No one playing Phoenix Wright 3?

I want that Phoenix Wright plush toy so bad. :D

Wait, that's the plush? The one inch thing? I got one of those from EB and I didn't even pre-order. I bought the game and the guy behind the booth just threw it to me.

You people shouldn't have pre-ordered from Capcom...

I wonder if it's hard to find import copies of the best price DS edition of the first one. that's a good route for getting the english version of the first game, since it's the same localization.

I've seen used copies of the first game in every Gamestop I've been to the last few days. If someone needs a copy of the game, check there.

I am picking this up on Thursday finally and was thinking about how the 5th case in the first one had nothing to do with the mythos of the Phoenix Wright series and it sort of ruined Part 2 just a little bit for me. I mean Edgeworth developed alot during that case and then they threw it all out since it wasn't in the original GBA games. I think I had the most fun solving that case.

Am I the only one who really laughed at "PSYCHOLOCK" ? :P It was one of the better jokes, haha.

Ok just finished the game. Wow great ending. Now I kind of know why many are so mad about the 4th game. I read all the spoilers so it wasn't just me. Really hope Capcom fixes that in the next installment.

Do one of Franziska and I'll love you forever. Your style would totally match with her.

Anyway I just got to the big courtroom twist in Case 5 Part 4-2. That's the one where you realize that
the Iris that's been testifying all this time has really been Dahlia in Maya's body
. Holy shit. I actually spoiled most of this case's twists a long time ago, including who the actual killer is, but that one caught me completely off guard.

Absolutely beautiful. This case is a work of genius.

Speaking of Iris, I still think she is one of the best girls in the AA franchise.

spoiler for case 5
Maya also looks good with her hair down after channeling Dahlia. She should keep that hair style instead of the mess she normally has.

I'm only in the second case of PWAA3. Please tell me there aren't any more names that start with "De."

DeMasque
DeKiller
DeLite

Please edit so that says Case 5. Got spoiled for me, but oh well. I'm sure other people might get pretty pissed though.

Well, DeMasque -is- DeLite, that's alright.

But, for DeMasque and DeKiller, that seems to be the set way that they translate names that were actually words in Japanese (Sazaemon Koroshiya, or Kamen Mask.)

Also, DeLite is a decent translation of his Japanese last name "Amasugi," or "too sweet"

In case you didn't know, they switched artists after the first game, but kept the old sprites for Phoenix, Edgeworth, Maya, etc. The new artist did a good job of fitting in their superior work with the old style, but there is a clear magnitude of difference there.

In other news, I just beat the game. Wow. Holy shit. I'd heard Case 5 was good, but I wasn't prepared for this level of awesome. Godot's backstory was truly sad. This case had so many setpiece moments I hardly know where to begin. The part that shocked me the most was probably
when you realize that the Iris that's been testifying all this time was actually Dahlia in Maya's body
. But in the end Godot's story dominated the rest.

Are you a professional illustrator, perchance?

Nice job. I think the Godot one is still the best though, I might make a poster out of that.

Go edit your earlier spoiler post, it's case 5 not 4.

Just binged though this game and man was it good.

I almost didn't get this game because of how bad JFA was. It was torture finishing that game. It it was for GAF and all the people that like me loved AA but hated JFA that raved about T&T I probably would have missed this gem.

T&T was excellent especially the main story cases. Case 5 was probably my favorite case in the whole series. It wrapped everything up so nicely pretty much tying up all the lose end. This is how you make a good trilogy.

Probably the only issue in the game was how they ordered the cases. Case 4 should have been the first case and Case 1 should have been case 4. The surprises would have worked much better than way (Plus I thought case 4 was easier than case 1)

Also

Playing as Edgeworth was great, he absolutely destroyed fran.

That wouldn't have worked. It would have spoiled
Godot's identity.
Also
Edgeworth would make a fantastic defense attorney. He's even better than Phoenix.

My gripe was how easy case 4 was to the first 3.

Loved Gumshoe in it though when he was hitting on Mia.
My favorite part was when Armando and Edgeworth started trashtalking each other.
Godot
versus Edgeworth, go!

