NieR: Automata |OT| "I wouldn't expect too much from this game if I were you."

May be a weird question but there's a trigger for the vocals in the first area, the
City Ruins
?

For example, with the Resistance Camp is
talking with Anemone
or the
Amusement Park is being close to the parade.

But don't see a trigger for that area, unless it's only mission related.

Hi everybody,

This has probably been asked 100 times in this thread but I've been hearing about these multiple endings and multiple playthroughs.

Is this like 999 where you pretty much replayed the game multiple times and just picked different options at various junction points whilst listening to the same conversations over and over with a few responses changed here and there?

Since you asked, I'll detail it here without any plot details
A and B are different perspectives of the same first act with different gameplay elements and shows you what happens when the characters are ever apart. C is an entire 2nd act story wise taking place after A/B, D is a branching choice at the end of C and E is the true ending choice when all main endings are completed

So I'm on
Route C
and loving the story and really want to see how it wraps up.

Is it possible once Chapter Select is unlocked, to go back and complete the other sidequests? Is any of the progress saved on those if I already started them?

Not really, they mostly follow a sequence, each time you finish the game you start again on a new path/POV. There is one very minor exception to that.

Nope, the ones you didn't do reset.

Sounds good. Cheers :)

Ok so those chicks in the background in the backside of the Resistance Camp are
Devola and Popola
right? It has to be them. Why is the game being such a tease by not letting me talk to them?

We're back at 89 people

Edit: Ah, just saw the Review thread reopened. Gonna go there then.

A2 has a freaking taunt button and has the best looking dodge/run in the game. I think she may be my favorite

I think it would be cool to have an item that you can buy endgame that makes 2Bs dodge into that of A2. I like to play 2B, but that dodge is godlike.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Route C...

Why did A2 cut her hair? That was the best part of her design.

She looks to be another Kaine/Zero with all the juvenile swearing and too cool for school attitude, which is disappointing as I find that sort of personality very trope-y and unenjoyable. Love taunting though.

Because it knows that you the player are aware of their significance, and is deliberately keeping those answers from you.

So, is it possible to complete the Reconnaissance Squad sidequest before you get all the endings? I'm in route C right now, and I pretty much cleared all the sidequest except that one. My unit data is at 81% and I explored everything multiple times. Not sure how I can get more unit data before going in
The Tower
.

My explanation is because in the moment she took the sword the merging process with 2B began.

yes, but you'll have some trouble with the enchanced machines, cause they're rare spawn

here's the list, i suggest you to check the normal enemies first, then the special units/peculiar machines you won't have problem finding them
to complete the quest you need to reach 95%

I took it as a sign of her making herself look more like 2B as she kind of picks her mantle there and as a sign of mourning the death of a YoRHa sister. Haircuts like that tend to be have great significance in the Japanese culture (or so I've been lead to believe.)

Taro you bastard. I bet
Emil
is gonna be just as much of a tease.

On another note, some of these little sidequest markers are difficult to find. Some of them seem underground or something and I have no idea how to get to them. I can't for the life of me find these YoRHa betrayers for example.

When and how often is the game different? Doing the same stuff with added hacking minigames is boring me to death.

Think to yourself: When was 9S absent during Route A?

Additionally, you get further insight regarding several of the bosses.

It might be possible, but it'd be a push to get to 95% at the point you describe.

You will have ample opportunity later though, so its not a problem.

For me, the 'first place' I found the betrayers was next to the prologue factory area.

Check under the collapsed bridge that leads to the factory area

Well, I didn't expect much of this game, thought it was gonna be Platinum action with some weird story. After the first ending I went "Oh..." and after the 2nd one I went "Oh!"
I like it quite a bit.

Is the PC version good or should i better get the PS4 version? I think i read the PC version has some problems?

Lots of new sidequests, and if you care about the story the game has a LOT of new content added in the form of different cutscenes and perspective shifts. If you don't like the hacking though the majority of the new gameplay stuff might not work for you, though some of it is really cool. Fortunately you can blow through most of it pretty fast if you want.

Route C is when things really start picking up, but you need B to have the proper context and foreshadowing for C to have the proper effect.

I just bought it a few months ago.

i7
16 GB DDR 4 RAMS
GTX 1070

Definitely PC then. You'll need to download Borderless Gaming as the game currently has a bug where it doesn't display in native resolution if you play fullscreen, but with those specs you'll definitely have a better experience on PC than PS4.

I kinda hated the robot designs at first, with their basic round heads and two dots as eyes they seemed like a simplistic attempt to make them "kawaii", and their monotone vocoder voice really annoyed me.

I don´t really know why, but after that desert escort mission and
the girl robot with a FUCKING PINK RIBBON started asking questions like "where do babies come from" and then later saying "thank you grumpy lady for helping me!"
I started loving those little guys.

I was prepared to really enjoy this game right from the start but kinda bounced off. After 7 hours I´m starting to really dig it. Everything felt so cold and sterile at first, but there´s actually a lot of warmth in the design that takes time to develop. Well, at least for me.
