John Clayton says that Anthony Gonzalez could be out "a lengthy period of time" with his latest injury.

I'm shocked by this development.
Benard Pollard gets over not having talent by doling out cheap shots.

Our offensive line was new back then and they didn't know they were allowed to actually put their hands on defenders, instead they tried to block them with positive thinking.
:lol :lol Good game, sir. Good game.

Pollard injured Gonzalez?
He's the one who dished out the OOB hit that appeared to cause the injury.

HOLY SHIT @ the vid :lol :lol :lol

Relax, people. I grew up in Dallas, and this is normal. Matter of fact, in Pop Warner ball, we had this one play called the Dry Hump. On Hut 2, the right offensive tackle would start faux-fuckin' the left defensive end while the pulling guard performed frottage on the nosetackle. Meantime, the left offensive tackle would engage in spirited outercourse with the right defensive end. While all this was happening, I'd sprint around the right side, untouched, for the score.

After that? Yes, we'd line up for the two-point conversion. By then, of course, the defense was totally aroused and I'd just walk the thing in.

Injury update from Giants practice:

FB Madison Hedgecock's injured hamstring had a setback in practice yesterday. More details coming up later on the blog.

Hedgecock heard a pop when he hurt himself yesterday. Hasn't had MRI. Says only that it hurts less than 1st strain. #nyg

Even GOD wants Bear Pascoe at fullback. Never like to see a player injured but not disliking Bear staying right where he is.

Also, DE Dave Tollefson did not practice because of "flu-like" symptoms. Kareem Mckenzie didn't practice yesterday for the same reason. Coughlin hopes it stops with those two.

Pollard injured Gonzalez?

Seems to be the consensus. Think he went out after Pollard leaped onto his back as he headed OOB.

On one hand, Pollard is a douche. On the other, maybe Gonzo just isn't built to play in the NFL. Compare this to Clint Session: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...-in-colts-win-over-texans?module=HP_headlines

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Clint Session played through a dislocated elbow and fractured forearm Monday night, according to a league source.

Session reportedly suffered the injuries during the first half of Monday night's 30-17 win over the Texans but refused to come out and helped lead the Colts to a key divisional win.

Session is still dealing with the injuries and could miss considerable practice time, but he is not ruling himself out for this week's game against the Eagles. He was listed on this week's injury report with an injured elbow and sat out Wednesday's practice. Given the extremes he performed through Monday night, a final decision on his status might not come until game time.

Session, 26, has been a regular starter for the Colts this season and registered a huge sack in Monday's win. He had eight tackles and a pass defensed.

Session is in the final year of his contract. The Colts secured linebacker Gary Brackett to a long-term deal before the season and are generally proactive about securing young talent.

Fuckin A. I am going to write a strongly worded letter to my congressman and the President about these out of control fines on Harrison. I know the President told me not to bother him for awhile after the Miami game, but someone needs to step in and stop Goodell before something truly horrible happens (like Harrison losing his smile for good).

The only person who really helped the Colts to a key divisional win was the Texans' offensive coordinator for not fucking running the ball with Arian Foster who fucking RAN FOR 230+ YARDS ON THE COLTS SHITTY DEFENSE IN WEEK 1.

Fucking Texans. Cost me $50. :(

Ya know, it's not like the Colts weren't averaging nearly 8 YPC, too. When Peyton is throwing it all of your face and the dynamic combo of Hart and Brown are racking up Barry Sanders numbers...well, you're just fucked.

Steve Young summarized the Colts in one sentence prior to the game: They're built to get a quick 10-14 point lead, force you to throw the ball more than you want to, and let their DEs pressure the QB into throwing foolishly into the Tampa 2.

The Texans started with the ball and they threw 3 straight times on the opening possession. I'm not sure there's a facepalm.gif big enough for that one.

The Colts are also built for their homefield. They are a totally different team on the road or outside (still really good, but their defense especially is not as good away from home).

Everything you said is 100% correct and it is even more indefensible when you remember that the Texans should know all of this much better than any of us seeing as how they are IN THE SAME DIVISION!

This is all true, but let's not forget how many come-from-behind and close victories we've successfully pulled off. Colts not leading does NOT equal doom and gloom. When we play with a lead, we just have more options...like most teams.

Kukiak outsmarted himself. He did a great job first time around, because the first game we were playing the pass most of the time. I think maybe he thought we'd be focused on defending the run, he'd come out shooting. Didn't work out too well, and I'm glad. If we had to pack the box, I don't think our already thin secondary could have handled it.

