You can see everyones week 1 teams now, just click on their name and click week 1 at the top.

The research page is hilarious, 67% of teams have Sheva in them :lol

I can see im gonna have to resist the urge to constantly tinker with my team :-/

By the way, all hail the return of Lee Bowyer, he cut Charlton to shreds yesterday, set up all three goals (he only got given one on the FF for some reason) and hit the post in our best move of the game.

He looked a right Chav in the post match interview with huge gold chain and raised collar so im guessing he's still a bit of a cock, but if he keeps playing like that I wont much care.

Mo's Ho's are doing well, my team is 5th in the league and three of my players are yet to play. I'll have to make some changes for next week. Scholes is suspecded for three games whilst rooney could be allowed to play depending if his strike not to appear in any sponsor commercials for the fa is successful

Hehe, AZ had a great start of the season yesterday. Ripped NAC to shreds to ultimately win 8-1. That's a nice boost of confidence right there :p

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/5268096.stm

"Wayne Rooney has reportedly threatened to reduce his off-field role with England in protest at his three-match ban from the Football Association."

I'm glad, it was a grotesque decision. I would rather he completely pulled out international football until everyone who had a hand in this decision was no longer associated with the FA. I watched the game live on Sky and I knew from the very moment it happened that despite the fact that the most crooked court under the world’s worst dictatorships couldn’t have declared him guilty with a strait face, our FA would find a way, and sure enough they did.

I’m not even sure the fabled ABU bias can be accounted here, as Manchester United were given assurance by the FA prior to the decision that Rooney would not face a ban. Perplexing.

:lol Yeah, good on Roon. I wonder if the ruling was simply a case of one or several people inside the FA having an axe to grind with Alex Ferguson over the whole World Cup situation, and using this to gain revenge. If that is the case (and honestly I see no other motive...every indication I've seen is that the red was 100% bullshit) that's just all the more reason to give the FA an enema from the top down.

Glad to see that Mclaren is supporting Rooney. He said the FA ruling was the work of "faceless amateurs". Mclaren looks like he could do a very good job as manager

**** me, I was confident about winning today but I never thought we would be beating fulham so easily. Its 4-1 at half time thanks to an own goal and goals from rooney, saha and ronaldo. How ironic that it was rooney who set up ronaldo. Unfortunately we conceded one near the end of the first half, the ball took a deflection off ferdinand.

Isn't Heinze still injured?

Anyway, it's a great start for United and to be perfectly honest, I haven't seen them play like that in a really long while. The passes were really good and Ronaldo in particular looks really sharp....

Damn I've been away recently and think I've missed the deadline for the fantasy football. But anyway I've entered the private group, if it's too late then sorry eject me at will, it's a bit of a hashed up team anyway. I think the name says it all - Last place scenario.

5-1 Wow I guess people can stop with the "where are the goals gonna come from now that Rudd is gone" bullshit. Im glad we won but still a big win like this may sometimes cause a team to not go 100% the next game (ie look at us last year). Im glad we won and I'll be even happier if next week we come out with the same intensity. My fantasy points have got to be through the roof at this point ( I had both Ronaldo and Rooney). :)

Final score was 5-1, rooney scoring the last goal. I was very impressed with the team today, they were amazing. We played very fast attacking football. Ronaldo looks better than ever, although he did miss a golden opportunity to score. saha was great and showed why fergie chose him over van nistelrooy, as long as he can stay fit he willbe a very important player. iThe best players today were rooney, scoles and evra. Rooney got two goals and set up ronaldo, Scholes was at the centre of everything and bossed the midfield. Evra was really impressive, he didnt ket anyone get oast him and his tackling was superb. i was a little bit concerned about himk last season because he never really did anything special, but if todays performance is a sign of things to come then heinze's place could be under threat. I dont qwant to get carried away, Fulham are not the best opposition, but niether were villa and sheffied united but arsenal and liverpool btoh struggled against those teams.

My fantasy football team should be very good, I had rooney, saha and scholes and all of them played very well.

Man Utd. - Fulham 5-1
Ajax - RKC 5-0
PSV - NEC 3-1
Groningen - Feyenoord 3-0 (Man, they're really missing Kuijt and Kalou)

I could never understand why people said that we couldnt score without ruud. When ruud was at united we had to change our style of play to suit him. Most of our attacks had to be directed to him. Ruud was a very good finished but he didnt have very good fluidity and movement. Saha does have very good movement and whilst i dont think jhe will get more goals than ruud, he will be a bigger asset to the team. Ruud did get 30 goals a season, but that doesnt guarantee any success. Chelsea have not had a 20 goal a season striker, but they have won back to back titles.

I completely agree in fact if you look at last years thread I was basically stating that ( about Rudd, how we have to play a different style which in effect hurts us) I was complaining about this around the time Rudd was benched :). To me the worst part is knowing Rooney and Scholes are going to miss the next three games they both looked fantastic Scholes in particular ( Rooney is always class).

Yeah, I've always thought van Nistelrooy was good and all but he wasn't essential to the team, IMO. He never did seem to score on the big occasions when we really needed him to and he relies a lot on being fed. And during United's greatest days in the late 90s and early 2000s, we never did have a single really good striker. Yorke, Cole, Sheringham and Solskjaer (great to see him back at last) were all just above average strikers at best.

