Oculus' Palmer Luckey funds white-supremacist/misogynistic/anti-lgbt harassment group

what is this "white supremacy group" doing?
e: so the nimble site looks like any other site that would campaign for trump, nothing inherently outrageous at that, unless I'm missing concrete examples.
looks more like the outrage is because he supports trump?

I'm also wondering. So far I've just seen a lot of people uttering their disgust at that Reddit post, which contains little more than his support for Trump and some possibly provocative statements about his wealth.

No, fuck him for having those beliefs and being proud of them. I'm glad he spoke out about them because now we know he's a piece of shit. So he's stupid and horrible instead of just horrible.

He spoke out and said that he believes Hilary is a corrupt warhawk, which even her supporters must know right? It's fine if they are willing to look past that and still think she is their candidate of choice, but surely you can afford people who don't agree with that the same level of respect?

When their beliefes are being racist fuckwits, yes, fuck them. The KKK also stands up for their beliefs. And guess what. FUCK THEM.
I think if you are tolerant person, you have to tolerate intolerance as well. I mean, they are human garbage, but even garbage has a place in the world.

Oh yeah liberal folks slandering and labeling half the electorate with extreme labels just because of the some of the views of right leaders/candidates.

I'm voting for hilary but calling all trump supporters white supremacists is disgusting, pathetic, and childish. There are other policies/ideals people might value more when choosing a candidate, not necessarily immigration policy or the character of the candidate. Lol.

Lol, extreme labels. Every day there is a dumber, more stupider bat shit insane thing Trump or someone who works for Trump says.

Please tell me the reasons people are voting for Trump that don't end up resorting to these views. Because almost everything goes with that guy.

The title of this post is patently ridiculous. You can disagree with the guy's politics, but calling him a white supremacist is dishonest, and completely unsupported by the facts.

The groupthink and double-standards around politics in gaming (and the tech industry in general) is tiresome. Smart people can (and do) disagree about politics, and we should (as a society) be able to have those sorts of disgreements without some strident outrage-brigade trying to immediately shout down (and shut down) anyone that doesn't agree with the twitter-consensus.

Nearly 50% of the country (based on polling) is going to vote for Trump..are all those millions of people automatically white supremacists?

I think this goes a bit beyond supporting a political candidate though, he is supporting that Milo guy and r/The_Donald goes beyond supporting Trump (who is racist enough as it is) into outright racism imo.

Considering that Trump has no actual plans or policies to begin with, that's a pretty terrible choice of a candidate. Coupled with the fact that you are enpowering a racist asshole and his racist views, you'd be no better than a racist to begin with.

Oh boy. That's definitely the main point you're supposed to get from that giant paragraph, yeah? 2$-( kind of nonsense are you posting.

No he is against immigration of Muslims. I don't believe he ever limited it to a skin colour.
I mean how much does he need to spell it out for you? Nobody in the world would deem this an acceptable response.

It is when you're only against the immigration and religions of non-white people. And when you use slogans of early 1900's white supremacists as your slogan.
I mean technically, being against people of the Islamic faith has nothing to do with their skin colour, as anyone can be a Muslim.
That said, I have lost any respect I had for Lucky.

TBH nothing in Luckey's dumbass post really jumped out as being white supremacist. He just comes off as a boiler plate bratty spoiled ass rich kid with a Atlas Shrugged enema.

Glazing over the fact that he's funding (as in giving money) to Nimble America, which... once again... is using super racist memes and propaganda to support a candidate who is at least suspect on racial relations.

What he's said is actually LESS important than the fact that he's giving these people money. THAT says more about his character than the words he used.

"Twitter-consensus"? There's no such thing.

No, they aren't automatically white supremacists, but they are voting to elect one as POTUS,which is even worse.

Being anti-immigration or against an organised religion isn't white supremacy though. Is that what you were talking about?

Mexicains are all rapists, "My african american over there", wants nationwide racial profiling for stop and frisk.

Dude has a clear opinion of where white people should be in the pecking order.

Okay, I'm obviously missing something here.