I guess that concussion was more than "slight", as Matt Hasselbeck has already been ruled out for Sunday's game. I guess they knew the Giants would knock him out of the game anyway, so why not just get it over with now.

Seattle will start Charlie Whitehurst as QB now.

Rookie Zac Robinson was elevated from the practice squad to back up Whitehurst, too.

Okung hasn't been ruled out but isn't looking likely to play with a high ankle sprain. So no competent left tackle to boot...

They better grab a third QB.

I just remembered I picked up NYG D this week too! :D

I wouldn't even say there's too much of a difference. We kill it on the road regularly. This year has been a fluke.

The Colts have just had great talent (kudos Colts GM) and the greatest regular season qb of all time for most of the last decade, so they can win on the road or at home. With that said, they are just a different beast at home. I think the Colts are even with the Giants on the road, but we all remember what happened when the Giants had to play them at home.

I think that has to do more with who they played (though their shitty fans didn't help matters) instead of where.

Saying a team is built for road games is kind of silly considering they're all different.
I'm not serious just delirious.

At a time when venerable Minneapolis scribe Sid Hartman is propping up coach Brad Childress and brushing off talk that the coach is in trouble as the product of "some websites, which have been very unreliable of late," the reports and rumors that Fred Smoot's favorite former coach could be fired are coming from too many places to be ignored.

Most recently, Adam Schefter of ESPN (not a website, last time we checked) addressed Childress' status during Thursday's edition of NFL Live. Schefter called the coach's situation "very fragile," pointing to "growing dissatisfaction" in the Twin Cities and a "whole slew of factors" that endanger Childress' employment.

Other reporters, some of whom have abandoned the slowly-dying newspaper industry for the Internet and thus work for "websites," have indicated that Childress could be fired during the season, including Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports and Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com.

In the event that Hartman was referring to PFT, we've reported nothing as to Childress' status. We've shared the information harvested by others, and we've expressed an opinion that someone (presumably Childress) must be held accountable for the mess in Minnesota, a mess which has been made even worse by Childress' mishandling of the organizational aspects of making the decision, communicating it internally, and sharing it externally.

Bottom line? Regardless of Hartman's perspective, information, or motivation, the signs are pointing to Childress as the captain of a sinking ship.

Captain's don't leave their ship regardless of whether or not it's sinking though. This is more of a mutiny + "walk the plank!" than a sinking ship.

I don't think anyone has posted Troy's comments yet have they?

[Goodell has] all the power, and that may be part of the problem. There needs to be some type of separation of power, like our government. I don't think it should be based totally on what two or three people may say that are totally away from the game. It should be some of the players that are currently playing. [...]
There is definitely a paranoia that is unneeded. Just because we had a few weekends ago, I think somebody said, five [illegal] hits out of 1,000. Yeah, I think there is too much paranoia. [...]
If people want to watch soccer, they can watch soccer. The people who are attracted to this game, they're going to see the big hits, they don't care about touchdowns. So you're also taking apart what attracts people to this game. [...]
I don't think there's any confusion [about the new rule]. I just think the problem is they're wrong.

Thanks to Moss, there is a free lunch in Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS -- A suburban Minneapolis restaurant is turning the tables on Randy Moss.

Gus Tinucci was catering lunch at the Minnesota Vikings' practice facility last Friday when Moss entered the locker room. He said Moss demanded to know who ordered the food and said he wouldn't feed it to his dog.

Tinucci said he got an apology from the Wilf family, which owns the Vikings. And on Friday, Tinucci's restaurant will offer free lunches to the first 50 people who come to turn in their Moss jerseys. For everyone else, the lunch buffet will be marked down to $8.40, a takeoff on the receiver's No. 84 jersey.

The Moss jerseys and cash will be donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The Vikings waived Moss on Tuesday, and he was claimed a day later by the Tennessee Titan, his third team this season.

:lol

Oh hey if the Seahawks lose this week, the Rams take first in the NFC West. What a long troubled road it's been for NomarTyme.

Hey, it seems I was wrong! I would wish Randy Moss on my worst enemy!
I'm glad the Dolphins passed on him, Marshall is plenty enough for Miami at WR.

Yeah, he frees up a defender or two while Henne hands off to Brown/Williams three straight times before punting. Good pick up for you guys.
