For probably the 35th time.

When will we see the new Gallup? If he drops again.... it's all over, isn't it?

Are we back to making lazy arguments like the world will fall into complete socioeconomic stasis or ruin unless a certain sainted individual wrests the reigns of power from an unenlightened and largely unworthy populace? I'm all for the argument that people deserve who they vote for, but really? Are we really making such a fearmongering and shallow argument here?

"Same shit, different day" I think that's the laziest way to make that argument. You made it much too busy and hard with your flowery prose.

No wonder why Fox News is running this stuff 24/7:

Florida: McCain 50 Obama 39
Ohio: McCain 49 Obama 41
NH: McCain 46 Obama 43
Colorado: McCain 46 Obama 46
Mass: McCain 47 Obama 47
Missouri: McCain 53 Obama 39
Kentucky: McCain 64 Obama 28

These are all polls post the crazy church rantings and Obama has dropped like a rock. Don't expect them to be this close in November (lol Mass) but this has hurt him.

Clinton didn't force him to go to that church for 20 years but she does seem to be benefiting from the backlash.

North Carolina: Obama 44 Clinton 43
PA: Clinton 51 Obama 35
West Virginia: Clinton 55 Obama 27

I dunno, national polls from Rasmussen has them both losing to McCain by double digits.

Oddly enough, it actually has McCain beating Clinton by even more than he beats Obama, probably because of the black vote.

I was obviously hoping for more, but that's at least the bleeding stopped. Quite the paltry rise for everything he said, but what can I say? At least there's still.... "Hope"! :D

this poll was taken the day of the speech so its going to go up

From Rasmussen:
African-American support for Clinton has collapsed, falling to 55% in the general election match-up. Obama, on the other hand, earns solid support from African-American voters but attracts only 36% of white voters in a match-up with McCain.

Clinton gets more white support but far less black support.
Obama gets a ton of black support but far less white support.

:/

clinton unnecessarily prolonging this battle among democrats has weakened the party.. since it hasn't allowed them to focus on a national level and on mccain. (thats what i meant). and i wouldnt be surprised if it was clinton's campaign that sort of nudged the media into this direction.

Yup. And it's only going to get uglier. I don't see how the dems come out with a viable candidate at the end of this, if it goes to the convention.

This is absolutely fucking ridiculous. Clinton has potentially costed the election for the Democrats.

She is such a fucking ass monkey! ARGGGGGGG

Obama's speech was absolutely amazing.

If nothing else, that gives me some hope the congressional races won't be as much of a massacre as I'm anticipating.

I don't understand why Gore hasn't stepped in. He's probably not looking for a cabinent position (unlike Edwards who has to step lightly). So, why hasn't he ended it?

I'm thinking Gore has probably broached the subject, but was rebuffed. Maybe Clinton's camp said no matter what they're going on.

BS.

Its Obama's fault that he could never finish the KO to Clinton. He had multiple chances and he couldn't do it. Endorsements left and right. Money overflowing. And the media behind him. And he still won't have enough regular delegates to get the nomination since the super delegates will have to decide.

And to think Clinton's camp HELD THIS FUCKING STORY UNTIL SHE WAS MATHEMATICALLY ELIMINATED FROM WINNING THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION AND THEN RELEASES IT is so fucking stupid. If she wanted to have released this shit she could have done after Edwards dropped out and have been the nomination weeks ago.

I can imagine how a speech like this must seem amazing to someone like you.

wat

It was the media that kept this close while he piled on eleven straight wins, and the media that makes it sound like there's an even race, when it's almost impossible for Clinton to win; her only path is through super delegates, and to do that she needs Obama to be so damaged that he's not viable any longer.

I agree here. It wasn't Obama's fault, it was the media and conservatives who want to prolong this fight. I don't think I need to explain the obvious benefits of the prolonged battle for each aforementioned group.

McCain's rise in the polls is due in part to lack of scrutiny by the media, while the democrats are too busy fighting each other. Of course he will rise as a result of the democratic circular firing squad, but if anyone thinks these numbers will hold till the general are fooling themselves.

I just saw a clip with McCain rambling on about Iran training and supplying Al-Qaeda, and he then needing to be corrected by Lieberman, only to make the same mistake again. I hope my fellow Americans are smart enough to realize that the republicans are so intent on interlinking Iran, Al-Qaeda, Iraq, Saddam, 9-11, etc that they are beginning to fool themselves. McCain is banking on Americans remaining too ignorant and stupid to realize this, I hope he fails in that regard.

When the democrats stop knee-capping each other, and start pointing out the serious flaws of McCain (such as poor foreign policy expertise, and him admitting that the economy is not his strong point) and linking him to the disastrous presidency of George Bush, you will see his numbers plummet. McCain will not be the next president, he will make for a stronger opponent than I would of liked, but I just don't see Americans wanting another four years of this crap.

I can't believe that people is blaming hillary for this wright fiasco. :lol

And who ever believes that Obama didn't have the media behind him is fooling themselves. MSNBC is the voice of his campaign. :/
