Welp, my EVGA GTX 1070 FTW came this afternoon and after installing it, which took a while because the card barely fits in my OG Storm Scout and I had to rearrange things to get it in but yeah, I didn't hit the silicon lottery jackpot but I guess it's not terrible and of course Micron as all new cards seem to be switched right away to the slave BIOS since that's what I always used on my 970 SSC, minimum fan speed is set at 20%. Card's max boost was 1987 for a second and then to 1975 for a bit but even with an aggressive fan curve with PL and Target Temp set to max it still settles at 1936 in the benches/stress testing I've done so far. I need to do more playing around with over clocking but from little I did I don't know how well this card is going to like being over 2GHz, it definitely didn't like it when I accidentally set the core to 2113 and instant hard lock when Heaven started, heh. Haven't really messed with the memory yet, I'll probably do that tomorrow. Not going to bother sharing benches, we already know where the card's performance is.
Oh pretty lights!
