The transfer for hargreaves isnt looking too good at the moment, Bayern are insisting that they keep the player. Hopefully we can sort it out though. Hargreaves would add so much to our squad, he will make a difference. It looks like he does want to move to united, so bayern should just let him go as long as we pay the right price. The deal with senna has fallen through and we do need another midfielder, so we need to try hard to get him.

I hope sheffield united can do the almost imposssible and beat those scouser scums. Who knows, maybe pennant will get in a stress and score an own goal deliberately. Im beginning to hate liverpool more than chelsea.

Its been a decent first half, sheffied united have looked impressive, I thought that they would be under pressure for most of the first half, but they did very well. They kept possession well and had some chances which kept getting blocked by defenders. Liverpool are not doing as well as expected. They've had their chances, aurelio's free kick was nice, if only it was placed in the corner liverpool would be winning. The injury to riise is a concern, he looked like he was in real pain, judging by the way he was acting when he got the injury it could be a break.

It feels like Im talking to myself at the moment but Ive got to kill the time until the next game and until my fish and chips arrive.

Liverpool were lucky to get that penalty. There was no contact made. No player is to blame for it, gerrard didnt dive, he just lost his balance and fell, he was perobably as surprised as anyone else when the penalty was awarded. It was a harsh decision, but Sheff can feel proud, they held liverpool to a draw.

How much did it rain in the Northeast? The pitch at St. James Park is soaked. As for the game, I feel stupid for not picking Scott Parker for my fantasy football team. It was pretty slow for most of the first half, but it picked up towards the end. Wigan seems out of it. They have more shots on goal right now, but only 1 felt somewhat dangerous. Either way, the Premiership is back! Just an hour until the Bolton-Spurs game.

Wow

The Arsenal and Liverpool dropping points....:D :D

Now I find myself cheering for Bolton today and Man City tommorow.

I had Parker and then swapped him for N'Zogbia to cut down on money. Should have known the captain's always gonna start...

On the plus side I later swapped Defoe for Bent.

And it's not looking a good day for clean sheets; only Portsmouth and maybe Bolton coming away without conceeding.

In other new my boys at Birmingham City are looking like bouncing back up. Undefeated and top of the table! (thanks go out to Arsenal for the loan signings)

:D

I did the same thing except I had Bent from the start.

Hopefully Berbatov gets on the board, He's one of my strikers.

I also had Duff and Given tho...Do I get points since they won?

Wahoo! We got a point away to Arsenal! This is a realy good start for us.

Was working today so will have to watch Match of the Day for the highlights, sounds like a gripping last 10 minutes or so.

O'Niell is our saviour!

Its a good day for manyoo fans. Liverpool and arsenal both dropped points in games that they should have easily won. Im optimistic about tomorrow, Iv got a good feeling that we'll win tomorrow.

This is my fantasy football team

James

Carragher
Toure
A Ferdinand

Lennon
Scholes
Nolan
Benayoun
Duff

Rooney
Saha

The team isnt bad. Lennon is the only player who was part of a losing team and carragher did get injured, but it looks good with everyone else. Im relying on rooney and saha to score tomorrow, so if they do that should really help gather some points.

That's what the Arsenal and Liverpool fans said yesterday. :)
But those two teams are not as good as us ;). Im certain that we'll win tomorrow and my gut feeling with united is usually good.

I just feel the need to laugh at mama smurf and his team of thugs:lol . Losing 3-0 and getting 2 players sent off has got to hurt.

Wes: I didn't know you were a Villa fan!?

PS: I hate you.

:)

I seem to have hid my Villa fan identity quite well on here for some reason.

PS: Hahahaha

Can't wait for the yahoo scores to update, should be interesting. Shame Riise got injured for me.

Oh and it's nice to see Reading have such a good start. Not only did they win their first match in the Premiership, but they did it by coming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2. Then again, I cheer for them because they have 2 Americans in their starting 11 just like Fulham (unless something has changed).

Yahoo have started to put up the points for the fantasy game.

Why the hell wasn't Rosicky playing today?! My points look shocking right now.

Rosicky was injured - should hopefully be back next week.

My points are alright so far :D

Crouch didn't play either?! He's getting the boot now. I only picked him because he's a fellow tall guy :lol

Luckily I have a few Chelski and ManU players that should boost my numbers up a bit.

Now to find someone to replace Crouchy boy! This could take a while :lol

Ive only got one man u player playing tomorrow so unless Chelsea get thrashed i guess i'll be slipping downt the table a tad.

Well f*ck. I can't actually tell much from the game (except Portsmouth were better), as they probably should have beaten us by about that score at the end of last season too and we somehow came away 2-2. So whether we're crap this year or Portsmouth have kept up their form of the end of last year, I'm unsure.

Shocking that we had two sendings off eh? Blackburn players? Getting sent off? Why I've never heard such a thing in my life. Todd's wasn't fair to be...fair, that'll be rescinded.