When anyone who doesn’t follow United thinks of Ruud they think of the player he was during the first 3 seasons and not the last two. I love the guy, I had a photo of his 2005 pen celebration against Arsenal on my Manchester Uni accommodation wall for 2 years. The fact is we are not losing the player that scored 46 goals during the 02/03 season, he has had 5 good months in the last 24. From these 24 months I cannot remember a single big game performance, an issue that hit a head with an awful showing against Liverpool in the FA cup, and his flop at this years WC. When Saha is fit he is the better (and younger) player, he showed it last year, add to this the fact that we got 10 million pounds for a 30 year old, removed some one who didn’t want to be here and opened up a striking spot for a very promising 19 year old (Rossi) and the returning Alan Smith and Ole Gunnar (who has been a delight in preseason), shipping Ruud was a good and obvious bit of business.

Very well said.

Its nearly half time at stamford brigde and chelsea are 2-0 up. Chelsea have not changed at all. Terry handballed the ball and lampard scored a deflected goal

What formation is Chelsea playing? Looking at the names, I'd say something like 4-2-4?

And how's Kalou doing? I've always liked that kid, a shame Feyenoord didn't let him go to PSV last year even though in front of a camera he said: "I want to go to PSV, PSV is a better club". :lol

:D I guess as a united fan im in a comfortable spot ..........:(

Yeah that 'Last Place Scenario' team has been deleted, I dont want to acuse anyone of trying to cover their shame...though thats blatantly whats happened.

If it wasnt and i just deleted your team, appologies, but you're too late, im trying to keep an even playing field.

ourumov is *this* close to getting deleted too but he didnt sign up late he just didnt pick his team (dumbass ;) ).

I feel sorry for Mama he got screwed with virtually all his picks this week, -9 for niemi! ouch.

I wrote about 10-15 posts ago what the situation was so it was just a case of being late, obviously no points were allocated as it starts from week 2. As I said in that post it's no problem to delete me if it was a problem.

Ah right, didnt see the post.

As i say, sorry.

Heres a cute picture to make up for it.

Can't believe I'm 14th. Shevchenko got no points?! I swear he won at least a corner today :lol

Next week I'm definetly going to read the team news before I'm definete on my team.

Also considering switching from 3-4-3 to 3-5-2 as the midfielders seem to be more consistent in their scoring (of points).

PS: I hate any team that had Man Utd players in. So undeserving of their points. It was too easy for them :lol :lol

Barcelona looking real good today, up 2-0 on Espanyol in their home leg of the SuperCopa. They had a pretty unimpressive 1-0 win against Espanyol the game prior.

2nd goal was sick with 5 or so Barca players (starting with Rafa Marquez) one-touch passing to each other down thh right side of the field which led to a low cross right down the middle to Deco for an easy goal. Ball movement in the attacking half of the field is oh so pretty.

O.o

God damn Messi is mind-blowing sometimes. Just finished a 70-yard sprint that included a sick open-field juke of a defender (left him legs split open on the floor :lol)and ended with a near assist, but Ronaldhino couldn't finish.

So....zero clean sheets, no strikers scoring, two players who didn't even take the pitch and the most expensive player in the Premiership apparently making absolutely no contribution to a game.

I've so got this fantasy football thing down.

Is it too late to get in on that Fantasy thing? I'd love to join. A repost of the link would be appreciated too.

Disappointing opening draw for Liverpool. I just missed the game though, so I'm not sure how we played. Fowler on a penalty as our only goal isn't impressing though...

yeah some big name players me down too.

Hopefully things will pick up on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Holy shit, my team Parana Clube scored at minute 94.5 (49, 30 seconds of second half)to win 1-0. Theyre in 2nd place again, even though they (and 3 other teams) are one game behind.

I wish I'd read up on this a bit. I was expecting a number of transfers to be allowed for the season. Not unlimited (in which case I'd have had Rooney for this game at least). Even with him being banned midweek he'll probably outscore most players on today's performance alone...

:(

according to the latest rumours Arsenal are going to do a swap deal with Chelsea - Gallas coming our way (taking 5 million off the Cole deal).

This would be excellent news, a Gallas - Toure central defense should solve a lot of our problems. As soon as Clichy is fit again we'd have one of the best (and probably the fastest) defenses of the premiership.

Eboue (Lauren) - Gallas - Toure - Clichy

It would be great, make it happen!

Heh, I guess Chelsea and Man U learnt Saturday's lessons well. Good Lord...

There's talk that Arsenal have finally made a formal offer for Gallas. The growing feeling is that the Cashley Cole deal will be completed sometime this week, with either Chelsea paying 19 mill all cash, or a Cole/Gallas swap with Chelsea paying anywhere from 5 to 10 to make up the difference. Of course similiar things were said two weeks ago, so who really knows (for the record the Mirror said Chelsea's got no intention of parting with Gallas despite the offer).

I'm still buzzing over Walcott's efforts...he just looked like a stud. Makes me wonder all the more why Sven didn't have the nuts to trot him out in one of the group games.

