Tiny Update #1 September 20th, 2016
Toshiba, Megachips, and Macronix are all involved with the Nintendo NX.
Toshiba is the worlds second-largest NAND chip maker after Samsung. They also manufactured the flash memory chips for the Nintendo 3DS.
NX hardware is finalized. Dont expect any drastic changes.
NX is now entering a very early stage of production.
Zero percent chance of NX being delayed from its March launch.

It's a huge miss if the battery life isn't great. One of the few areas a gaming handheld can hope to compete with the phone already in your pocket is by having vastly better battery life for gaming.
If my (non-explosive) Samsung Galaxy Note and the NX give me the same number of hours of gaming before their batteries go dead, the NX is a less attractive option since I have to have the phone on me.
