Yeah, these benchmarks make me wonder if I even need a 1080. I'm looking for 1080p/144fps. Decisions decisions...The 1070 looks outstanding. Might even replace my 970 with one.

I can't decide if I want to get a 2k monitor with 60hz or a 1080p monitor with 144hz G-Sync. Someone tell me what to do. Gsync 144hz right?
Why not 1440p 144Hz?I can't decide if I want to get a 2k monitor with 60hz or a 1080p monitor with 144hz G-Sync. Someone tell me what to do. Gsync 144hz right?
What do you mean by 2k?
Why not 1440p 144Hz?
You can get IPS 2560x1440 144Hz gsync monitors. They are pricey but that is something that will last you through many upgrade cycles.I can't decide if I want to get a 2k monitor with 60hz or a 1080p monitor with 144hz G-Sync. Someone tell me what to do. Gsync 144hz right?

It's not that I can't afford it, the price proposition just isn't worth it when I also game on three other consoles as well.
It seems like all of the top 144hz recommended monitors are 1080p though. I really don't want to drop 500 to replace my second monitor.
FPS is king, hard to go back afterwards.
Guru3D said:Face it, the 1080 is the card we all want but cannot afford. The next best thing is going to be the GeForce GTX 1070 and yeah, this little freaky deaky still has got plenty of ooomph under the hood. In fact, more then plenty for any PC gamer out there that plays his or her games up-to the WQHD domain and 2560x1440 ('ish)

Any reviews check Ram speeds for the 1070?
Linus Tech Tips has a 1070 review! here
Gamestar (german site) has a power consumption of 245 watts under max load for the 1070. That can't be true, right? That's less than my 460 I used to have.
669€The 1080 is going for 800 EUR minimum in Germany at the moment. What the heck? 600 $ in the US, 800 EUR in Europe. Makes sense, right? I can't imagine that the price for the 1070 will be below 600 EUR around here. What a joke.
Both use similar size chips.GTX 460 was rated at 160W TDP, 1070 is 150W.
So?Both use similar size chips.
It's not surprising. I guess it was more in response to the person you were responding to.
Well, yes and no as both 670 and 770 were rated at a higher TDP levels while being based on a small GPU as well. 1070 is a bit of an outlier in power consumption for an x70 card. Not that it matters much as the difference isn't big. It's not surprising. I guess it was more in response to the person you were responding to.
All depends on the process the chips are on and the frequencies, besides leakage.Well, yes and no as both 670 and 770 were rated at a higher TDP levels while being based on a small GPU as well. 1070 is a bit of an outlier in power consumption for an x70 card. Is a 500 watt power supply enough for the 1070?
The 1070 looks outstanding. Might even replace my 970 with one.

So far we've seen pictures of EVGA, MSI, Inno3D and GALAX 1070s - makes me hopeful that there won't be too long of a gap between the FE on June 10 and their release dates.