So Pepe is a "White supremacist meme" because it's associated with the "alt-right" and "Nimble America" is a "White supremacist group" because it's an "alt-right" group? Is that correct?

Has Palmer or this Nimble America group actually put themselves forward as white supremacists, or is it just Clinton supporters slapping these labels on them?

As far as I can see, Palmer is just a Trump supporter with a bunch of money that made a bit of a douchey post of Reddit. Trump isn't some fringe political figure though, he is the republican nominee with a fair chance of being the next US President.

The "outrage" seems a bit over the top.

My name is SpotAnime and I approve this post.

Yeah! Fuck someone for standing up for their beliefs!

I mean, he has the right to stand up for his "beliefs," and this dude has the right to tell him to fuck off. The problem with Luckey's supposed "beliefs," however, is that they're founded on not supporting equal rights to begin with. Plus, active provocation without a real cause is tiresome.

I didn't say that at all, I just don't think that makes people that will vote for him automatically "White Supremacists".

It's almost like they're supporitng a white supremacist to occupy the highest place in US politics or something.

Supporting Trump while not being racist is like joining the KKK for their charity work.

It means they're okay with a white supremacist occupying the highest office in the country.

Well now we're going round in circles. My whole point was that I've not seen anything that shows Trump to be a white supremacist, other than attacks from his opponent.

If you only judge a candidate by what their opponents say about this, this election is Blonde Hitler vs Corrupt Corpse.

Being tolerant doesn't mean you have to like and/or accept everything and anything. That's not how it works.

There are other policies/ideals people might value more when choosing a candidate, not necessarily immigration policy or the character of the candidate. Lol.

"Well, this candidate has promised to kill all black people which I don't like and I disagree with him saying that women should stay at home. I will still vote for him cause his health reform sounds good though!"

Voting Trump means either you are a racist or you are fine having a racist as a president and the second one is only marginally better, if at all.

What the fuck is this? I thought Palmer was a cool guy, can't believe he's this shitty. I own a Rift and don't feel bad because I got it for free, but PSVR is definitely going to be my main VR device.

What? No, what the fuck

The place for garbage is in the garbage bin, not spewing hate speech in public.

Jesus Christ how dense can you possibly be? You could fill a fucking book with Trump quotes alone that show how much of a racist fuckwit he is.

I guess that means you're okay with ignoring the obvious signs to justify your decision to support a white surpremacist.

Why do people let public facing company officials be on twitter?

Then again, do people who play VR care that they are supporting Trump if they buy the Rift?

Ya'll read they're making anti-semitic and white supremacist memes, right? That Luckey is a GamerGater, right? Or that 8chan is the worst place on the internet and home of gamergate and has hosted child pornography and other disgusting things, right?

And that the people at Nimble America are white supremacists too? And that white nationalism is white supremacy? And that Milo is a proud and openly homophobic and racist? Or that Luckey's own girlfriend is openly racist and he's still with her and favoriting her racist tweets.

All of these Luckey seems to be in support of as well as Donald trump who encompasses many of these things all rolled into one.

No, this is the equivalent of the ol' schoolyard "I know you are, but what am I?" logic. Flipping it on the other person like "gotcha!" and thinking that makes you intellectually even.

Such an argument is embarrassing at best and reflects a deep lack of critical thinking.

Oh.....

Well, he has been using the language of hate his entire campaign run, promising to shut off America from the world and "make America great again" by deporting millions of brown people. He's been blaming black people for all their suffering and has hired the lead of Breitbart (a white supremacist site) to run his campaign.

He surrounds himself with people who say things like "racism didn't exist in America until Obama became president" and has staff that trolls known white supremacist chan boards for dank memes to post on Twitter.

Someone doesn't have to walk on stage in flipflops and say "I'm a white supremacist" in order for you to put the pieces together.

I judge Trump by his actions.
For example, denying blacks rental of his hotel rooms.
Not to mention all the other disparaging comments on other non-white groups of people.
This is not a conspiracy against Trump, it's reality that is documented.
