booooooooooooLastly, from Anandtech:
http://www.anandtech.com/print/8526/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-review
from the benchmarks its easily 10-15% better than a 780 and that without MFAA.The $330 GTX970 for GTX780 level performance seems like a good deal.
I'm torn, I have no clue if I should wait for 20/16nm or get this card,.
Tempted to go from 780 to 980 but I may wait. When do ya'll think <20nm will come?

no release date?
Why would you?

Who's to say when 20/16nm will arrive. Buy it and enjoy.
Yeah, it has to be October at this point. Might announce the date at EGX 2014 next week.

Also amazon apparently had them up for sale early by accident todayReview sits are saying its a hard launch and we've seen boxed cards in retail backrooms... so hopefully these drop in an hour or so!
VR SLI is two cards each rendering their own view. Essentially SFR with a vertical split. Very cool.

cnet said 32 minutes ago that this is on sale tonight, is it?

I'm F5ing Newegg lol
So without going into detail, this whole thing means nothing to me since I have a 780 ti right?
Non-reference board reviews already.

Exactly the one I'm getting .

Yeah. If you're gonna buy anything, buy another 780ti for sli. That'd be much smarter than moving to either of these new cards.

How so? Another 780Ti would cost $700.
I would much rather offload my current 780Ti for ~$500, and buy the superior 980 for $550.
Even if I go SLI, the 980s would cost me a difference of $600, vs spending an additional $700 for the second 780Ti.
This'll be the year I upgrade from my GTX 460. VR direct is too much to resist.
The 780ti is going to get real cheap now.
I want to see how much that EVGA with the ACX 2.0 is going to run for...
I might get two 970's.
Holy.. $350??
Done and done.

It's being discontinued I read. I wonder how that'll effect things.
I'm expecting nVidia to advertise some sort of Oculus bundle in the future, whenever retail hits. I wouldn't upgrade a videocard for VR until the Oculus is on store shelves.
