i love how this one sermon is the only this pastor has ever preached before. i guess he said the same thing week after week, year after year.
I don't have a wikipedia link. Google it.onemic said:WTF?
:lol fucking patheticthekad said:Wtf, are you dense? He is saying that if Americans fall for this Wright/guilt-by-association bullshit then they deserve what they get. I know you need to fill your hourly "omg obama ain't no messiah" quota, but at least choose a post that is even partially applicable to your transparent agenda.
avatar299 said:I know this a tired argument, but I have to ask. What is so special about whatever Barack is going to do that will undoubtedly save this country from it's evil future. Something Hillary and mcCain won't do.
Especially Hillary. It's not like they are different on any issue.
avatar299 said:When did i disagree with you. I'm still voting Obama.
avatar299 said:Ami, you know that is full of shit. Obama is going to win. The only people who are think he is going to lose are
1) people who like being victims
2) foam at the mouth Obama supporters(Harson, Lefty, Zeed, Half of the OT). The very thought of obama losing sets them in a rage greater than a mother saving her baby
*3) Newscasters
*(The know Obama will win as well, but group 1 and 2 will watch their channel if they report the news in a way that will force engagement. For people who hate Fox News, they sure as hell watch it a lot)
avatar299 said:I don't have a wikipedia link. Google it.
:lol fucking pathetic
What i'm saying is that this and the pastorgate stuff could seriously be a dark cloud over obama. He'll have to try to explain both of these associations while at the same time voters would be like...."umm". Pastorgate blew up out of no where and cnn and fox already knew about that until the video came out. Mccain WILL run with that. I see why he won't. All he have to do just say he's associated with an american terrorist and it'll stick.quadriplegicjon said:yes.. i know. but what exactly was the extent of their relationship? it really is a non-issue.. which is why it barely got play when it was first 'discovered.' you can bet your ass that this would have already been blown up if it was possible.
Amir0x said:being a member of the scene, Obama accepted a $200 dollar donation from the man. 25 years ago.
Yeah, down with his presidency! He did drugs too (but he exaggerated how much in his book, another fabrication)!
Amir0x said:ALSO, for the record, I don't think Hillary Clinton would dare bring this Weather Underground business up.
Because Bill Clinton pardoned major Weather Underground members Susan Rosenberg and Linda Sue Evans shortly before leaving office in 2001.
Which is WAY FUCKING WORSE than accepting a 200 dollar donation from Ayers 25 years ago.
That's why i'm voting for himAmir0x said:First of all, Obama and Hillary do disagree on specific policy DETAIL... of those, I tend to side with Obama.
So the definite improvement is now a might? heh fine whateverAmir0x said:Second of all as has been stated over and over again, voting Obama is not merely voting for his policies, but his political approach. Will he live up to his post-partisan, 'across-the-aisle' rhetoric? Who the fuck knows! But it's a lot more appealing of a shot than the politics-as-usual, Republican playbook bullshit Hillary has been playing at, and not much needs to be elaborated on the differences between McCain and Obama.
ummm...yeah. I don't understand why people get so god damn offended on GAF if you don't agree on every single thing. The way some of you act, it's like obama is paying GaffersAmir0x said:So you're just responding to me for fun, and you're not choosing specific aspects of my comments to criticize and disagree with? Seems an odd thing to do but hey, your free time.
He'll win that too. All he has to say is "You support George bush" and John McCain loses a vote.Amir0x said:Oh, he'll win the Democratic Nomination.
It's the general election that is worrying now.
I don't agree. Why should i be ashamed for having a higher intellect and conversing with someone with a higher intellect. Ami understood what i said to him. You didn't.harSon said:I agree, you should be ashamed.
avatar299 said:But I'm not joking about the fascism comment. To many people are not critical of Pres Obama and being critical of someone does not mean you oppose him so i like questioning what he says.
ari said:actually that was more like 7 years ago when obama first ran for the senate, while he served on the woods fund panel with him.![]()
I don't remember ever damning Obama in this thread. i remember damning his pastor and disagreeing with some of the things Obama said, but damning him. No i don't remember that.AmishNazi said:Yet you are damning him for his connection to a man who questions the government and the way it uses religion as a shield.
Both democrats will be hurt if the news media break the story. But like i said, its all over the conservatives airwaves, just today sean hannity did like an entire hour on it. Sooner or later it'll roar its head.Amir0x said:I didn't remember exact details of time and money, so I just basically agreed with what someone else stated above me.
That said, again, Hillary won't bring it up - the skeletons in her closet regarding Weather Underground are far worse.
ari said:Both democrats will be hurt if the news media break the story. But like i said, its all over the conservatives airwaves, just today sean hannity did like an entire hour on it. Sooner or later it'll roar its head.
He even read quotes and did an interview with one of the members. I say any day now. :/
But the paper said that, in a statement, a spokesman for the Obama campaign, William Burton, said, "Sen. Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence ... But he was an 8-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost 40 years ago is ridiculous."
Like I said, I'm not joking about the fascists comments.APF said:Are we back to making lazy arguments like the world will fall into complete socioeconomic stasis or ruin unless a certain sainted individual wrests the reigns of power from an unenlightened and largely unworthy populace? I'm all for the argument that people deserve who they vote for, but really? Are we really making such a fearmongering and shallow argument here?
avatar299 said:Like I said, I'm not joking about the fascists comments.
