stopping playing a fairly flawed game after 50 hours or so to wait for a patch is entitlement?

Yeah but there are animals on earth that look sticthed together, like tapirs and platypuses. It would bother me if all the creatures looked stiched together, but this so far seems to be the only one with that look. So far I've been very pleased with creature variety and the fact that it can throw up stuff that looks so different is a positive. I'd like to find at least a few WTF animals that make no sense. If that's all the game was then ok it would be a problem - but there are plenty of more mundane looking things too.
Less weird? Ok then. Why not? People thought the platypus was a fake for decades.
Arguably this creature is less weird.
I like the text in the game. It reads 80s' text adventures.
Wow at the new stream. That planet looked mind blowingly big and beautiful! Also love how it would have taken him 3:00:00 to get there with just the normal thrusters.
OMG THAT WATER HNGGGG
after watch a fairly amount of stream, all i can say it is a really tedious game, or the streamer was no very creative in the gameplay. He just keeps walking on a really boring look planet savaging stuff. at least the grass looks cool
Judging by that player's grasp of upgrade and management mechanics, it could be fine but he's just not getting it.
Why not?Do you honestly believe that there is an existing creature in the universe that has green dinosaur-like back legs, brown deer-like front legs and a slug neck/face? 3 different animal parts in one creature? Hey, I love me some universe imagining and I believe other life forms exist in this universe, but really? I understand you wanting to defend a game you anticipate, but that looks ridiculous and unbelievable. Not a deal-breaker mind you, but it looks stupid imo. Yes, I understand that it is procedurally generated. But still.
If Donald Trump can exist in this world, then a penis neck mouth sucking deer can exist in another imhoDo you honestly believe that there is an existing creature in the universe that has green dinosaur-like back legs, brown deer-like front legs and a slug neck/face? 3 different animal parts in one creature? The planet retrodigital is on right now is really beautiful.
All I wanted it to be was an infinite alien hiking adventure, and that looks like exactly what it is.Space sims are not for everyone. I am just glad that I now have one without all of the convoluted and sterile systems, but instead is easier to play and has some astounding atmosphere. It's a game that I have always wanted.
I swear I will kill this creature as soon as I see it.![]()
Ok,this is just dumb...
Three clearly different body sections stitched together like Frankenstein's monster, different colors and it's a quadruped creature with no eyes, nose or mouth?
The temp is -20C, which is well below freezing, so how does this creature "eat" nutrients on a frozen planet? It has an ocean bottom-feeders characteristics, but it's on land with 4 legs and a long neck.
I know it's just a videogame, but this makes no sense when Sean said ecology and environment were factors in animal generation.
What really messes it up is the fact that textures aren't dynamic. It's just SO very clearly three separate pieces of different models stitched together instead of seeming like an alien that evolved based on the environment.![]()

Because I am not an idiot. Why not?

That looks weird for sure but is it 3 animals stitched together with the 3 original colours? No, it isn't. It is a realistic alien looking "argh get it off me!" type creature. If you think that leech-giraffe is weird then have a look at this...

And that one lives on earth. LMFAO!
It's incredible and a little sad knowing I'll never see that amazing planet the streamer just left. This game's gonna be great to have streamed in a window while I work, since the usual idea of spoilers goes out the window because I'll never have the same experience anyway.
Edit: Streamer just looked around in the cockpit, nice.
The IGN First video and the E3 2015 demo. Land on planets, mine, look around at the landscape and animals, learn words from monoliths, crafting, shoot stuff if you want. Same stuff we are seeing out of the leakers. I don't know what else anyone was expecting.

Gorgeous.
I don't see how it could be fine to be honest, especially with the whole docking situation.

Based on the bts videos we've seen, that's not how creature generation works. Body shape is determined by a series of sliders and algorithms that work to mold (like clay) a particular shape; it is not a pre-made asset. Idk why the game painted the animal's hind quarters with one texture and it's upper body another. Because alien weirdness? What really messes it up is the fact that textures aren't dynamic. It's just SO very clearly three separate pieces of different models stitched together instead of seeming like an alien that evolved based on the environment.
