NFL Week 15 2010|OT| - Let's All Just Move West!

I was really looking forward to tonight's game since it is going to be outdoors in Minnesota at -5. But the closer we get to the game that more obvious it is that this one is going to be a boring slow paced game involving the Vikings trying their best to limit the mistakes Webb can make while the Bears slowly build a 17 point lead they can sit on until the end of the game.

Geeze. I decided to look at stats today. That 80 yard run yesterday by Jamaal Charles really helped his week.

Upped his yards per carry to a freaking 6.4 average.

He's only 42 yards behind first place and Arian Foster with 74 fewer attempts. That is insanity.

It would have been worse if the team had been eliminated from playoff contention entirely like that. As it stands, it's still one of the most emotionally draining games I've ever watched and I'm happy to put it out of my mind well....forever.

Move on to this weekend and work to get the win against the Packers. Hopefully, the team is angry and ready to go.

Honestly I'm not even that bothered by the loss. Everything else fell our way and we control our destiny no matter what. The only thing that sucks is that this is a game that will go down in history and will be talked about for decades to come, like the Trey Junkin game or The Fumble.

There are a lot of positives to take out of this game - the Giants flat out dominated until the midway point of the fourth. Like I said above it literally took everything going wrong for this to even be a close game. The Giants continue to surprise me with new and impressive ways to turn the ball over, last two times it was Eli fumbling untouched, yesterday it was Manningham letting the ball out back in the field of play, untouched! Personally I can't wait to see what will happen next. Will Bradshaw lateral to Trent Cole? Will O'Hara snap the ball directly to Patterson? I am excited.

Only way to exorcise these demons is to meet the Eagles in the playoffs, and frankly I like our chances.

They'd get the Giants/Packers or Saints, right? And they would get them at home.

The Giants are probably the toughest match-up but there is a strong possibility Coughlin will go on a murder-suicide spree (well, the murder part will be a spree) and they won't have a special teams anymore. Plus, when Eli is slangin' you always have a chance.
Who is it a tough matchup for, the Packers? I agree. Any team that is pass first will have trouble against the Giants based on where their talent lies, it's all up front and in the secondary.

I will still watch. I am expecting the Vikes run the ball constaly, want to see AP pull off some crazy runs through the snow. :D

I think they just need one more win to get the bye. Same with the Steelers if they beat the Browns.

Atlanta and New England seem like locks to get the 1 seed.

Things are starting to take shape.

I think the Bears own the series against the Eagles this year and will have the same record if they win tonight...

SMH

Vikings, Jets and Packers on the schedule though? I like the Eagles chances to come out with a single victory over them with that schedule.

Lets be real here: It would be a complete travesty not to see a potential Eagles/Falcons NFC East Championship game....

It's basically an answer to the existence of not only god, but justice as well. Do they exist? Just watch the game...

I know some would prefer not to see them again but I agree. The only thing will wipe away some of that memory is to knock them out of the playoffs.

I don't know, even if this team wins the superbowl(if they figure out how to play a whole game), this game will go down in eagles-giants lore.

2010 NFC West "Champion" is the answer to both of those questions!

Tell that to the laptop!

I'm sure some team has won their division with a 8-8 record before right? The 2010 NFC champion might just tie the record:lol

Edit: I did some googling and the worst division winning record ever is 8-8 from what I can find. Most of what I could find was people trying to figure out what is the worst record possible to win a division. I think it's a 4-way tie of 0-13-3 with who knows what for a tiebreaker.

...and? There will always be games of infamy when dealing with teams that have a rivalry as old as Giants/Eagles. On both sides and they will always be remembered.

This season though? If this team wins the Super Bowl, there isn't a Giants fan alive that will care.:lol

I thought that was a joke from a forum or something. I can't believe they actually put that on a cover of a newspaper :lol

NFC West Champions is right. Whoever wins is a champion full stop

Yeah this game will be talked about for years to come, there is no getting around it. Like I said tho, I am not too bothered by it. I like our chances in another matchup.

Speaking of history, looks like Giant fans are already trying to re-write it!

Well yeah, lets just beat the packers next week to get into the playoffs first. This team does not deserve superbowl dreaming yet.

Wait you put the 2000 superbowl that low, that is my number one. My god that was just embarrassing

Actually if I were to rank losses from the Giants in how much they have bothered me, this wouldn't even be in the top 3, maybe not top 5 either.

1) 2002 WC playoff game @SF, the Trey Junkin game. I have never in my life raged as hard as I did after that one. We would have stomped the Bucs easily.

2) 1997 WC playoff game v. the Vikings. I was a fledgling fan back then but I will never forgive Chris Calloway for not falling on the ball on the on-side kick attempt.

3) 2000 season SB against the Ravens.

4) 2003 week 2. The Monday night meltdown against the Cowboys due to a kickoff going out of bounds. Nothing will ever top this game as the worst regular season game ever. Absolutely nothing.

Hmmmm, ok maybe I put yesterday's game at #5.

