My prediction? Totally gonna see a big budget reboot of Clash at Demonhead. I'm sure Nintendo bought the ip rights in secret just waiting for their chance!

Great question, I've been wondering this. With several big titles they would be wise to hit the ground running with the Direct by opening with Mario or Smash Bros. Especially if the finale is the Retro reveal.
I don't mind the pace of usual Directs but on an occasion like this I don't want a plodding build up, with recaps and chat for ten minutes before it really takes off. I want to be awed from minute one. Maybe open with a trailer before we even see Reggie, Iwata or whoever, then cut to them welcoming us by discussing that game. Would be far more dynamic than hellos and 'this is E3' and blah blah blah.
I'm really interested in how and where this has been filmed. I hope it isn't the usual white limbo room, Reggie's office and the treehouse. I want to see whoever is hosting to be moving around a nice set, with some colour and decor and screens.

Open world 3D mario, with Character switching ala SMB 2 USA, and a coop mode (probably online enabled)
Retro doing a new IP action RPG, probably with either a futuristic or fantasy setting.
Somebody is making 3D metriod (Maybe monehatted to another studio)
Mario Kart will have a much richer online experience than anybody expects. Online focused.
There will be some kind of Excite game.
More major monehatted games like Sonic Lost worlds from other 3rd party studios. The rest will mostly be set to release further away and we'll only get teasers for them.
Important new content in Windwaker HD (new dungeons, new gameplay modes)
A new Miyamoto IP will show up
We'll get a teaser for the next major zelda game at the end, and some info, kind of like what MS showed for Halo at their conference.
X will be a big part of the direct.
Bayonetta will be a big part of the direct.
They'll have another reveal later this week, maybe more than one.
Single Player Phantasy Star RPG from Sega moneyhatted, set to release next year, we'll only get a teaser.

I've been looking for live crowd reactions for Microsoft and Sony's conferences and that's mostly what I've found.
Disturbing stuff.
(Btw, if anyone has actually seen live crowd videos on youtube, send them my way. I love that stuff).

I don't know mate. I really don't know. Nintendo has a lot of doubters to prove wrong.
But at Nintendo conferences it was usually the press cheering.
This is a stupid question, especially from someone who has watched most Directs live, but on the Direct page do I click play and wait for it to automatically start? Or do I only click play at a certain moment?
I'm in a fluster of panic as the minutes tick down and have forgotten what I did all the other times, and can only recall something going wrong and missing five minutes last time. Paranoia of technical chaos is setting in. I cannot miss a minute of this.
