Just so we're all clear, any show that started during 1998 and after on Nickelodeon is garbage.

Spongebob, The Amanda Show, Catdog, Rocket Power, Wild Thornberrys, and Oh Yeah! Cartoons are terrible and should not be included on this network.

Double Dare, Aaah! Real Monsters, Doug, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Roundhouse, Welcome Freshman, Make The Grade, Guts, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Rocko's Modern Life, Get The Picture, Nick Arcade, All That, Kenan and Kel, Hey Arnold!, Pete and Pete, Clarissa Explains it All, Figure it Out, Hey Dude, Finders Keepers, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Wild and Crazy Kids, My Brother and Me, and Salute Your Shorts are all classics that should be included.

I don't know of this is a double entendre but there was a meet and greet after the show.

Saying Spongebob is crap but Hey Dude is a classic?

That 90's block, the talk of reviving their old shows, the rumored Nicktoons movie and now this? Why is Nick banking on nostalgia lately? Better yet, why isn't Nick doing what Cartoon Network has been doing for the past couple of years and investing more in creator driven works?
Or paying Bryke tons of money to make another Avatar series.

You're off your rocket if you claim Spongebob to be shit (especially the episodes that did make it into the 90's, glorious season one) yet proclaim Hey Dude a classic.

Or Doug, man. I liked Doug but if I watched it without the nostalgia googles I'd have a sometimes amusing show that I maaaaybe would watch if it was on and there was nothing else, but definitely wouldn't go out of my way to keep watching.

If you eliminate everything post 1998 you also have to wave bye to stuff like the last two seasons of Hey Arnold (which contained some of the best episodes in the series).

OMG, yes.

Whenever my life gets me so down,
I know I can go down.
To where the music and the fun never ends.
As long as that music keeps playing
You know what I'm saying.
I know that I can find a friend....
Down at the RoundHouse.
Reprise the theme song and roll the credits!

jessica gaynes eh?

I think Jessica Gaynes may have started my infatuation with redheads. I would be so disappointed when she wasn't the host. Though I also had a thing for Josie on Beakman's World. Those pre-teen years were weird for me. (She was in the movie Waiting... years later, but then showed up on Hung and oh my god. Like seriously oh my god.)

no love for space cases round these parts?? ....and you call yourselves 80s/90s kids!

My man. Spaaaace Caaasesss!!! I was so disappointed when season 2 replaced Catalina. And so happy a decade later when she showed up on Firefly. And Alex Mac was on 3rd Rock From the Sun for a while.

This seems like such a great idea for a digital channel like the WWE network where you have a live channel and all content on demand, especially when you consider their target audience is likely the same crowd that are cord cutters and will in no way buy the super expanded cable package this will be on.

Hulu has a lot of 90's Nick already so Hopefully they don't pull anything to make the channel more appealing.

Wow i just saw this. Guess Reboot might get perma closed ( for the second time). Well depending on this channel.

I didn't Nickelodeon as a kid, so I might be interested.

That being said, I hope they don't fuck around with the aspect ratios any. They should present things in original aspect with awesome 90s style compensation borders.

Seems like it's going to be Nicktoons only, so eh. The live action and game shows were great.

Just bring back the Nick GAS or The N channel.

And release Pete and Pete Season 3 already.

D: What about Drake and Josh? Cousin Skeeter? Invader Zim? Chalkzone? Fairly Odd Parents? Avatar The Last Airbender?

early season Spongebob was great! I liked the Wild Thornberries. As Told By Ginger was actually pretty great (felt like a cartoon Clarissa to me).

Hope it's similar to Simpsons World/WWE Network and not sent to die like Nicktoons while they'll likely change the format 2 years later like Boomerang/Disney XD.

Just gimmie All That/Alex Mack/Rugrats/Angry Beavers/Real Monsters with it.

i kind of agree. spongebob isn't terrible but spongebob has its own place on cable tv right now anyway.

plenty of those older shows are terrible too, but they were MY terrible shows damnit!

i dont want to hear about hey arnold, cat dog whatever that is .. newfangled nickelodeon bs

- Alex Mac
- Salute Your Shorts
- Legends of the Hidden Temple
- All That
- Kablam!
- Square 1: was this even on Nick? It was one of the first tv shows I ever saw when I was 4-5 years old, so my memory is fuzzy there. :|

Basically these along with the classic toons = my childhood! :'D

Hey Dude! is one of the worst TV shows of all time.

Yup, I used to roll my eyes and turn the channel once that came on.

i didnt realize so many people skipped hey dude. the way they aired it i assumed it was popular.

i could watch a you cant say that on television marathon no problem, but when that shit came on, i was out

Maya the Bee?
Eureeka's Castle?
The World of David the Gnome?
The Adventures of the Little Koala?
The Littl' Bits?
Danger Mouse?
Count Duckula?

Of course not.

I mostly agree with the exception of Spongbob. Those earlier episode ARE pretty classic, ESPECIALLY comparing them to the latest episodes.I do agree that Spongbob shouldn't be included on Splat, but for a different reason(not becuase it's undeservingly bad). Spongebob is already HEAVILY featured on both Nickelodeon and NickToons(hell, I was just changing the channels last night and they had a BIG ass block of Spongebob on NickToons). I don't see any reason to dedicate a third channel to saturating the Nick brand even further with adventures in Bikini Bottom. IMO, that would be too much.

Hey Dude is garbage but I want it. No late 90s Nick!
I didn't watch anything live action before All That (and then only Kenan & Kel and Amanda Show). Not including late 90s Nick is blasphemy. Any shown that started in the 90s is fair game.

Rocket Power and Wild Thornberrys is great. Fuck Catdog though.

could be interesting but no release plans or dates make this seem like a "ok whatever let's announce it early and see if the hype keeps going" plan. Will it be subscription only? Somehow found a cable channel to put it on?

Also, boomerang was a 4:3 dead, sinking channel before the revision due to what it was: dragging out the tapes and showing old material

I feel the need to right a wrong here. There's a severe lack of Clarissa Explains it All in this thread. I'm currently going through the series, it's still great.

What about true classic nick like you can't do that on television, today's special, danger mouse, picture pages. out of control, double dare?

And nick jr shows like David the gnome, adventure of the little koala.

I remember they did this same thing maybe 13 years ago or so. They had 2-3 channels. One was Nickelodeon GaS( games and sports) which basically showed all the 90's game shows and they had an all cartoon one also. I really miss GaS

lol at "true classic nick", when only two of those shows mentioned were Nickelodeon originals, everything else mentioned was an acquisition from elsewhere.

Like it or not 80s kids, the 90's was the zenith of the channel as far as original content goes. Nick was simply on fire for nearly the whole decade, and it reflects on just how popular it was and continues to be.

I see this thread and my brain says

UM BA HID UP HIDDLE UP NICK
UM BA HID UP HIDDLE UP NICK NICK
UM BA RIKKI TIKKI UM BUK NIKKI
NUMBA WUN NICKA LO DEE UNNNN

I think most of the live action original content Nickelodeon made was stupid except for Clarissa explains it all. I hate how honmoginized the network became in the 90s. Granted pinwheel and today's special are both pretty terrible, but 80s nick had awesome content that made it worth paying for a cable subscription.

I'd love to see some Wild and Crazy Kids.

Loved that show and haven't been able to find anything about unlike other old Nick shows.

Salute Your Shorts in respectable quality would be nice too, assuming it exists. Half this stuff I just wrote off as being burned in a bonfire somewhere in the late 90s.
