It seems like people give extremes of Japanese culture where there's always exceptions to either.
People make jokes that Japan is this sexually unhinged country full of openness and casual sex and porn. Unlike us religious Westerners. Making references to stuff like this.
Then you have people claiming that Japan is super sexually repressed, that they even prefer to use English words for sex because Japanese people are very bashful about the subject. Which is also why pornography is pixelated and censored. Because sex is more taboo in Japan than America.
And yet, that guy seems to have no problem being virtually.. well... in front of a room full of people. Something seems like it might be more in between. In certainly seems strange that someone would do that in a room full of people but that people wouldn't even want to be willing to talk about sex in Japan.
It also seems like variety shows in Japan talk about sex pretty openly. Around parity to Western talk shows.

I also cannot see how much improvement would be made by it being realistic and populated by white female supermodels with no people of colour in sight. And not only that, strange, the strange, bizarrely proportioned uncanny valley video game remakes that are common from developers going for "realism".
I don't understand the whole "trying to be cool and finding it weird that people find cartoon characters attractive". Because it really isn't weird. And people have been sexualizing cartoon characters since the 1950s cartoons.