Oh well, it's not like we haven't lost opening games before (such as last year). And hey, worst comes to worst...I'm still not a Middlesbrough fan.

Walcott did really well when he came on for Arsenal. As a winger I note. It's like I said in my predictions though, teams put all their men behind the ball against Arsenal (literally today, not even one up for the majortiy of the game from Villa) and there's no plan B. Very few long balls or play out wide behind the dfence, they have to go through the middle everytime. It's beyond me why Wenger hasn't worked on something else in training, they're going to lose so many points this season because of that lack of flexibility.

I'm 18th in the FF right now, but I don't mind, 5 of them haven't even played yet. And those who did, even a couple of stars, had bad days, which they won't throughout the season. I might as well post my team now, you'll all be able to see it by the time you can change things anyway:

Niemi

Heinze
Hyypia
Djourou

Lampard
Ballack
Zokora
Gonzalez

Henry
Shevchenko
Berbatov

My actual team has Rosicky instead of Gonzalez, but I saw he wasn't in the Arsenal squad and swapped him for the Liverpool player. I'll likely switch back when I can.

Oh and I realise Ballack won't play tomorrow, but he might mid-week and changing all the time is somehow tiring already.

Bellamy, Defoe, Van Persie, and Lennon killed me today. I was feeling good about these guys considering they were all going up against weaker (relatively) sides. :lol

Only have Cronaldo and Joe Cole tomorrow, and unless they tear it up, I doubt I crawl into the top 10. Oops and my goalie Van der Sar. Maybe it's not so bad now actually.

6th is respectable. COME ONE BALLACK/ANDRIY DOUBLE HAT TRICK TOMORROW?

lol, Ballack the P***y won't play today. Now you got the same problem Bayern had last year. He's so often injured.

Oh right, so I guess the opposite is true too, as some of mine rose.

Cole's injured btw. Could be for a little while still.

my team

Saha
Shevchenko

Gerrard
P.Neville
E.Davids
A.Robben
D.Ambrose

Terry
Carragher
Baines

terrible start really....it could have been worse i guess though, i had Ballack and Rosicky in my team originally but luckilly i found out they were injured, although one of my replacements (Ambrose) actually lost points :(

and for those who picked Rooney...did you think it was worth taking the hit for the game against Charlton since he wont be playing?

I'm 11th with only 3 players going up in value. I need to do some work.

My most expensive player (Pepe Reina) went down the most and my cheapest (Seol) wne up the most. Typical.

Have two defenders to play tommorow. Here's hoping.

This Fantasy football set-up is very different to what I'm used to. Usually it's 5 points for a goal; 3 for an assist; 4 for a clean sheet; 2 for a full appearence (1 for a subbed appearence); -5 for being sent off and -1 for each goal conceeded.

****ing hell, that was close. A point is better than nothing.

:lol Sums up my feelings exactly. It's easy to say in hindsight, but I never expected the easy win that others did, for a few reasons. Wenger said it best that the Grove is as foreign to Arsenal players now as it is to opposing teams, and it'll take ten games there to make it feel like home. Also a team with a new manager (particularly one of O'Neill's pedigree) always gives a new team a boost no matter what their talent level is, even if it's only for a little while. Throw in the World Cup malaise, first day nerves and a couple of injuries (Rosicky was sorely missed today, being one of only two players on the team who have the gumption to shoot it from 30 yards), and I figured 3 points would be tough to come by, especially if Villa got in front.

For some reason I knew they were gonna score on that corner, and I also knew that the Gunners were gonna keep pressing despite having almost no space to work with. What I didn't know was that Walcott would not only be brought into the game while they were behind, but that he'd help spark the side and set up the tying goal. To say I was impressed with the kid was an understatement...after all the crap he's had to hear about how he had no business being in Germany (which might be true, but when it's coming from people who made about as much of an impact on England's fortunes as Theo did, they oughta shut the **** up), it's been great seeing him put on two fine performances in several days. Hopefully it's just the start for him.

As for the rest of the EPL, it was absolutely looney today. How Sheffield managed to share the points with the Reds is beyond me. Reading's performance against Boro was absolutely stunning. Spurs losing to Bolton shouldn't have been a surprise considering they've never won at the Reebok, but it was still a pretty disappointing performance for them. Crazy ass day...seeing Reading above Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool in the tables is laugh out loud material. Man U and Chelsea had better watch their asses tomorrow, lest they meet similiar surprises.

You can see everyones week 1 teams now, just click on their name and click week 1 at the top.

The research page is hilarious, 67% of teams have Sheva in them :lol

I can see im gonna have to resist the urge to constantly tinker with my team :-/

By the way, all hail the return of Lee Bowyer, he cut Charlton to shreds yesterday, set up all three goals (he only got given one on the FF for some reason) and hit the post in our best move of the game.

He looked a right Chav in the post match interview with huge gold chain and raised collar so im guessing he's still a bit of a cock, but if he keeps playing like that I wont much care.
