Im not hyped, something wrong with me?!

Nah, you're good
It'll end up like this anyway

one hour is sufficient, chaps. Even with five minutes for each game, that's about 12 games...more than enough bombs to be dropped and more than your body can handle

I honestly can't see Nintendo's direct being anywhere near as good as Sony's conference. I'm not even a big PlayStation fan, but they know what's up! Nintendo needs to bring out all the big guns, not just Mario games. Retro Studios, please be at the direct!

And Nintendo, the company with no real sharing/DVR/movies featureset will not do the same?

And Sony WASTED their first hour

I don't think they wasted anything. They had the time, they might as cover their other products.

Nobody cared to bitch about Flixster coverage when the conference was over.

im out guys. coming back in 2.30 hours, no goddamn old lady will want to cross the goddamn road while im driving my bollicksed old arse car to victory

What they NEED to be doing is a strange question. I loathe looking at this conference through the prism of what Nintendo needs for business. I just want to be excited about games. But if we're going to look at it this way, nothing Retro is doing (for that matter, Retro, X and Bayonetta 2 combined) will even begin to have the impact on the Wii U that Mario Kart will. The Legend of Zelda is out-matched in sales power, multiple times over, by Mario Kart.

If we're looking at it as Nintendo fans who just want an assortment of awesome games, I see no reason for this direct to disappoint. Even the list we know of rivals their 2006 conference.

Sheroking, that's why you're my main man. You always know what to say to me when I'm losing my faith. ;)

My totally reasonable predictions:

  • Every first run copy of Bayonetta 2 comes with Bayonetta: Climax Edition, an enhanced port of the original game. This will also be available separately on the eShop.
  • EAD Tokyo are working on TWO games for Wii U: the new 3D Mario by the 3D Land director and a new take on Donkey Kong as a 3D platformer by Yoshiaki Koizumi
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 2, a new chapter in the series linking 3D and KH3 starring Aqua, exclusive to WiiU
  • An all-new IP developed by Nintendo Software Technology, directed by Hirokazu Yasuhara
  • Metal Gear Ghost Babel remake featuring David Hayter as the voice of Solid Snake
  • Final Fantasy VIIr
  • Elite Beat Agents vs Ouendan
  • Silent Hill Shattered Memories 2
  • Bionic Commando re-reboot

Any less than this and I expect Iwata to end the Direct by committing sudoku.

An hour long E3 conference with Reggie speaking three words every minute and pausing for fake applause would have been tedious. An hour long Direct where Iwata is kicking ass and taking names will be great.