It looks like buying hargreaves will very difficult. Bayern are very stubborn about it, they have already lost ballack so they wont want to lose another central midfielder and since we didnty dell ruud to them they probably feel that they should let us buy their players. Id be disappointed if wer didnt get hargreaves, but its not a huge loss if we couldnt get him. We have scholeswho looked amazing yesterday, carrick keeps possession and passes the ball well, which is what we have le#acked in the last two sesons and O'shea has been doing very in in central midfield.

Walcott was brilliant. he didnt have much time to play, but he made a massive impact in the time he had. As soon as he came on arsenal were attacking a lot more and he was involved in all of their attacks. Id love to see him play more. Arsenal; do have a lot of midfielders but he looked like the best player on the pitch on saturday.

Chelsea have completed the signing of Boulahrouz. Hopefully that means that they'll let Gallas move on.

I've been crying for a new centre back for over a year now, this would be the perfect solution.

Gallas plus cash for Cole would be such an awesome deal. Then you could put him at left back so I could laugh my ass off.

Wait a minute....that would **** up my fantasy football team....bad deal, Gallas is past it, Cole for cash only.

Speaking of FF, I'm really having to resist the temptation to change things around. I just had a lot of players who did badly and surprising results, it doesn't mean it's a bad team. If you look at my team:

Niemi - Alright, I didn't really expect a great start from him away to United, but I wanted him while he was cheap. Still, I could hardly have expected a 5 goal demolition.

Hyypia - I thought Sheffield Utd might cause Liverpool problems in terms of breaking them down, they were always going to fight hard, but I didn't think they'd score! I was so expecting a cleansheet.

Heinze - Alright, he was coming back from an injury, but he played the majority of the games against Seville and Oxford Utd, I figured he was ready. Didn't even make the bench.

Djourou - Supposed to be a nice cheap buy who would get games due to others injured, who I could sell for more when they return. He got me points...not many...but his value's actually dropped slightly and they conceded to Villa who spent most of the game sitting in their own half!

Lampard - Good old Lampard, scored from a deflection as usual. No complaints.

Ballack - Didn't play, though I knew he wouldn't going in. Still hoping he will on Wednesday.

Gonzalez - A last minute swap for Rosicky. I didn't particularly want him, he was just the right price, but he put points on the board so that's ok by me.

Zokora - I hope he adapts better to life in the Premiership than he did against Bolton.

Shevchenko - Nothing? Not even a shot on target? Not even fouled? Come on!

Berbatov - I still have faith, but he didn't do great against Bolton...though he was still my highest points earner up front.

Henry - This better be the worst game of the season for him, given how much I paid. And you can get him quite a bit cheaper now, goddammit.

You know, I just got really confused about the clean sheets thing as I couldn't find the stats for my players...but yahoo have that in thet attacking stats. Why? Got me.

Ive made a couple of changes to my team and I think more changes will happen before tomorrow. I dropped scholes because he cant play the next game, so I changed my formation to a 3-4-3 and i got shevchenko upfront. He is very cheap so i thought why not, but I might swap him for robbie keane or berbatov because tottenham play sheffied united at white hart lane and one of them will score. Rooney might have to come off if his threat to pull out of fa commercials fails, so if he cant play I'll put keane in his place. Ive also replaced toure and carragher with campbell and terry. Nolan only got 0.5 points for me, so i will probably swap him too, Im not sure who for though.

Someone help me out here, I'm confused.

So I look at my team and see it says Henry's value has changed by -1.23, to 21.37. But if I look at the research section and the price movers, it says Henry has only gone down -0.15....but still costs the same at 21.37.

Same goes for Niemi. On the my team section, he's dropped -1.89 to 7.12, but on the price movers section he's only dropped -1.74 to 7.12.

So what's with the different figures?

alright, let's analyse my team as well:

Van der Saar - did well, got good points

Heinze - didn't play, bummer
Toure - no points, I don't really understand. He had a decent game.
Terry - lots of points
Eboue - lots of points

Duff - half decent and 3 points
Zenden - didn't do well and got almost nothing for that.
Fabregas - good points for a decent display
Ljungberg - lots of points for not appearant reason

Yakubu - scored and got 16 points, I am happy with myself
Van Persie - didn't start, I have no clue why (adebayor didn't do much). Came on and did well, still only 1 point for it.

I'm quite happy with this team going forward, I think all of them should be 1st choice in almost all the games and all of them should score quite well. I won't change around much (if at all).

Juev are going to lodge another appeal. Since the other teams are allowed to play in serie A its only fair that Juve get to do so as well

Smith will be fit for our game on monday, he coiuld start against charlton. I dont know how well saha and smith can play togehter, but they will get goals against charlton

Martins is on the brink of a move to newcastle. Its a very good buy for newcastle. he's got blistering pace and he's v ery strong, so he has got everything needed to succeed in the premiership. Too bad owen i still injured because those two could have made a very good partnership. The thought of owen, martins and duff running at defenders is scary.

Liverpool, arsenal, newcastle and bolton wont be playing in the next gameweek, so if you have players from those teams they should probably be replaced.
