt so much that Tony Romo needed a pair of pain-killing injections to play Monday night.

Yet Miles Austin's strained hamstring was much more painful for the Dallas Cowboys' franchise quarterback.

Thanks to a ferocious defense, Dan Bailey's foot and some grit and good fortune, the Cowboys managed to pull even at the top of the NFC East standings with an 18-16 win over the Washington Redskins. But, man, did Romo miss his favorite wide receiver.

There won't be many more frustrating wins in Romo's career. For a quarterback who has been criticized for not being a take-charge guy, he sure spent a lot of the night at Cowboys Stadium ranting at teammates.

"Tony had some words for me, not all of them warming, but it's all good," said receiver Kevin Ogletree, the subject of several rants. "It's tough love."

Added Romo, who completed 22 of 36 passes for 255 yards but had his 20-game touchdown streak snapped:

"There were a lot of mistakes that didn't sit well with me. We'll correct that tomorrow. That's part of the game, especially when you have young guys."

It was such an exasperating experience for Romo that fellow captain Jason Witten, the NFL's most reliable tight end, assisted with the ranting at the team's receivers. Witten coyly described it as "encouragement" when television cameras surrounded his locker, but he admitted that quite a few expletives flew.

Romo has two targets that he totally trusts: Austin and Witten. With Austin expected to be sidelined through the Week 5 bye, the Cowboys have a lot of work to do this week.

"There's no question we had some confusion and certainly we saw the inexperience of that group of receivers that we had in there," owner/general manager Jerry Jones said. "I thought that was going to be our undoing."

Can we please put an end to the discussion about whether Dez Bryant has already surpassed Austin in the team's receiver pecking order? Let's at least wait until Bryant has 1,000 career receiving yards before putting him above Austin, who has back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and will get there again this year if his health allows it.

Bryant's a tremendous talent, but he's got a long way to go to become dependable. He's capable of making spectacular plays, such as the 30-yard gain on a third-and-long playground route to keep Dallas' game-winning drive alive, but a four-catch, 63-yard performance provided further evidence that Bryant is still in the beginning stages of his development.

The Cowboys' most reliable receiver against the Redskins was Laurent Robinson (three catches, 49 yards), a fifth-year veteran signed the week of the season opener, released the next week and re-signed the following week.

But Bryant, who played with a bruised quadriceps, wasn't the problem. The Cowboys' lack of depth at receiver was exposed.

Ogletree, who replaced Austin in the starting lineup, was simply awful for most of the game. His fumble was a physical mistake, which the Cowboys can stomach.

They can't deal with the long list of mental mistakes from a third-year receiver who looked at times like he had never cracked Jason Garrett's playbook.

Ogletree admits he should have had a touchdown when Romo had a pretty throw on a deep fade route, but the receiver played passively instead of attacking the ball and allowed the defensive back to break up the pass. His alignment error forced the Cowboys to burn a timeout, drawing Witten's wrath. He ran a bad route on Romo's only interception. And he ran a worse route on third-and-goal with the Cowboys trailing by four points early in the fourth quarter.

Romo was still seated on the turf when he started screaming at Ogletree after that incomplete pass near the front right corner of the end zone, angrily raising his arms in the air, the universal "what the hell" gesture.

"I just kind of stopped in the middle of a route, which is the worst thing you can do," Ogletree said. "He just told me, 'What were you thinking?' I kind of mumbled something to him and he was like, 'You're stupid.' "

Ouch.

At least Ogletree partially redeemed himself with a sweet, one-handed snag on a ball thrown behind him for a 20-yard gain on a slant route to get the game-winning drive going. Romo provided some positive reinforcement for that catch, combined with a swift kick in the butt.

"He says he expects me to make those ones," Ogletree said, "and he kind of expects me to run the wrong routes sometimes, too."

Don't expect Austin to come riding to the rescue next week.