I finally picked this up the other day. I'm well into Case 3 now, and I'm enjoying it a lot, more so than JFA, maybe as much as AA. I have to say though, while the music is better than that in JFA, it's still quite disappointing when compared to the first game's soundtrack.

Have they ever mentioned the judge's name? He seems to be in every one but I know next to nothing about that guy. Hell he could be 3 feet nothing and I wouldn't know.

The first one has the best music, I agree. I hated JFA's soundtrack though, so T&T's music was like a breath of fresh air. It's actually thrilling, as good Phoenix Wright music should be. And of course there is Godot's theme as well.

AA4's soundtrack is completely new, and while I didn't like it much at first it's starting to grow on me. I'm now hooked on the new Investigation ~ Cornered (Variation).

Holy crap. I just finished this game today. Now I know why you guys call it the best in the series.

I really wish the fourth PW (or should I say AA) game had an English version included with it like the last three.

No, I hope that capcom learns their lesson and never does it again after seeing how the third game bombed hard in the USA.

Most of the core fans already got it way before release.

It's been what, 3 weeks since I got my PW plushie keychain? Crapcom has still not shipped my copy of the game. W. T. F.

Well, he is very easily persuaded, so some call him Judge Fickle. But he hands down the correct verdict every time, so he's also known as the Great Judgini.

Jeez, that has got to suck. I would have broken by now and just boughten it elsewhere. I still can't believe Capcom USA could mess up that badly.

Haha, I can't believe you still remember that line.

Case 5 is awesome. Really, really awesome.

This game is the best in the series. I have to resort to FAQ at least two time before I can finish this game.

Can hardly wait for the next game.

The soundtrack works so well. The world needs a Phoenix Wright anime series.
There's a manga, but I doubt it was successful enough to get its own series.

I wouldn't mind one in the vain of, say, Detective Conan.

Actually the first trial was conducted by the judge's Canadian half-brother... and given the fact that he was going to find Atmey guilty of a fictitious crime in Case 2 and had the defendant kill themselves in Case 4, I'd be inclined to think that his track record isn't as sterling.

Wait, don't you get hints that it was the judge, seeing as the judge remembers the fake Phoenix Wright (Don Tigre?)

Yeah I'm on Case three and am really enjoying it so far. As with some of you, I thought JFA was kind of meh, except for its Case 4 and Franziska. Must. Keep. Throwing. Seeds.

I'm kind of disappointed I'm done with the first three Ace Attorney games. I finished all three within a year and went back and played them some more. Bring on Ace Attorney 4 Capcom.

So I just finished Case 5.
HOLY FREAKIN CRAP CLASSIC TURNABOUT MUSIC. That was such an awesome way to set up the final stretch
. I lol'd at all the Canadian references too. Damn. This was so epic. I think it beats out Case 4, PW1 for me. Not sure, I might need to replay that because my memory was a bit hazy on it making some parts of this case harder to understand.

Definitely the overall best cases in the series. Although Case 3 seems a little useless really. Godot is too awesome as well.

So I beat the game last night.

I'm a little conflicted. I think as far as tension goes, JFA Case 4 is the best of the series. That one was exhausting in a good way, and not just because it was a lengthy case. As far as story and characters go, T&T Case 5 is the best of the series. The reasons for Godot's hatred of Phoenix Wright work better than Franziska's reason for "revenge" or why Edgeworth became a prosecutor. Overall I still love facing off against Edgeworth. He's the classic baddy.

I also thought it was a nice touch that Iris was the one who was Phoenix's girlfriend from years back. I hadn't expected that given the trademark changes of character most of the murderer's (in this case Dahlia) exhibit.

Unlike in JFA or PWAA, there weren't a whole lot of major plot twists that caught me offguard. Again, exactly WHO you're defending in JFA Case 4 and WHY is the best in the series for me, but I hadn't expected the true murderer of T&T Case 5.

It was nice to see everything wrap up... and I'm sorta wondering where Apollo Justice will take the series. Somehow it won't feel right without Phoenix.