So if the Colts win the division, and get a bye, that would give them 2 weeks to get healthy before facing the Pats or whomever? They can beat the Pats if needed, if last night was any indication. The Pats did have some starting defense guys out.
The Jets and Chargers as a wild card game would be a good match. Who would travel?

Its the post. I wouldn't wipe my ass with it.

Wellington, I was talking to the rams fan. No matter who the packers play the game will be close...except the Niners apparently.

I went shopping with the missus during the Giants/Eagles game. I checked the scores on my phone and the Giants were comfortably ahead so I just shrugged.

We got home, and I turned on the Steelers game and saw the ticker - 38 -31 Eagles, instantly laughed and said "Wellington's gonna be pissed".

Man did I ever sound like a geek explaining to her what I was talking about.

I do that stuff all the time with my girl, family, and friends. My dad laughs and tells me I should hear myself sometimes. :lol

Not even sure if it's possible for the Colts to get a bye. Steelers have to lose both games and the Colts have to win both remaining games. Not going to happen.
Any team can be beat. Did the Pats D ever scare you? They are no worse or better than most teams in the League. How did the D look yesterday for the Giants, Eagles, Ravens Steelers etc...? Or how about your Colts D?

My ticket to the Fantasy Championship game lies in the hands of Adrian Peterson. My opponent has him, and I'm up by 19 points. Anyone here a contract killer?

The good news: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2010111404/2010/REG10/vikings@bears

The bad news:
Joe%20Webb%20leaves%20mark.jpg

My take: you'll win by 2-5 points but you will be sweating the whole time

I dominated my league and am in the championship guaranteed a nice pay day. I remember Frankman and Tamanon in particular laughing at my draft. lolzorz.

I cant believe I made the championship game in the trendy hipster league. My team was 12 out of 12 like 8 weeks ago. I was able to pick up some FA's that really helped me. Hopefully my team finds away to knock off B-rad's team next week.

Two wins in a row, with a third string quarterback, beating two teams with winning records, breaking two different losing streaks?!

The hell?

Our surprisingly mobile third stringer made plays and didn't screw up.

I don't get where the increased Cowher in Houston talk is coming from. Sure, I'd love to have him with the Texans, but only a few weeks ago it seemed like mostly fans around the watercooler wishful thinking. Now all the sudden there are rumored lists. I don't know what to think.

Not like McNair's gonna fire his buddy anyway. :(

Its weird. He listed Giants as his #1 job. Now I am hearing tons of talk about if the Giants lose out or don't make the playoffs Coughlin might be fired or retire. PLEASE GOD NO.

Cowher go to Houston.

I don't know how but I've made it to the finals of my fantasy league on the strong backs of:

Lagarette Blount
Mike Tolbert
Jonathan Stewart

I have hit some very extremely lucky streaks with these guys, I'm hoping it continues for one more week. I want to troll all my friends who laughed at my horrible horrible RBs.

Yea man, it worked out really well. The Bucs gave Drew Stanton alot of soft coverage and that gave him time to make some reads and the easy throws. Its like Tampa was really concerned with letting deep balls go. They even let Calvin get in between zones....alot. If Aqib Talib had been playing, things may have been different, but he wasn't.

And Don't forget the way the O-line and Maurice Morris played. Unsung heroes man. They made lanes for Mo and he went full boar at them. Our running game has been like a demon on wheels lately

And Lawerence Jackson ate Freeman alive on that sack. Freeman wiggled his head around on the rollout and was immediately hit. It was great.

After that beyond pathetic showing yesterday Kubiak needs to go. If they completely bomb the next two I think he is gone. After seeing some of Anthony Smiths comments after the game yesterday I am 90% convinced Kubiak is starting to lose the players now.

Blatantly stoled from Texans Talk:

His attitude is what this team needs. So much talent and potential just going to waste.

Well, it's starting to snow and my kid's schools just let out early. On the bright side, it did warm up to 20 degrees.

Sweet! The Bears looked terrible in the snow, maybe your team has a chance to save a modicum of dignity from this season

Pats played like shit and won. I'll take it. They need to step up their game. That is not close to good enough. They need to handle Buffalo and rest up for 3 weeks.

anything less than Kubiak being gone next year is the wrong move. I'm not going to waste my time with this team anymore until they get a new coach, one that will make the players play for 60 minutes. One that can see his mistakes and fix them.
How many times has the Texans offense come out flat? And then what happens when they pick up the pace and or go no huddle in the second half? Crazy thought, why not open the game in a no huddle/fast paced offense! Kubiak is supposed to be an offensive genius yet its the same shit every game with the offense. And he obviously cant hire a good defensive coordinator as the defense has sucked ever since he's been here.

I just dont give a shit anymore.

And Antonio smith is an idiot, he always does shit after the play and hurts his team. I'm not surprised Cushing got in his face for fighting with that Titan player and then Smith can't cool the fuck off he knocks Cushing's helmet off and they get a personal foul penalty.

Everytime I read something about this incident I cant help but chuckle. How in the hell do you get a penalty when two guys on the same team are fighting?:lol

Seriously, its mind boggling. Like something out of an Adam Sandler movie.