Some Obama supporters are scary
APF said:Yes; please stop saying things I don't want to hear.
And that makes it okay?quadriplegicjon said:please drop it. you have political lunatics on all sides saying the same shit about their candidate.
have you defended hillary, mccain, huckabee, romney and paul supporters as well during the last 17 months.quadriplegicjon said:thats not it at all. i have no problems with people attacking obama as a candidate. i have issues when people start attacking his supporters.
hardly ever broken, so what ever.quadriplegicjon said:the news media already reported on this. the story was broken by the New York Sun, and CNN later reported on it.. once again. non-story.
obama's campaign even commented on it:
non-story. the end. please stop.
avatar299 said:have you defended hillary, mccain, huckabee, romney and paul supporters as well during the last 17 months.
thekad sure is an idiot. avatar sez "belief that only obama can fix our problems and all other candidates, even those extremely like him cannot sounds fascist; thekad has no idea what fascist is, reply with something completely off the mark making himself look even more like a joke.thekad said:APF and avatar sure do have selective hearing . Ami sez: if idiots fall for BS, they deserve what they get; APF/avatar reply: Fascist!
i would say there have been plenty of great political debate during the past year. They are just rare posts in 30 page threads, but whatever.quadriplegicjon said:i have stated that people should stop their bickering over those supporters. yes.
once again. i rarely ever see people complain about hillary supporters on here.. yet, most of the criticism i see.. tends to be about the 'cult' like nature of obama fans. ive seen people jump into these threads for the sole purpose of spouting off against obama fans, and thats it. no real political discourse. nothing. the only thing this shit does is derail threads.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0308/Meghan_McCain_unplugged.htmlGQ has a must-read interview with Meghan McCain, the 23-year-old daughter of the candidate.
Likening herself to dad, Meghan says: Im almost incapable of bullshit. Hes the same way.
And then she proves it, in ways that are both refreshing and bracing.
Just like her dad, Meghan's comments will at times give the campaign some headaches. But just as the elder McCain's candor has proven to be more asset than drawback in his political life so far, at least Meghan's I-am-who-I-am persona has to date been an unalloyed asset to her dad. Just check out her blog, which has taken off and drawn many young women into the fold (and a few young guys who may or may not come for the fashion tips).
With that, Meghan McCain:
On Obama:
Hes a rock star, she says of the Illinois senator. Everybody flipped out, but I think universally women find him attractive. Whatever.
On Romney:
Mitt didnt keep it real, Meghan says, munching on a nacho chip.
On the prospect of Huck being veep:
Thats not going to happen, Meghan says firmly. I dont think theyd be a good match for a lot of reasons and am not even sure if thats what Huckabees going for, anyway. I think he wants to be the head of the evangelical movement.
And on her 96-year-old grandmother:
Nana drives fast, Meghan says. She got pulled over for doing 112 in Flagstaff about a year ago.
avatar299 said:Edit: and you shouldn't be offended when someone attacks "political lunatics"
APF said:Lets not further bring this into personal bickering. At the same time, it's hypocritical to just condemn attacks against Obama supporters when the comments in question were made in relation to a post attacking people who aren't his supporters--ie supporters of other candidates.
before you quit, tell me where I'm wrong.thekad said:avatar doesn't know what fascist means nor does he understand what selective hearing entails. I quit.
I said some.quadriplegicjon said:there is a difference between attacking specific political lunatics.. and condemning all political supporters of one candidate.. which is what goes on here.

define fascism for me. you could've made a connection to authoritarianism or that it is a 'dictatorial' thing to say, i guess.avatar299 said:You pretty much just said stuff can't improve without Barack obama. That is a...really fascist thing to say actually.

That's racist!
As Bloomberg News reported recently, Obama and Ayers have crossed paths repeatedly in the last decade. In 1997, Obama cited Ayers critique of the juvenile justice system in a Chicago Tribune article on what prominent Chicagoans were reading. He and Ayers served together on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago for three years starting in 1999. In 2001, Ayers also gave $200 to Obamas state Senate reelection campaign.
Many details of the 1995 meeting are shrouded by time and by Obamas and Ayers refusals to discuss it.
The exact date is not known, but it was in the second half of 1995, before Palmers decision late in her losing congressional primary against Jesse Jackson Jr. to jump back into the special election for her state Senate seat. (Her decision produced a rift between her and Obama, who was able to get her thrown off the ballot on technical grounds.)
Thats too long ago thats ancient history, Palmer said, when asked of the meeting.
Dr. Young and another guest, Maria Warren, described it similarly: as an introduction to Hyde Park liberals of the handpicked successor to Palmer, a well-regarded figure on the left.
When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, Warren wrote on her blog in 2005. They were launching him introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread.
this is nothing like thatRiskbreaker23 said:you know its kinda funny that this situation is almost like the Return of the King episode of the Boondocks.
MLK wakes up and everybody is happy and first and then 911 happens and MLK comments on. Then all the tv shows and new channels start calling him un-patriotic and an al-queda lover.
avatar299 said:How rude. Would your messiah approve of this?
Just how exactly is the executive in chief going to solve these social problems. More affirmative action, more speeches.
Barack Obama didn't say anything new. He just said what everyone wanted to hear
White people are the solve reason for every problem in the world.
White people only see African women as something to fuck
White people created AIDS just to kill minorities
I don't know, but to me all of the above is racist.
