Thats it. That all they will show. To expect anything more is just setting yourself up for disappointment. But you shouldn't be disappointed, because thats a good fucking show.

^ Yep. That's about as much as one can realistically expect from Nintendo tomorrow. It's just sad that we're starting off a new generation and there's nothing Nintendo can do about changing its home console's fate for third party support, but it is what it is.

After the boring/lacklustre showing of Microsoft and EA, I expect even less from Nintendo. Still hopeful about 3D Mario.

Lackluster?

Titanfall, Below, MGSV, Garden Warfare, Battlefield 4, Mirror's Edge 2, and Witcher 3 all looked pretty amazing and Microsoft has a lot of interesting stuff coming (Sunshine, Quantum Break, Spark, Dead Rising 3, etc.) it is just the price and DRM polices that are so bad. Games-wise though the Microsoft conference was good and EA was better then expected I thought.

Final thought for #EA: Like Microsoft, it wasn't bad. Just very business as usual. Nothing about the new gen feels fresh. #E3

Almost every game you mentioned is either coming to other more powerful or cheaper platforms on the same day or was a vague teaser trailer with a 2014 date.

I'm still keeping my expectations as low as possible for anything not explicitly confirmed for an E3 showing, given what happened last year. I'm not even entirely convinced that X or Bayonetta 2 will appear, let alone Retro's new game.

But at the very least, we'll get first looks at 3D Mario U, SSB4, and MK8, so it can't possibly be another total letdown.

Well Ubisoft just annonced their first game with no Wii U version. I guess we saw this coming though.

Yep anything not confirmed I'm not getting my hopes up for.

Anyone else feeling concern or annoyance even with one more day left?

Hoping for the best but expecting or perhaps wouldn't be surprised with a bad turn out?

Have faith going forward or dread?

Bothering to watch the other conferences at all even knowing many of those third party game simply aren't coming?

I'm talking more from a gamer's perspective then from Microsoft's position. Lots of great-looking games shown, not sure how that could be considered "lackluster".

Well the industry seems to collectively decided Nintendo doesn't exist at all this year so it's a little disheartening, but like I said Im interested in seeing what they have to show. Maybe if I bought a Wii U expecting it to be my main platform I would be more upset. This is just something I and others will have to accept.

The sad thing is the Wii U can so handle "The Crew"

...Maybe we will get lucky and they will announce a Wii U version at a later time like Watch Dogs and Splinter Cell?

How are you guys doin :)

Because the only games that were even remotely interesting could be provided by Sony at possibly a cheaper cost without the drama of DRM (as of now anyways).

I expected EA to never say the word "Wii U", but not Ubisoft... :(

I don't expect Ubisoft to announce anything new for Wii U. To its credit, it has been the most supportive of the platform, but now it is switching gears to focus on the other platforms, and I doubt it will be as supportive of Wii U in the future as it is for this year.

Other than Below, nothing was really that groundbreaking. They were all very similar to each other or completely devoid of any imagination. Ironically, it also didn't show why an Xbox One is necessary at all, a criticism that has been targeted at the Wii U since the reveal.

EDIT: Talking about the exclusives, Witcher 3 looked amazing and I don't even know what it's about.

Why should I buy a One? They didn't give me an answer.

I never said they did. But calling the showing boring/lackluster? I was thoroughly entertained even if I wasn't convinced to buy a One (I'll be getting a PS4). Lots of great-looking games shown.

Nintendo cannot compete with the quantity of games that MS and Sony has/will show, they cannot compete in the graphics are, they do new core IPs every decade or so. So my expectations are low as they can be.

Yours should be too.

Well, if you are into such titles that's great. I prefer the quirky stuff which isn't just the same over and over again. Not too confident that Nintendo will help with that either. At this point, I'll probably focus on Android gaming and the indie scene...

That's great and all, but a new Smash Bros and 3D Mario beats any game MS and Sony have. And thats the truth.

maybe, maybe not...

Ubisoft -

“We have big plans for Wii U. Our intention is to be the number one third party on Wii U, just like we were on Kinect and 3DS. We’ve always had a really close relationship with Nintendo so I’d venture to say that we did have an advantage in getting dev kits earlier than other people.”

Indeed, the similarity of the major games being announced lately and the complete focus on "mature" shooters is depressing but I've already come to the realization that "quirky" games just aren't a big part of the console scene anymore. :/

Haven't watched EA's, but yeah I found MS's conference to be boring as well. I can see why people would have liked it, though. Nothing they showed appealed to me at all.

As for tomorrow, Retro's new game is the only unannounced game I'm expecting to be shown off. I'm not expecting any out-of-nowhere game announcement (which is fine with me because Mario and Smash)

Anyone who turns to Android gaming as a salvation is someone I will never, ever see eye to eye on.

I liked Microsofts conference. The system pricing and DRM woes take away from it, but there be original and good games there.

We shall see about that. I mean, talk is cheap, right ? If Ubisoft is just going to focus on crap most of us don't care about like Rabbids and Just Dance, then Wii U owners aren't gonna care about Ubisoft.

I don't know own a XBOX and currently have the PS3 and Wiiu.

But that was a great press conference from MS. All games. No Kinect BS, game after game, 90+ minutes, and some of the games like Titan, Below, and Battlefield looked phenomenal.

I am already resigned to the fact that Nintendo obviously won't get any of these games or anything comparable. Nintendo better knock it out of the park with their own stuff. They won't look as good but they obviously might play much much much better.

Also we don't know how the Direct will play with the media, but the press conference format with live reactions just seems better IMO. We will see how it works. Nintendo needs to stop fucking around. They better not waste time with BS no one cares about. MS got that stuff out in their initial reveal. Their presser today was almost perfect. ALL GAMES. Even if you don't care for those games, at least it was all games.

Nintendo needs a proper install base first and then you'll start seeing more support for the Wii U. Obviously it will not be spectacular, but it won't be any worse than what we've already come to expect from a Nintendo console.

Whos talk is cheaper, yours or Ubis?

Check out that Ubisoft quote you posted. Can you really take Ubisoft seriously when they specifically mentioned 3DS and Kinect ? What impressive games have they released on them ? I just remain skeptical about Ubisoft's further commitment to Wii U in terms of core games.

His.

Ubi Soft is bringing Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell and Rayman to the Wii U this fall. They're backing it up.

I'm talking about future support. Not support for Wii U this year.

I mean, Ubisoft is like by far the best 3rd party publisher for the platform right now. There are a lot better targets for your ire out there..

In all honesty, I am more excited for Sonic Lost World alone than for any game shown so far today. Dead Rising 3 is the only one that I would buy day 1 if I already owned the system. How many gruff-voiced protagonist corridor QTE cinematic shooters can one person play in a year? As long as Nintendo shows Smash, 3D Mario, and Kart, I will be beyond happy. Anything else will destroy me.

By the way, I think today's XBox One conference validated Nintendo's idea of doing a Direct instead. Now there's no chance of game trailers launching without sound or developers standing on stage listening to cat calls in silence, and Nintendo can edit all of the rape jokes out of the script.

I am just praying for something new from the EAD Studios. Something different from an all-new ip to a resurrection. Anything really! The cycle can't keep repeating!

Or SPD in-house. Metroid for 3DS and Band Brothers international.
