Terrible numbers for the wii U and i have no idea how they can turn things around. 360 putting up better numbers than i would have expected. It is definitely performing better than is often implied in sales threads.
I thought it was also Italy and Belgium but maybe not.Reading Road's post - perhaps he was simply using UKGerFrSp as "Europe".
The numbers I posted were from a FT article. It reads like they're talking sell through.
I just don't believe those PSP numbers. Where is it selling? Mainland EU people, is the PSP still on sale over there?
Here in the UK PSP has been dead for about three years if not more.
exactly my thoughts and I am in Germany, I can't believe those numebrs PSP, it has been dead for years.

You know what? I thought 3DS was doing way worse hardwarewise in UK, especially looking at all the top 40s. Instead, it's just behind 360 and actually slightly ahead of PS3. And not that far behind 360. I'm not saying it's a good result ( it isn't), but I thought it was way worse.
Also: 3DS is the best selling console not just in France (where it's beasting), but in Belgium and Italy too looking at this chart

Also, you might be mixing some shipped and sold figures. 360 shipped 500k to all of Europe in 2005 for example, not sold through, and not justfor these 7 specific regions.
Hard to imagine Nintendo having a good E3, or year in general right now.
Time for some heads to roll at their European operation imo.
I have my doubts.I wonder if the PSP is selling as a cheap media player as opposed to a games console?
Surprised to see that the Wii sales are still matching or outselling the 360 everywhere in Europe on that chart (other than the UK).
I guess because we only really hear about the UK sales I had a dimmer view of how it was selling.

I don't know how multinational works but I'm fairly confident it is more complex than just a bunch of orders from Japan. For instance, people point to the marketing being a failure for the WiiU, yeah Nintendo Japan might have decided the name but someone at Nintendo Europe contracted marketing agencies to sell this product. They failed, no? Needs to be accountability for the poor performance. Some can be chalked up to the economic troubles, pricing etc. But even so, this is laughable. It has sold much better in America. Why can NoA follow these "orders" so much better, I ask.why at their euro division? they are simply following orders from the japanese division no? that's where heads need to roll, they should have rolled after the 3ds debacle but didn't and thus we have the current wii u debacle.
So is 3.8 million units sold a good number for vita compared to what 3DS sold this year? Won't this go down his year with no major game releases?

No, also keep in mind Vita was launched that year in US,Europe (with the realtively high sales launch weeks bring). So is 3.8 million units sold a good number for vita compared to what 3DS sold this year? Won't this go down his year with no major game releases?
As i said in the PAL charts recently the software charts are misleading. Home consoles tend to have better representation on the charts regardless of hardware sales.

Well thats not misleading in the purpose of the charts. Handhelds traditionally have much lower attach rates, and 3DS and Vita even lower than normal.

Lower absolute sales - maybe
But attach rate is probably lot higher then for DS/PSP.
Lower hardware sales mean higher hardcore gamer ownership so attach rate should be higher.

Do we know Vita marketshare numbers for US & Japan?
If it has the highest marketshare in the UK, I'm going to exploded with nationalistic pride.

Still kinda shocked its below 500k. An unmitigated disaster. Seems like Nintendo has forsaken the entirety of Europe at this point if they're really not prepared to make a savage pricecut barring a fluke fad out of nowhere in the vein of Nintendogs/Brain Training.
VITA UK FORCE REPRESENTTTTTTTTTTTT~
Err, I was thinking about numbers like LayLa posted, so total market share, not just HD market share.
