Now that I think of it, there was no Japanese speech..... It was added for N.A. and that's just during Some cutscenes.klee123 said:There wasn't much speech in the Japanese version in the first place.
So are you calling Milky a liar?madhtr said:
It should also be noted that Brave Story lets you switch between English and Japanese voiceovers, which is good -- although the English dub is fine (if Saturday-morning-cartoon quality), the Japanese just sounds cooler.

john tv said:There was speech in the Japanese version -- just not in the cut scenes. The majority of the game's voice work takes place during battle.
kenta said:Wait... That IGN reviewer says he'd like to see his characters change appearance with different equipment, but I specifically remember duckroll saying that was a really neat feature of the game. Change their armor and they look different in battle, etc.
Am I missing something? Is that not really in the game?
That, I don't actually know.ethelred said:Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification.
So was there Japanese voicework added during the cutscenes now? It'd be weird to have dual audio which features Japanese VA only in the battles and then English VA in cutscenes.
Yeah, their appearance changes with new equipment. It's not as substantial as Tales of the World (which has different types of equipment for practically every limb), but you'll see the weapon or the outfit change when you get new stuff, I think.kenta said:Maybe someone in here can answer my question from the other thread?

Cool, thanks. IGN never ceases to amazejohn tv said:Yeah, their appearance changes with new equipment. It's not as substantial as Tales of the World (which has different types of equipment for practically every limb), but you'll see the weapon or the outfit change when you get new stuff, I think.

Y2Kev said:Yeah. The female is Miki and the male is like Tsutaka or something. I changed my name, of course, but left Miki as is.

Y2Kev said:95% of RPGs need a "skip first two hours" button.

I'm really impressed with the presentation. Dog is named Kratos....8-4 did the localization? Is that the translation from Japanese or some creative playing?![]()
Nothing in the game was changed without the consent of the team, and it's actually quite an accurate translation. But thanks for the thought.Gokurakumaru said:I like well translated dialog, but this sounds like it's treading the line between good localization and just arbitrarily changing stuff for a joke. I'll get it when it gets a PAL release either way, but please, translators, do your jobs. No more, no less. You'd be fired if you butchered a novel with your own idea of clever in jokes.
Hmm, so that IS the final boxart! I really hate it... still getting the game though. Thanks.john tv said:

I like it too. I really love the character art for this game. You can see some more of it on the Japanese site: http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/bravestory/psp/index.htmlLinkzg said:I really like that, more games need to have horizontal box art. I dont know why, but I just really like the idea of it almost being like a picture.