It's on Ogletree and the other young receivers to get it right. If that doesn't happen, Romo's sore rib won't rank as his biggest problem.

I meant it in a "resident leader of Texans fans on a message board" could give a better analysis than Mr. Coach expert.
lol

Lance loves his dad, I'll say that. But there's probably a good reason Daddy Z isn't there anymore. And only half of it has to do with the actual players on the line.

Both are very knowledgeable when it comes to football, but I tend to avoid anyone who had previous ties to the team when looking for info.

I don't want to hear Bill Cowher talk about the Steelers either, or Troy Aikman about the Cowboys, or Tedy Bruschi about... well, anyone really. But that's a different story.

It's good to get multiple sides of an argument, but you can never take everything anyone says as gospel. Lance is usually one of the first guys I turn to for football info, but there are plenty of times where I disagree with what he has to say. Always have to interpret the info you get however you see best.

In conclusion, yeah, that was a bad interview.

Vick says he's playing and would play even if his hand was broken.

Percent chance he dies on the field within the next 3-4 games?

Our D-line is going to fuck him up pretty bad. I can't see him leaving this game healthy, unless his O-line steps the fuck up.

Has to fight for time on ESPN. Has to prove he is tougher then Romo. There can be only one American hero, John Wayne, cancer curing , person playing QB. Who will it be......

http://www.chron.com/sports/texans/...tart-against-Steelers-Kubiak-says-2193337.php

Running back Arian Foster is expected to start and be at full speed against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Foster practiced today after missing Sunday's 40-33 loss at New Orleans.

"He's fine," coach Gary Kubiak said. "He should be OK heading into the rest of the season now, hopefully. We'll keep our fingers crossed. He's chomping at the bit and ready to go, took his full load and we're okay."

Foster will start, and Ben Tate will come off the bench. Derrick Ward missed another day of practice because of a sprained ankle.

Thank You Tom Brady!! May not fix the redzone issues immediately it will help tons.

Came home and saw Bob Sanders got put on IR... FML. He looked so damn good when he was playing.. cant believe his body sucks that much.

yeah we're definitely sweeping the leg on that dog killing dirtbag. whether we win or lose i can't say but vick is leaving that game in worse shape than he is in now

I don't understand the logic to keep playing him while hes already clearly injured. I mean, I don't think he'd really shaken off the concussion from the Falcons game by the time the giants game rolled around, and now he's even worse off. Clearly the Eagles are trying to end Michael Vick's season as soon as possible, best $100 million spent ever.

You mean like Romo Style!

Where they play with back up and then come back and beat you.

Michael Vick is going to be the first corpse to ever manufacture a game winning drive.

I'm glad Brian Orakpo said what I was thinking about Romo's injury. I'm sure he has busted ribs, but it is damn near impossible to play with a punctured lung. Yo get hit in the lower stomach/chest area and you will have trouble breathing and could possibly die.

He should have said it last week when people would have actually listened to him... but it would have been drowned out by the talking heads on ESPN anyway

I didn't think I'd ever say this, but this actually sounds like a bad trade right now...

If the Pats traded for Manning where would he play? He could be a special teamer and holder on FG/XP attempts. Maybe he could fit in on kickoff coverage.

I had a dream that I was sitting on my couch, watching tv and that Deion Sanders fairy from the DirecTv commercials appeared, only when he said "OH IT'S ON!" and shot fairy dust at my tv it started playing gay porn.

That wasn't a dream. That is just an ordinary Sunday at PhoenixDark or FMT's house.

Is there any bigger organizational gaffe this decade than signing a QB to a huge contract without having him in for his physical?

Did it feature Shane Betenhausen's arms?

Sad news about the Brady haircut. I'm not gay but he looked really good with that longer hair. Everyone has short hair... like 99% of guys have the same damn haircut. Brady broke that mold and ran with it and looked like a fucking movie star and then got hate for it because it was different and people are so reluctant to accept anything against the grain.
