I see NSMB2 on DS2 as a launch game Fall 2011, if DS2 does come out before I still think NSMB2 will hit Fall 2011.

Nintendo will have learned a lot from SMG and NSMBW. They're probably going to introduce a more in-depth multiplayer element (making this a focal point of their ad campaigns) and try to bounce off the success of NSMB. Nintendo are getting better and better at marketing their new high-profile releases, so I wouldn't be surprised if this does a Halo/Kingdom Hearts/etc 2 and sells more than its predecessor.LINK.AGE76 said:SMG2 will sell well, it may not reach SMG1 sales but still sell well. If Nintendo advertises it with bits from NSMBwii and show that players of NSMBWii need to play SMG2, then it will sell pretty well.
It also had a pretty good difficulty level.thepotatoman said:Seriously is there anyone that owns a wii that wouldnt want this game? It captured the casual crowd by being a simple mario, it captured the hardcore crowd by having absolutely no competition, it captured the rental crowd by being multiplayer heavy, captured the pirate crowd by needing system menu 4.2(?), and it captured the nintendo fanboy buy having so much fanservice and this is all on the largest install base this generation.
I can't believe a large percent of these 10 million only bought it because of the mario and nintendo names but what can you do. Nintendo probably likes being the market leader and sole developer for their platform.

What? Does the DS need as much help selling hardware or software? Uh, not that the Wii does, I suppose.JasonMCG said:Good for you, Nintendo, but this should've been on the DS as NSMB2.

I hope you haven't played Galaxy. But I guess that wouldn't count, since there's no question; Galaxy simply is your favourite Mario.Ranger X said:In all honesty, it's right up there with Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World.
And I am not joking. It's the first time I question my Super Mario top 3 since Super Mario World release.

If you take critics (Galaxy) and sales (NSMBW) out of the equation... I dunno... opinion seems pretty evenly split, at least according to GAF threads and those of other sites.Michan said:I hope you haven't played Galaxy. You need to return to the official thread, my friend. That topic was more of a splooge-fest than Hugh Hefner's 50th birthday on acid filmed by an amateur Japanese porn director with a 10 minute deadline and a cast of young adults fresh out of boys school.BowieZ said:If you take critics (Galaxy) and sales (NSMBW) out of the equation... I'm too dumbfounded that your opinion isn't ordained by the masses.Dogenzaka said:I'm left dumbfounded.
I found plenty of other titles I thought were better than NSMBWii and this still outsold all of them combined most likely.

Even if you take the harshest critiques at face value, according to them this game was made for you.klee123 said:Recently played Mario 2 FDS on the VC and had a lot of fun with it. I'm thinking about jumping into NSMB Wii, but considering that the last new release Mario game I played and loved was Mario world on SNES over a decade ago, is it good? Not really into the 3D Marios and missed out on the DS version, so I'm kinda keen on this.
It was on that cool January morning that Dogenzaka discovered he was, in fact, not the main character of the universe.Dogenzaka said:I'm left dumbfounded.
